Communicative Language Teaching and Its Misconceptions About the Practice in English Language Teaching (Elt)
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) has been accepted as one of the teaching methods by numerous language teachers due to its major focus on developing learners\u27 communicative competence. This paper aims to describe communicative language teaching, misinterpretations about its practice and the factors leading to teachers\u27 misconceptions. It shows four misinterpreted beliefs of the implementation of communicative language teaching: communicative skills, teacher\u27s role in communicative activities, fluency and accuracy as the main goals and teaching techniques. It then presents three reasons that might lead to teachers\u27 misinterpretations concerning the practice of CLT. Teachers do not have enough training and adequate resources
PHYTOCHEMICAL STUDY, ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY TEST OF METHANOL EXTRACT OF QUININE LEAVES (Chinchona officinalis L)
This study aims to determine the quality characteristics and phytochemical screening of Simplisia performed on quinine leaves simplisia and the methanol extract of leaves. Extraction was done by maceration with methanol. Furthermore, antifungal activity test for Candida albicans is done tothe extracts to determine how much the minimum inhibitory concentration. The result of the research indicated that the simplisia quality characteristics and phytochemical screening results showed positive results contain alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids / triterponoid and quinones and antifungal activities to Candida albicans which is indicated by the results of MIC compared by nystatin standard. Mathematical Representation Ability-Based Mathematical Contextual Problems of Sequences and Progression Material
This research objective is to analyze and explain the student’s capacity for mathematical representation based on mathematical contextual problems of arithmetic and geometric sequences and progression material. Students enrolled in SMA 1 Sukoharjo X.E10 were the subject of this research. The data collection process used interviews, tests, and documentation. This research used a descriptive research approach with a qualitative research type. Based on the findings of this research, students who have visual representation skills in mathematics are more likely to complete challenges that involve visuals, such as diagrams. Typically, mathematically symbolic representation-capable pupils utilize mathematical formulas and symbols to solve problems. Furthermore, students who have the ability to verbally represent mathematics have a tendency to encrypt problem-solving steps into words
NEED ANALYSIS ON ENGLISH TEACHING MATERIALS FOR ICT STUDENTS
The research aims to find out the English Materials need of the students of Genetic Computer School Singapore in Learning English. The quantitative and qualitative method were conducted in this research to provide the description of the students’ needs. In collecting the data, the researcher applied interview for lecturers and questionnaire for the students as the instrument of the research. There were two lecturers and thirty of second-semester students in the 2017-2018 academic year as participants in this research by conducting purposive sampling.The result of this research revealed that students of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) mostly needed two skills in learning English. First, speaking skill that is to communicate in English and to present their final project exam. Second, writing skill is used to do their assignment and final report in English. Language element which most important and needed by the students is vocabulary, then followed by grammar. The interview result showed that in teaching English the lecturers do not have permanent syllabuses for four semesters and the existing materials are design based on lecturers perception, it is not based on students needs. The information of this research as the recommendation for the institution that might be used as guidance to design the English syllabuses
Implementasi Peran Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Guru PAUD Selama Masa New Normal Covid-19.
Abstrak Pada masa new normal Covid-19 terdapat beberapa guru yang mengalami penurunan kedisiplinan. Peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui implementasi peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan Implementasi Peran Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Guru PAUD Selama Masa New Normal Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah 1 kepala sekolah dan 4 guru di RA IU. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purporsive sampling. Analasis data menggunakan model Miles and Huberman yang meliputi 3 tahapan: reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang 5 indikator peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru. 5 indikator tersebut yaitu peran sebagai pendidik (educator), mengikutsertakan guru dalam pelatihan, seminar, dll, melatih public speaking, membantu melanjutkan ke jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi dan mendorong guru menciptakan model pembelajaran yang menarik. Leader (pemimpin), membangun hubungan komunikasi yang baik dan membimbing guru dalam memahami IPTEK. Administrator, mengelola administrasi sekolah dan pengembangan kurikulum. Supervisor, dengan membantu guru menyelesaikan masalah. Motivator, menjadi teladan yang baik, memberikan reward dan punishment, memberi suasana kerja yang nyaman, dan menpengaruhi, mengajak, dan menginspirasi guru untuk selalu meningkatkan kompetensi diri
An Analysis of Chemical Engineering Students’ Needs on Instructional Reading Strategies
