O método desenvolvido foi validado e é adequado à qualificação do desempenho de misturadores de pós e granulados.;;This study aims at developing an analytical procedure capable of quantifying the ferric oxide present in the mixture of ferric oxide/lactose monohydrate (0.4% w/w). The analytical procedure was checked for specificity, linearity, precision (system repeatability, procedure repeatability and intermediate precision), accuracy, stability of solutions and robustness of the procedure. The concentration of Fe (III) was determined by spectrophotometry at 480 nm based on calibration curves. The specificity was verified. The linearity was obtained in the range of 11.2 to 16.8 µg of ferric oxide/mL. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the system repeatability, procedure repeatability and intermediate precision, were not more than 2%. The RSD of the accuracy values were less than 0.75%. The stability of the samples was checked over a 24 hours assay. In the robustness evaluation, the wavelength and the concentration of hydrochloric acid varied. The maximum absorbance deviation due to wavelength variation was 0.14 percent, and the maximum deviation due to the hydrochloric acid concentration variation was 2.4%, indicating that the concentration of hydrochloric acid is critical to the analysis of ferric oxide. The procedure developed was validated and is suitable to the performance qualification of powder mixers.

The objective of this study was to assess the effects of including animals or vegetable fats and mineral on the acceptability, nutrient digestibility and triglyceride plasma concentrations and cholesterol in horses. Four foals aged 13 to 16 months were used receiving diet containing grass hay and concentrate. The experimental design was a Latin Square; using orthogonal contrasts. The acceptability was not influenced by the quantity nor the type of oil added to the diets. The smallest dry matter (DM) digestibility values, organic matter (OM) and ether extract (EE) were observed for the diets with the addition of mineral oil (58.90, 60.29 and 32.02%) compared to the control diet, whose values were 62.58, 64.41 and 77.71%. The EE digestibility coefficient obtained for the diets with animal fat (90.26%) and vegetable fat (86.47%). The diet with mineral oil reduced the HDL-C concentration (68.75 mg/dL) compared to the control diet (76.00 mg/dL). The adition of fat sources and mineral oil did not influence the acceptability of the diet by the horses. The vegetable oil did not differ from animal fat regarding nutrient digestibility, but these fat sources affected ether extract digestibility. The addition of mineral oil reduced the plastmatic HDL-C levels while the addition of animal fat and vegetable fat did not alter the cholesterol plasmatic concentrations

However, their electrical properties need to be enhanced to apply at industrial scale. Amorphous indium-gallium-zinc oxide (a-IGZO) is the most-used transparent semiconductor metal oxide as an active channel layer in thin-film transistors (TFTs), due to its superior electrical properties. The present work evaluates the influence of composition, thickness and ageing on the electrical properties of solution a-IGZO TFTs, using solution combustion synthesis method, with urea as fuel. After optimizing the semiconductor properties, low-voltage TFTs were obtained by implementing a back-surface passivated 3-layer In:Ga:Zn 3:1:1 with a solution-processed high-k dielectric; AlOx. The devices show saturation mobility of 3.2 cm2 V-1 s-1, IOn/IOff of 106, SS of 73 mV dec-1 and VOn of 0.18 V, thus demonstrating promising features for low-cost circuit applications.publishe

Objective: To estimate the prevalence and associated factors of dental trauma in 6-year-old school children in the city of Palhoça, Brazil. Material and Methods: Cross-sectional study nested in a cohort study. It involved a representative sample of school children born in 2009, residing in the municipality and regularly enrolled in public and private schools (n = 1,102). Clinical data were obtained through oral exams. To evaluate the incisal overjet, the distance in millimeters was measured horizontally from the labial surface of the lower central incisor to the labial surface of the upper incisor. Bivariate analyses were performed using the Chi-square test, with a p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant. Multivariate analyses using Poisson Regression were performed to identify independent associations between the prevalence and the independent variables studied. Results: Prevalence of dental trauma was 4.2% (95% CI 3.0-5.4). Dental trauma was statistically associated with studying in a private school (PR = 1.03; 95% CI 1.01-1.06) (p=0.016) and with inadequate lip coverage (PR = 1.08; 95% CI 1.01-1.14) (p=0.016). Conclusion: The prevalence of 4.2% of dental trauma in six-year-old children, associated with inadequate and greater lip coverage in children from private schools should be taken into account, since most teeth at this stage are newly erupted

The aim of this review was to collect and systematize results of studies from the last 5 years concerning the influence of the Pilates method (PM) on functional body composition (FBC). Methods: The criteria of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) were used in this review. We conducted research in three scientific databases: (i) Web of Science Core Collection, (ii) SCOPUS, and (iii) search directory of the library catalog of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Coimbra—EBSCO Discovery Services. We found 334 articles, covering the period between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2021. After the selection process, we found 33 eligible articles. Results: The main results seem to point to a tendency to get a better body weight and body fat percentage (BFP), hip circumference (HC), waist, and skinfolds from the chest, abdomen, triceps, and supra-iliac in mostly female samples. Available evidence indicates that, in body composition (BC) and FBC, Pilates practice tends to be effective in reducing obesity as a multifactorial condition. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a marked trend in the benefits of Pilates in FBC, which is in line with other systematic reviews at the BC level (which includes body weight (BW) and body mass index (BMI)) and in the reduction of the percentage of fat mass (FM). It is also concluded that there is a vast lack of studies on the male population, preventing further scientific development in this area. The limitations of this systematic review can be overcome with studies that bring together multidisciplinary aspects of FBC, better designed and methodologically more robust, which will allow more reliable analyses for the implementation of the Pilates method in terms of FBC. In addition, further studies with a male sample or mixed samples (men vs. women) could confirm the trend of no gender differences in the benefits of Pilates practice.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The effects of different quantities and types of dietary fats on the digestibility of feeds for equines are complicated and not fully understood. The present work was undertaken to evaluate the acceptability and digestibility of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), and neutral and acid detergent fibers (NDF, ADF), upon increasing inclusion levels of soybean oil (SBO) (5, 10, 15 and 20%) in the concentrate portion of diets composed of equal parts of grass hay and concentrate. The total collection of feces method was used with four yearling colts. The experimental design was 4 x 4 Latin square and the data were analyzed by simple polynomic regression. The SBO showed good acceptability as all of the concentrates offered were consumed. Level of SBO inclusion in the concentrate affected (P < 0.05) OM digestibility, there being and initial increase up to a maximum of 66.7% at the 10.74% inclusion level and decreasing digestibility thereafter; in analogous fashion the digestibilities of NDF and ADF increased to maxima of 51.8% and 45.5% at SBO inclusion levels of 9.5% and 10.56%, respectively. The lower digestibilities at higher inclusion levels were presumably due to inhibitory effects of added lipid on the cecal cellulolytic microflora. Level of SBO inclusion did not significantly affect the digestibilities of DM, CP and EE, although DM digestion followed a quadratic tendency (P = 0.08) very similar to that observed for OM
