    Exact solution of Schrodinger equation for Pseudoharmonic potential

    Exact solution of Schrodinger equation for the pseudoharmonic potential is obtained for an arbitrary angular momentum. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated by Nikiforov-Uvarov method. Wavefunctions are expressed in terms of Jacobi polynomials. The energy eigenvalues are calculated numerically for some values of l and n with n<5 for some diatomic molecules.Comment: 10 page

    Mapping of shape invariant potentials by the point canonical transformation

    In this paper by using the method of point canonical transformation we find that the Coulomb and Kratzer potentials can be mapped to the Morse potential. Then we show that the P\"{o}schl-Teller potential type I belongs to the same subclass of shape invariant potentials as Hulth\'{e}n potential. Also we show that the shape-invariant algebra for Coulomb, Kratzer, and Morse potentials is SU(1,1), while the shape-invariant algebra for P\"{o}schl-Teller type I and Hulth\'{e}n is SU(2)

    Stability of shortest paths in complex networks with random edge weights

    We study shortest paths and spanning trees of complex networks with random edge weights. Edges which do not belong to the spanning tree are inactive in a transport process within the network. The introduction of quenched disorder modifies the spanning tree such that some edges are activated and the network diameter is increased. With analytic random-walk mappings and numerical analysis, we find that the spanning tree is unstable to the introduction of disorder and displays a phase-transition-like behavior at zero disorder strength ϵ=0\epsilon=0. In the infinite network-size limit (NN\to \infty), we obtain a continuous transition with the density of activated edges Φ\Phi growing like Φϵ1\Phi \sim \epsilon^1 and with the diameter-expansion coefficient Υ\Upsilon growing like Υϵ2\Upsilon\sim \epsilon^2 in the regular network, and first-order transitions with discontinuous jumps in Φ\Phi and Υ\Upsilon at ϵ=0\epsilon=0 for the small-world (SW) network and the Barab\'asi-Albert scale-free (SF) network. The asymptotic scaling behavior sets in when NNcN\gg N_c, where the crossover size scales as Ncϵ2N_c\sim \epsilon^{-2} for the regular network, Ncexp[αϵ2]N_c \sim \exp[\alpha \epsilon^{-2}] for the SW network, and Ncexp[αlnϵϵ2]N_c \sim \exp[\alpha |\ln \epsilon| \epsilon^{-2}] for the SF network. In a transient regime with NNcN\ll N_c, there is an infinite-order transition with ΦΥexp[α/(ϵ2lnN)]\Phi\sim \Upsilon \sim \exp[-\alpha / (\epsilon^2 \ln N)] for the SW network and exp[α/(ϵ2lnN/lnlnN)]\sim \exp[ -\alpha / (\epsilon^2 \ln N/\ln\ln N)] for the SF network. It shows that the transport pattern is practically most stable in the SF network.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figur

    Exact solutions for vibrational levels of the Morse potential via the asymptotic iteration method

    Exact solutions for vibrational levels of diatomic molecules via the Morse potential are obtained by means of the asymptotic iteration method. It is shown that, the numerical results for the energy eigenvalues of 7Li2^{7}Li_{2} are all in excellent agreement with the ones obtained before. Without any loss of generality, other states and molecules could be treated in a similar way

    Novel Bound States Treatment of the Two Dimensional Schrodinger Equation with Pseudocentral Plus Multiparameter Noncentral Potential

    By converting the rectangular basis potential V(x,y) into the form as V(r)+V(r, phi) described by the pseudo central plus noncentral potential, particular solutions of the two dimensional Schrodinger equation in plane-polar coordinates have been carried out through the analytic approaching technique of the Nikiforov and Uvarov (NUT). Both the exact bound state energy spectra and the corresponding bound state wavefunctions of the complete system are determined explicitly and in closed forms. Our presented results are identical to those of the previous works and they may also be useful for investigation and analysis of structural characteristics in a variety of quantum systemsComment: Published, 16 page

    Measurement of Trace I-129 Concentrations in CsI Powder and Organic Liquid Scintillator with Accelerator Mass Spectrometry

    Levels of trace radiopurity in active detector materials is a subject of major concern in low-background experiments. Procedures were devised to measure trace concentrations of I-129 in the inorganic salt CsI as well as in organic liquid scintillator with Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) which leads to improvement in sensitivities by several orders of magnitude over other methods. No evidence of their existence in these materials were observed. Limits of < 6 X 10^{-13} g/g and < 2.6 X 10^{-17} g/g on the contaminations of I-129 in CsI and liquid scintillator, respectively, were derived.These are the first results in a research program whose goals are to develop techniques to measure trace radioactivity in detector materials by AMS.Comment: Proceedings of 10th International Conference on Accelerator Mass Spectrometr

    An Interactive Approach Based on Alternative Achievement Scale and Alternative Comprehensive Scale for Multiple Attribute Decision Making under Linguistic Environment

    The aim of this paper is to develop an interactive approach for multiple attribute decision making with incomplete weight information under linguistic environment. Some of the concepts are defined, such as the distance between two 2-tuple linguistic variables, the expectation level of alternative, the achievement scale, the alternative comprehensive scale under linguistic environment. Based on these concepts, we establish some linear programming models, through which the decision maker interacts with the analyst. Furthermore, we establish a practical interactive approach for selecting the most desirable alternative(s). The interactive process can be realized by giving and revising the achievement scale and comprehensive scale of alternatives till the achievement scale and the comprehensive scale are achieved to the decision maker’s request.
