Join and Meet Operations for Interval-Valued Complex Fuzzy Logic

DMU Interdisciplinary Group in Intelligent Transport SystemsInterval-valued complex fuzzy logic is able to handle scenarios where both seasonality and uncertainty feature. The interval-valued complex fuzzy set is defined, and the interval valued complex fuzzy inferencing system outlined. Highly pertinent to complex fuzzy logic operations is the concept of rotational invariance, which is an intuitive and desirable characteristic. Interval-valued complex fuzzy logic is driven by interval-valued join and meet operations. Four pairs of alternative algorithms for these operations are specified; three pairs possesses the attribute of rotational invariance, whereas the other pair lacks this characteristic

The educational policies of the Unionist Government: Politics and religious controversy, 1895 to 1905 (England).

The 1902 Education Act was the centrepiece of a series of reforms to popular education which began with the return of the Unionist Government to office in 1895 and ended with the Secondary School Regulations of 1904-5. The Act provided the framework for popular education until the implementation of the 1944 Butler Act after World War II. This thesis discusses the educational changes made by the Unionists, and concludes that while administratively satisfactory, there were deficiencies. The opportunities available to children of the working class to obtain a suitable secondary or technical education were sharply reduced: in part because of the inadequate provision of scholarships and maintenance allowances, and in part because of the political decision to end the further development of the higher grade schools, which had been established by the large urban school boards.Dept. of History, Philosophy, and Political Science. Effect of Calving Time and Weaning Time on Cow and Calf Performace - A Preliminary Report

Cows grazing native range pasture year round in western South Dakota were allotted to 3 management systems: 1) A calving season starting in mid March with calves weaned in late October; 2) A calving season starting in mid March with calves weaned in mid September; and 3) A calving season starting in early May with calves weaned in late October. The effect of management system on pregnancy rate was year dependent. After 4 years of the study, there was no consistent advantage for any particular group. Average weaning weight was consistently higher for the March calving/October weaned group that was older at weaning than the other two groups. In the first year of the study, severe winter weather caused a higher calf death loss that resulted in a lower weaning percentage for the March calving groups compared to the May calving group. The weaning percentage favored the March calving groups in year 4. With the exception of the first year, the pounds of calf weaned per cow exposed were greater for the March calving/October weaned group compared to the other two systems. An estimate of overall calf income was $30 higher per cow exposed for the March calving/October weaned group compared to the May calving group. In deciding the optimum time to calve, the potential to reduce cost of winter feed, equipment, facilities and labor for a specific situation would need to be considered
