    Get PDF
This paper investigates market reaction analysis to CEO turnover announcement in Indonesia. We are considering the succession factors: (1) the origin of successor (inside/outside firm) and (2) the process of succession (routine/non-routine). This paper aims to examine the market reaction of CEO turnover announcements. The samples consist of 59 firms from 1992 to 2003 and there was a t-test use to examining information content of CEO turnover announcements. The results show that market reacts positively to all CEO turnover announcements. The examination of the effects of succession process shows that market react positively to routine change, but do not react to non-routine change. Market also reacts positively to succession that leads inside candidate become a CEO, but the market give a mixed reaction when the successor come from outside firm. When the author combines the succession factors, we find the interesting result that market reacts favorably (positive) to routine change that leads the candidate from inside firm become a CEO. But market reacts unfavorably (negative) to routine change that leads candidate from outside become CEO. That’s mean the Indonesian investor prefer the smooth process in the succession, and they can reduce the uncertainty. Therefore we conclude that CEO turnover announcements have information content

The results of the analysis show that on average, social and environmental disclosure in manufacturing companies in Indonesia is still quite low. This research shows that there is an influence of management ownership, foreign ownership, and block ownership on social and environmental disclosure but not significant for dispersed ownership. The results of the analysis show that foreign ownership has a fairly strong positive influence on social and environmental disclosure. Get PDF
This study aims to provide empirical evidence of the ability to predict financial distress using financial variables (current ratio, cash flow operation, leverage, gross profit margin, and return on assets) and non-financial variables (going concern opinion, audit report lag, opinion shopping, the additional state capital, and subsidies). Model testing uses three steps. First, financial ratios (CR, CFO, LEV, GPM, ROA); second, non-financial ratios (GCO, ARL, SHOP, ASC, SUB); and third, all variables at once. This study uses panel data (2011-2020) with a sample size of 50 Indonesian SOEs. Data analysis uses ordinal logistic regression. The first test results show that CR and ROA positively affect financial distress, while LEV and GPM have a negative effect. The second test results show ARL has a negative effect, while SHOP and SUB have a positive effect. Meanwhile, the third test results show LEV, GPM, and ASC have a negative effect, while ROA and SUB have a positive effect. Based on the r-squared and correctly predicted values, the third model test results are better than the first and second models. Statistically, the ability to predict financial distress that combines financial and non-financial ratios is better than models that only use financial and non-financial ratios. Financial ratios are the most consistent predictor of financial distress in terms of significance
