    New architecture of a medication management system

    This thesis presents the issues of electronic prescribing in the hospital environment in order to reduce adverse drug events that are caused by medication errors. Various studies confirmed that medication errors are the leading cause for prolonging the healing process, disability, and sometimes even death among hospitalized patients and represent significant increase of costs for the health system. Most frequent medication errors are incorrect dose, wrong medication, medicine administered too late or medicine administrated to the wrong patient. These errors are caused by various reasons: illegible or incomplete handwritten prescription; missing information about drug history; failure to comply with the patient's allergies, ignoring side effects due to drug interactions. Computerized physician order entry (CPOE) together with a decision support system (drug interactions checking, dose calculations, allergy checking) can improve patient safety, reduce medication errors, optimize work processes in all stages of medication process (prescribing, ordering, dispensing, administration and monitoring). Special attention is given to the review of literature dealing with lessons learned from implementations of electronic prescribing system in various hospitals. The thesis also reviews articles that propose guidelines for optimizing the system and eliminating unintended medication errors related to the system itself. The key contribution of this work is an architectural model of electronic prescribing system. The motivational model presents the goals and objectives of the electronic prescribing implementation. The key medication processes are also presented emphasising the value and benefits of electronic prescribing

    Nakon prvog, uvodnog dijela u kojemu su ukratko prikazani predmet i cilj rada, izvori i metode prikupljanja podataka te sadržaj i struktura rada, slijedi drugo poglavlje. U drugom poglavlju prvotno se objašnjava zračni promet općenito, regulativa zračnog prijevoza te se poglavlje zaključuje s analizom istaknutih organizacija u zračnom prometu. Treće poglavlje u fokusu ima tržište Republike Hrvatske. Stoga isto počinje povijesnim razvojem zračnog prometa u Hrvatskoj. Potom se detaljnije analizira zračni promet u Republici Hrvatskoj, kako putnički tako i teretni. U sklopu istog pobliže se analizira i sama Zračna luka Franjo Tuđman, od temeljnih informacija pa sve do organizacije poslovanja, analize prometa u Luci, kao i strategije daljnjeg razvoja Luke. Detaljnije se prikazuje i značenje financijskih pokazatelja, kao i njihovi rezultati. U četvrtom poglavlju analizirani su podaci prikupljeni putem provedenog primarnog istraživanja. U petom poglavlju iznesena su zaključna razmatranja

    Organization of the Distribution of New Cars in Europe with Regard to the Croatian Market

    Distribucija je prijenos dobara od mjesta proizvodnje do mjesta potrošnje, odnosno od proizvođača do krajnjeg korisnika uz minimalne troškove procesa, s ciljem da roba bude u pravo vrijeme na pravom mjestu. Radi visoke konkurentnosti na tržištu automobilima, postoji potreba za što efikasnijim i učinkovitijim distribucijskim strategijama. Ovaj diplomski rad pridonosi razumijevanju distribuccije te uloge posrednika u suvremenom sustavu prijevoza automobila. Premda u Hrvatskoj nema razvijene proizvodnje i montaže automobila, već je dulje prisutna proizvodnja autodijelova te distribucija automobila i autodijelova. U radu je objašnjeno funkcioniranje tokova distribucije automobila u Europi, kako funkcionira tržišni marketing u RH te načini poslovanja najvećih hrvatskih distributera automobila.Distribution is the transfer of goods from point of manufacture to it's final destination, that is from the producer to the end user with minimal costs of the process, with the aim that the goods are in the right time and the right place. Due to high competition in the car maket, there is a need for more efficient and effective distribution strategies. This thesis contributes to the understanding of the distribution and the role of intermediaries in the modern system of transportation of cars. Although Croatia has no developed manufacturing and assembly of cars, there is longer present production of car parts and distribution of cars and car parts. In this paper is explained the functioning of the flow distribution of cars in Europe, how the commercial marketing in the Republic of Croatia works and methods of operation of the biggest Croatian car dealer