Reading is an important macro skill besides speaking, writing and listening. Reading is a receptive skill, yet it is still essential for success in both academic and in everyday life. Therefore, the study aims at analyzing chemical engineering students’ needs for instructional reading strategies to help them comprehend the text. A qualitative research design was used for this study with quantitative data collection. Data were collected through questionnaires from 60 chemical engineering students and analyzed using descriptive statistics (the interpretations of percentages). The results show that there are seven important reading instructions selected by chemical engineering students (above 90%) that is drawing conclusion, making prediction, identifying cause and effect, distinguishing between facts and opinions, comparing and contrast, identifying the main ideas and identifying supporting details. Chemical engineering students also had favorable attitudes on three other instructional reading strategies that were considered important with the percentage of below 89 percent they are recognizing and interpreting writer’s view, summarizing and drawing conclusions. Based on the analysis of students’ needs, majority of chemical engineering students believe the seven most important instructional reading strategies should be incorporated into the reading materials as reading comprehension activities
PENGARUH PROPORSI BAYAM HIJAU (Amaranthus tricolor L) DAN TEPUNG BERAS (Oryza sativa L) TERHADAP HASIL JADI MASKER TRADISIONAL
Abstrak: Proporsi bayam hijau dan tepung beras pada masker tradisional dapat digunakan sebagai perawatan kulit wajah. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh proporsi bayam hijau dengan 3 produk yaitu (a) X1 (20%: 80%), (b) X2 (30%: 70%), dan (c) X3 (40%: 60%) pada hasil jadi masker tradisional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah True Eksperimental Design. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi. Berdasarkan Uji statistik dengan menggunakan anava tunggal, terdapat pengaruh proporsi bayam hijau dan tepung beras terhadap hasil jadi masker tradisional dari warna, tekstur, aroma, daya lekat dan tingkat kesukaan panelis yang signifikan dengan nilai kurang dari 0.05. Sedangkan dari lima aspek dengan nilai rata-rata tertinggi sebesar 3.96 ada pada aspek tingkat kesukaan panelis, dan hasil penelitian berdasarkan nilai dari seluruh aspek penilaian (a) X1 memiliki rata-rata 5.21, (b) X2 memiliki rata-rata 3.41, (c) X3 memiliki rata-rata 2.75 dan dari ketiga proporsi yang paling disukai panelis yaitu dengan rata-rata 3.96 pada proporsi X2 (30% bayam hijau dan 70% tepung beras) ditinjau pada seluruh aspek. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of green spinach proportion with 3 products, namely (a) X1 (20%: 80%), (b) X2 (30%: 70%), and (c) X3 (40%: 60%) on traditional mask result. This type of research is True Experimental Design. Data collection method used is observation. Based on statistical tests using a single anava, there is an effect of the proportion of green spinach and rice flour on the results so the traditional mask of color, texture, aroma, adhesion and panelist favorability are significant with values less than 0.05. While the five aspects with the highest average score of 3.96 are in the panelist favorites aspect, and the research results based on the value of all aspects of the assessment (a) X1 has an average of 5.21, (b) X2 has an average of 3.41, (c ) X3 has an average of 2.75 and of the three most preferred proportions of panelists with an average of 3.96 in the proportion of X2 (30% green spinach and 70% rice flour) reviewed in all aspects. ANALISIS FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN PEMERIKSAAN ANTENATAL CARE KUNJUNGAN PERTAMA PADA IBU HAMIL
ANC visits are contacts between pregnant women and health workers to check their pregnancies and optimize the physical and psychological health of pregnant women. If a pregnant woman does not make an ANC visit, she cannot detect abnormalities in the mother and fetus, she does not know the risks that might occur to the mother, she cannot detect diseases suffered by the mother during pregnancy. Purpose; This study was to analyze the factors related to the first visit antenatal care in the working area of ​​the Karangpawitan Health Center, Garut Regency. Research with a cross sectional approach. The research sample used total sampling, namely all pregnant women in Sindangpalay Village, Working Area of ​​the Karangpawitan Health Center, Garut Regency, as many as 74 respondents in April 2019. The instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square test. Research results: that there is a relationship between knowledge variables with a p-value of 0.004, education variable with a p-value of 0.002, motivation variable with a p-value of 0.017 and family support variable with a p-value of 0.014 on ANC examination K1. That knowledge, education, motivation and family support have a relationship with ANC K1 examination. It is hoped that it can provide health education about the importance of the first visit ANC examination both at posyandu and in class activities for pregnant women so that pregnant women increase their knowledge
PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA POPSCRAP BOOK UNTUK PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPOSISI DI KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR
Abstrak
Media Popscrap Book merupakan media pembelajaran berupa kombinasi antara media Pop Up dan Scrap Book yang dikembangkan untuk keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi di kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkan kevalidan dan kepraktisan media Popscrap Book pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia materi menulis teks eksposisi di kelas V sekolah dasar. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development milik Thiagarajan Sammel and Sammel yang disebut 4-D (four D model). Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik validasi dan angket. Analisis data hasil validasi materi dan media serta hasil angket respon guru dan siswa dengan teknik persentase. Hasil validasi materi dan media adalah 88% dan 87% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil angket guru dan siswa adalah 90% dan 96% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa media valid dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi di kelas V sekolah dasar.
