    Tree Stands and Their Productivity Dynamics at the Upper Growing Limit in Khibiny on the Background of Modern Climate Changes

    Within the ecotone of the upper limit of woody vegetation on the southeastern macroslope of the Khibiny Mountain ridge (Kola Peninsula), the spatial and age structure, as well as features of the phytomass accumulation of spruce–birch stands, were studied. Analysis revealed that there was a manifold increase in the density and productivity of forest stands in the last century, and the upper border of the woodlands and dense forests has moved considerably higher into the mountains. All of this happened against the background of an increase in early summer temperatures and a longer growing season in the area in the 20th century. Our data will help simulate the response of mountain ecosystems in the region to future climate change. © 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

    Lightweight PUF-Based Gate Replacement Technique to Reduce Leakage of Information through Power Profile Analysis

    The major challenge faced by electronic device designers is to defend the system from attackers and malicious modules called Hardware Trojans and to deliver a secured design. Although there are many cryptographic preventive measures in place adversaries find different ways to attack the device. Differential Power Analysis (DPA) attack is a type of Side Channel Attacks, used by an attacker to analyze the power leakage in the circuit, through which the functionality of the circuit is extracted. To overcome this, a lightweight approach is proposed in this paper using, Wave Dynamic Differential Logic (WDDL) technique, without incurring any additional resource cost and power. The primary objective of WDDL is to make the power consumption constant of an entire circuit by restricting the leakage power. The alternate strategy used by an adversary is to leak the information through reverse engineering. The proposed work avoids this by using a bit sequencer and a modified butterfly PUF based randomizing architecture. A modified version of butterfly PUF is also proposed in this paper, and from various qualitative tests performed it is evident that this PUF can prevent information leakage. This work is validated on ISCAS 85, ISCAS 89 benchmark circuits and the results obtained indicate that the difference in leakage power is found to be very marginal

    Human otoacariasis: a common outbreak in rubber growing belt of Karnataka.

    Background/Objective: Soft tick in the ear is a very common acute painful and distressing condition in the flowering months of October to March. It’s a common condition in the rubber growing belt of Sullia.The mouthparts of the tick grips firmly the skin of the external auditory canal or the tympanic membrane and sucks blood and swells up. Otoscopy and removal of the tick from the ear can be done in outpatients in adults and difficult in a frightened irritable child.Materials and methods: 312 cases of intra-aural ticks presenting to the opd and casualty which included 131 males and 181 females were included in the study.Results: Out of the 312 cases of intra-aural ticks, 170 cases were treated in the outpatient and 140 cases under short general anesthesia with oto-microscopy.Conclusion: Intra-aural tick infestation is an acute painful condition which needs prompt management by an experienced otolaryngologist. Proper visualization and instrumentation is necessary to avoid complications.

    Implementation of a Simplified Cultural-Based Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization

    This paper presents a simplified Cultural based Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) algorithm. In this algorithm we modify momentum and global acceleration components of the conventional MOPSO algorithm. The algorithm has been tested on common benchmark functions. Its performance has been compared with other algorithms, using standard test metrics. The results show that the cultural based MOPSO is more efficient and robust

    Clinical presentation of tubal ectopic pregnancy

    Background: When the fertilized ovum gets implanted at site other than normal position of uterine cavity, it is known as ectopic pregnancy. Incidence of ectopic pregnancy is 1-2% of all reported pregnancies. It is an unmitigated disaster of human production and the most important cause of morbidity and mortality in first trimester with major cause of reduced child bearing potential. It is notorious in its clinical presentation, challenging the attending physician.Methods: women with risk factors, signs and symptoms and with confirmed diagnosis. Women discharged against medical advice. Study population is 50. Retrospective analysis for 3 years (2016-2019). Objectives of this study were to study the incidence, risk factors, clinical presentation, diagnosis and changing trends of modern management. Results analysed after entering the information in the excel sheets using descriptive analysisResults: Out of 4940 deliveries, 50 were tubal ectopic pregnancies 1.012%. Women aged 20-25 years were 52%. In our study, multiparous were 68%. Common symptoms were abdominal pain 80.2%, amenorrhea 72%, urine gravindex test positive 92.8%. Etiology was PID 20%, previous ectopic pregnancy 4%, IUCD 4%, LSCS with tubectomy 16%, most common site is ampulla 82%. About 78% were ruptured. Tubal abortions 4%, salpingectomy done in 82%. Laparotomy in 2.43% in hemodynamically unstable. Medical management 8%. Salpingostomy in 4% and expectant management 2%. Morbidity in the form of blood transfusion 23.48%, DIC with ICU admission 2%. No mortality.Conclusions: A high index of clinical suspicion with underlying risk factors may get us early diagnosis for timely intervention

    Abstrack: The aim of this research is to know whether there is any correlation between students\u27 adversity quotient and academic procrastination in education program of Teacher Education Courses for Early Childhood Education and Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at University of Riau year 2014. The population of this research is the students of Teacher Education Courses for Early Childhood Education in Faculty of Teacher Training at University of Riau year 2014 that consists of 83 students, the samples of this research are 63 students. Method of this research is quantitative correlation to know the correation between independent variable and dependent variable. The technique of collecting data used quistioner in Likert scale form. The technique of analyzing data used scale test and statistic analitical by using SPSS program for Windows Ver.17. Based on the hypothesis there is any significant negative correlation between sudents\u27 adversity quotient and academic procrastination in Teacher Education Courses for Early Childhood Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at University of Riau year 2014. It could be seen from the result of correlation cooficient that rxy = -0,324 and significant level is 0,010 < 0,05. The correlation between students\u27 adversity quotient and academic procrastination is in the medium level which is the KP = r² x 100% = 10,50%, it means that adversity quotient affect the academic procrastination as much as 10,50%

Hats off to each one of you for what you have done for CMFRI, the fruits of which are here to stay. My personal gratitude to all of you for all the support and encouragement you have been giving me in the past seven years and I will always cherish the time I spent in CMFRI, contributing my small mite to the development of this premier institution. I had requested several of our former colleagues to write a few words about their memories in CMFRI. Many responded promptly, a few thought it was not worth writing. I thank you all for putting in so few words so much of feelings and emotions which truly reflect what CMFRI means to each one of you. And let me assure you all that each one of you mean so much for each one of us passing through the corridors of this great institution, reminding us that there are miles to go before we sleep, miles to go before we sleep
