    Technological research methodology to manage organizational change

    Change is a process that is part of the nature of people; however, within organizations, it should be seen as an invention that will generate benefits in the markets. The main objective of this work is to design a technological methodology to manage change from seven administrative models. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out; the method applied was analysis-synthesis; the example technique was used to comment; the support instruments were a standard data collection form and a comparative table to analyze this data vertically and horizontally. The methodology was validated in the research units of a local university. The main results were 1) The change of management within organizations is an invention; 2) administrative models of change are used to manage it; 3) but, to be successful in managing change, the methodology of technological research is required in addition to the administrative process

    Dynamics of Coherent States in Regular and Chaotic Regimes of the Non-integrable Dicke Model

    The quantum dynamics of initial coherent states is studied in the Dicke model and correlated with the dynamics, regular or chaotic, of their classical limit. Analytical expressions for the survival probability, i.e. the probability of finding the system in its initial state at time tt, are provided in the regular regions of the model. The results for regular regimes are compared with those of the chaotic ones. It is found that initial coherent states in regular regions have a much longer equilibration time than those located in chaotic regions. The properties of the distributions for the initial coherent states in the Hamiltonian eigenbasis are also studied. It is found that for regular states the components with no negligible contribution are organized in sequences of energy levels distributed according to Gaussian functions. In the case of chaotic coherent states, the energy components do not have a simple structure and the number of participating energy levels is larger than in the regular cases.Comment: Contribution to the proceedings of the Escuela Latinoamericana de F\'isica (ELAF) Marcos Moshinsky 2017.     Improving root characterisation for genomic prediction in cassava

    Open Access Journal; Published online: 14 May 2020Cassava is cultivated due to its drought tolerance and high carbohydrate-containing storage roots. The lack of uniformity and irregular shape of storage roots poses constraints on harvesting and post-harvest processing. Here, we phenotyped the Genetic gain and offspring (C1) populations from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) breeding program using image analysis of storage root photographs taken in the field. In the genome-wide association analysis (GWAS), we detected for most shape and size-related traits, QTL on chromosomes 1 and 12. In a previous study, we found the QTL on chromosome 12 to be associated with cassava mosaic disease (CMD) resistance. Because the root uniformity is important for breeding, we calculated the standard deviation (SD) of individual root measurements per clone. With SD measurements we identified new significant QTL for Perimeter, Feret and Aspect Ratio on chromosomes 6, 9 and 16. Predictive accuracies of root size and shape image-extracted traits were mostly higher than yield trait prediction accuracies. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of the image phenotyping protocol and assess GWAS and genomic prediction for size and shape image-extracted traits.     La formación de familiares como actuación de éxito en la Comunidad de Aprendizaje Albolafia de Córdoba. Un proyecto desde la investigación-acción participativa

    Resultados parciales del proyecto de investigación "Fomento de la participación y formación de familiares en los centros educativos Comunidades de Aprendizaje de los barrios de Moreras, Palmeras y Sector Sur de CórdobaLa presente comunicación describe un proyecto de investigación-acción participativa destinado a poner en marcha actuaciones que permitan la formación de familiares en la comunidad de aprendizaje CEIP Albolafia de Córdoba. Este centro, que se encuentra en un barrio donde se ha incrementado la pobreza de forma importante y los riesgos de exclusión social, desarrolla el proyecto de comunidades de aprendizaje desde el curso 2011-2012. El proyecto se inscribe en el paradigma de la investigación-acción participativa, incorporando actuaciones propias de metodología comunicativa crítica (Gómez, Latorre, Sánchez y Flecha, 2006). Hemos analizando con los familiares sus necesidades y aspiraciones respecto a la formación y se ha generado un espacio para la realización de multialfabetizaciones gestionado por el equipo investigador junto con voluntariado universitario. A lo largo del proceso se ha realizado una observación sistemática para facilitar la reflexión sobre los procesos. Finalmente se han hecho entrevistas a los diversos participantes para poder analizar las dificultades y avances observados a lo largo del primer año con la finalidad de planificar el próximo. Los principales resultados han sido respecto a las actuaciones llevadas a cabo, pues estamos en la fase final de análisis. Por lo tanto solo avanzamos resultados parciales

    "QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF NUTRITION INFORMATION PUBLISHED WEEKLY IN THE SURROUNDING OF FOUR HOSPITALS IN LIMA, PERU"