    Qualification of the system for production of clean water

    Prečiščena voda je osnovni nosilec vseh farmacevtskih postopkov in nekaterih izdelkov. Prečiščeno vodo se pridobiva iz naravnih virov preko različnih faz čiščenja. V smislu dobre proizvodnje prakse morajo biti vsi sistemi za proizvodnjo čiste vode kvalificirani oziroma dokazano ustrezni glede na zahteve regulativnega okolja, v katerem delujejo. Zato sem v svoji diplomski nalogi opravil kvalifikacijo sistema za proizvodnjo čiste vode. Končni produkt je kvalifikacijski protokol, s katerim se preverja ustrezno delovanje aparata glede na predpise za okolje, v katerih se uporablja. V okviru dela je nastalo pet dokumentov, v katerih je natančno opisan postopek izvajanja kvalifikacije sistema, da ustreza zahtevanemu standardu CSLI (ang. Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute). Svojo diplomsko delo sem nadgradil s poglobljenim pregledom delovanja merilnika skupnega organskega ogljika (TOC, ang. total organic carbon), katerega uporaba se v zadnjih letih povečuje. Omenjeni merilik določa vrednost vsebnosti TOC v vodi posredno preko upornosti oksidirane vode. Na rezultat meritve tako močno vpliva kvaliteta konduktometra in pripadajoče sonde, točnost temperature izmerjene vode in njena kompenzacija.Purified water is the main carrier of the pharmaceutical processes and products. Purified water is obtained from natural sources through various stages of purification. In terms of good manufacturing practice, all systems that produce clean water, should be qualified or proven relevant. In my thesis I have made a qualification of a system for production of clean water. The final product was a complete qualification protocol, which verifies the proper operations of the water cleaning system, according to the rules of the environment for which it applies. The resulting 5 documents in which it is precisely described whole process of how to perform a qualification of the system so that is proven to work in compliance of the required standard. I have also upgraded my thesis with a thorough review of the operation of the TOC meter, the use of which in recent years it has become increasingly common. I came to the conclusion that the TOC meter indirectly determines the value of the content of TOC in the purified water through the resistance of the oxidized water. The final result can thereby be influenced by the quality of the conductivity meter and associated probes and the accuracy of the measured ultrapure water temperature and the compensation of it

    Osnovna uloga ambalaže je zaštita jaja tijekom rukovanja, skladištenja i transporta. Novi trendovi i globalizacija tržišta zahtijevaju distribuciju hrane na velike udaljenosti, što na ambalažu stavlja sve vede zahtjeve u cilju zaštite zapakirane robe. Osnovne karakteristike dobrih ambalažnih materijala su mogudnost njihove masovne proizvodnje, efikasnost samog materijala, pogodnost njegove strukture i oblika, praktičnost upotrebe i utjecaj tog materijala na okoliš. Fizička zaštitna uloga pakiranja važna je kod proizvoda osjetljivih na udarce i vibracije kao što su jaja. Pri tome značajnu ulogu ima i sam materijal od kojeg su kutije izrađene. Konstrukcija kutija omogudava da se svako jaje postavi u za to predviđeno mjesto pri čemu je spriječen kontakt s drugim jajima u pakiranju. Materijal izrade i konstrukcija kutija štite jaja od neželjenih posljedica koje se javljaju tijekom prijevoza i skladištenja preuzimanjem sila umanjujudi njihovo djelovanje na ljusku jaja. Istraživanje je provedeno na 3 najzastupljenija tipa kutija za jaja koja se koriste na području Republike Hrvatske. Kutije su podvrgnute djelovanjem sila u smjerovima osi z. Sila potrebna za lom jaja ovisi o konstrukciji i materijalu izrade kutije. Najbolje rezultate pokazale su kartonske kutije kod kojih je za lom jaja potrebno primijeniti najveću silu.The basic role of packaging is the protection of eggs during handling, storage and transport. New trends and globalization of the market require food distribution over long distances, which place on the packaging ever increasing demands. Conditions necessary to produce appropriate packaging are possibility for mass production, reasonable and efficient packaging material, suitable structure and form, convenience, and consideration of disposal. The physical protective role of packaging is important for shock and vibration sensitive products such as eggs. The boxes may be made from materials having different strengths and different wall thicknesses in order to control the deformation of the boxes. Box shapes have a dimpled form in which each dimple accommodates an individual egg and isolates that egg from eggs in adjacent dimples. This structure helps protect eggs against stresses exerted during transportation and storage by absorbing a lot of shock and limiting the incidents of fracture to the fragile egg shells. Boxes were compressed along their z-axis effectively indicated the cartons relative protective abilities. The force needed to break the eggs depends on the boxes design and material. Cardboard boxes showed best results according to maximum forces needed to break eggs

    Long-Time Dynamics of Variable Coefficient mKdV Solitary Waves

    We study the Korteweg-de Vries-type equation dt u=-dx(dx^2 u+f(u)-B(t,x)u), where B is a small and bounded, slowly varying function and f is a nonlinearity. Many variable coefficient KdV-type equations can be rescaled into this equation. We study the long time behaviour of solutions with initial conditions close to a stable, B=0 solitary wave. We prove that for long time intervals, such solutions have the form of the solitary wave, whose centre and scale evolve according to a certain dynamical law involving the function B(t,x), plus an H^1-small fluctuation.Comment: 19 page
