International capital flows are primarily facilitated by foreign direct investment (FDI). The study employs display research to investigate how to draw value-added FDI in the face of turbulence along with the global economy and the COVID-19 pandemic to the Saudi Market. These findings have led to an important mode of foreign direct investment, so they are extremely important as compared to previous studies. The findings reveal that trade openness, infrastructure availability, and market size all play a role in attracting foreign direct investment into a region. Foreign direct investment can be beneficial to both investment companies and host governments. Furthermore, the COVID-19 shock will amplify the current worldwide trend of shortening supply chains and reducing FDI growth. This is a critical juncture that the Saudi government should be encouraged to develop strategies that would lessen the economic impact of such changes on the host country. It also aids the country's economic development and socio-economic transition. Several factors influence Saudi Arabia's ability to attract foreign direct investment, including growth rates, GDP, exports, and imports. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the government must ensure that the nation remains attractive in order to retain maximum foreign direct investment flows, as this encourages long-term economic growth by rising human capital investment. Therefore, in the face of tumultuous global economic conditions and the COVID-19 pandemic, attracting foreign direct investment can become a source of economic dependency and technology transfer diversification within the Kingdom

La “cuenca de vida” como nueva escala de producción de territorios urbano-rurales sostenibles. Reflexiones desde los Andes ecuatorianos

    Get PDF

Hypercholesterolemia is a term used to describe high amounts of cholesterol in the blood. The statin family of substances, a heterogeneous collection of molecules that impede the action of HMG CoA reductase, is one of the most important synthetic pharmaceuticals used to address such disorders. Plant extracts are increasingly being utilized to treat a variety of diseases. According to studies, Cinnamon and ginger lowers blood triglycerides and total cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol, or high-density lipoprotein. Aim of the Study: The present study's goal was to compare the effect of statin (Atorvastatin) and Herbals (Ginger+ Cinnamon) on the submandibular salivary gland of hypercholesterolemic albino rats. Materials and Methods: There were two groups of 40 mature male albino rats. (1) Control group: rats were kept on a normal diet, (2) Experimental groups: Hypercholesterolemic group:  rats fed with hypercholesterolemic rich diet for 4 months, Atorvastatin and Cinnamon+ Ginger groups: rats were given Atorvastatin tablets and Cinnamon+ Ginger powder at the beginning of the third month with a dose of 10 mg/kg BW. and 6 gm \Kg. BW+ 100 mg\ Kg. BW respectively. Sections 5 mm thick of the parotid gland were examined histologically, ultra-structurally, and immunologically by anti-Caspase Ⅲ immune antibody. Results: The high cholesterol group had significant degenerative alterations in the parenchymal parts of the submandibular salivary gland, whereas the Atorvastatin and Cinnamon+ Ginger groups demonstrated significant enhancing effects in the histological structure of the rat's submandibular gland. Conclusion: To varying degrees, hypercholesterolemia wreaks havoc on the anatomy of the parotid gland. The use of Atorvastatin as a synthetic line of treatment for hypercholesterolemia improved submandibular gland tissue and blood cholesterol levels. Cinnamon+ Ginger administration improved submandibular gland tissue as a natural herbal remedy for high cholesterol levels in the blood

Abstract A critical investigation into the information communication technology (ICT) architecture supporting virtual universities confirmed that service oriented architecture (SOA) is the ICT architecture supporting virtual universities. The study was motivated by the desire to have an in-depth understanding of the ICT architecture supporting virtual universities after considering an upwards trend in a large number of organizations interacting in real time over real, large geographic distances creating a virtual world. Using published work, the study established that different technologies and protocols, such as Service Oriented Architecture SOA, Remote Procedure Call RPC, Transport Protocol TP, Simple Object Access Protocol SOAP, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol SMTP and Extensible Markup Language XML , are being used and can be used to support a third generation virtual university. The study established strengths and weaknesses of SOA and virtual universities who offer all services in an integrated way such as e-learning, specialized virtual centres for developmental educational courses, libraries and administrative functions, interactive environments for asynchronous and synchronous communications and collaboration