    "There is a growing demand from the general public regarding nutrition topics that has prompted social media such as magazines, newspapers, television, radio and the internet to include more nutritional content. The purpose of this study was to assess the quality of nutrition information published by health weeklies in the surroundings of four hospitals in Lima, Peru. A cross- sectional study was conducted using a mixed methodological design involving both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Thirtyseven hard copies of 4 health weeklies were purchased over the 10- week study period. Bivariate Logistic Regression was performed to examine all available journal characteristics associated with the quality of provided information. Logistic Regression Models were estimated for the independent variables that showed statistical significance in the bivariate analysis. Weekly publications with the highest percentage of pages dedicated to nutrition were “My Health” (41.67%), “Natural Health” (48.6%) and those with the lowest percentage were “Sun, medicine and beauty” (19.37%) and “Health, Money and Love” (18.34%). Collected publications included 185 articles that were classified into two groups regarding the validity of the nutrition information presented: supported 50.3% (93/185) and unsupported 49.7% (92/185). Statistical analysis for quality estimated that the “name of weekly” had a p value=0.000, the “topic” had a p value=0.035, and the “objective, source description, quarter of publications” had a p value >0.05. Multivariate logistic regression reports that only the variable “name of the weekly” had statistical significance with p values less than 0.05. The percentage of nutrition information suggests that editors may not be applying journalistic principles and shows the importance of interdisciplinary work, between nutritionists and health journalists, to improve health status of the general population. In the case of weekly health publications, editors responsible for this type of written press could benefit from including nutritionists in charge of providing nutritional information.

    Additive Role of Immune System Infiltration and Angiogenesis in Uveal Melanoma Progression

    Uveal melanoma (UM) is a malignant tumor that arises in the melanocytes of the uveal tract. It is the most frequent eye cancer, and despite new therapeutic approaches, prognosis is still poor, with up to 50% of patients developing metastasis with no efficient treatment options available. In contrast to cutaneous melanoma, UM is considered an "immune-cold" tumor due to the low mutational burden and the unique immunosuppressive microenvironment. To gain insight into the role of the UM microenvironment in regard to prognosis and metastatic progression, we have performed a pool analysis characterizing the UM microenvironment by using a bioinformatic approach. A variety of scores based on gene expression measuring stromal infiltration were calculated and used to assess association with prognosis. As a result, the highest immune and stromal scores were associated with poor prognosis. Specifically, stromal cells (fibroblasts and endothelial cells), T cells CD8+, natural killer (NK) cells, and macrophages M1 and M2 infiltration were associated with poor prognosis. Contrary to other tumors, lymphocytic infiltration is related to poor prognosis. Only B cells were associated with more favorable prognosis. UM samples scoring high in both angiogenesis (Angio) and antigen presentation (AP) pathways showed a poor prognosis suggesting an additive role of both functions. Almost all these tumors exhibited a chromosome 3 monosomy. Finally, an enrichment analysis showed that tumors classified as high Angio-high AP also activated metabolic pathways such as glycolysis or PI3K-AKT-MTOR. In summary, our pool analysis identified a cluster of samples with angiogenic and inflammatory phenotypes exhibiting poor prognosis and metabolic activation. Our analysis showed robust results replicated in a pool analysis merging different datasets from different analytic platforms

    Genome-wide association and prediction reveals genetic architecture of cassava mosaic disease resistance and prospects for rapid genetic improvement

    Published: 13 May 2016Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a crucial, under-researched crop feeding millions worldwide, especially in Africa. Cassava mosaic disease (CMD) has plagued production in Africa for over a century. Biparental mapping studies suggest primarily a single major gene mediates resistance. To investigate this genetic architecture, we conducted the first genome-wide association mapping study in cassava with up to 6128 genotyping-by-sequenced African breeding lines and 42,113 reference genome-mapped single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers. We found a single region on chromosome 8 that accounts for 30 to 66% of genetic resistance in the African cassava germplasm. Thirteen additional regions with small effects were also identified. Further dissection of the major quantitative trait locus (QTL) on chromosome 8 revealed the presence of two possibly epistatic loci and/or multiple resistance alleles, which may account for the difference between moderate and strong disease resistances in the germplasm. Search of potential candidate genes in the major QTL region identified two peroxidases and one thioredoxin. Finally, we found genomic prediction accuracy of 0.53 to 0.58 suggesting that genomic selection (GS) will be effective both for improving resistance in breeding populations and identifying highly resistant clones as varieties
