The purpose of this research was to study the relationship between organizational learning and EFQM excellence model. In this survey, 300 faculty members in University of Tehran 2012-2013 academic year answered to two standard questionnaire of organizational learning that was compiled based on Gomez, Cespedes-Lorente, and Valle-Cabrer (2005) and standard questionnaire of EFQM excellence model (2010). Obtained results by Pearson's correlation coefficient showed the significant relationship between organizational learning and EFQM excellence model. Obtained Results from multi-correlation coefficient and step by step regression showed that the best predictor of EFQM excellence model is transfer and integration of knowledge, system thinking and openness and experimentation

Evaluation of Yield and Yield Components of Two Potato Cultivars in Khorasan Razavi Province of Iran

    Get PDF
In order to study the yield and yield components of two potato cultivars, an experiment was conducted as a split plot based on a randomized complete block design with three replicates. The experiment was performed in two locations, Jolgeh-Rokh district, and Fariman city, in professional farmers’ fields in Khoarasan Razavi province. The main plots consisted of two potato cultivars, Agria and Fontane cultivars (medium maturing), which were identified as the main cultivars used in chips production factories in the Province. Our results showed higher potential of Agria cultivar for production of stems per plant compared to Fontana cultivar. Both stem number and tuber number per plant along with tuber weight and tuber yield were higher in Fariman location than in Jolgeh-Rokh

Designing a New Model for Organizational Websites Evaluation

    Get PDF
The current web evaluation models are mainly based on the technical evaluation of the site and its appearance and usability from user's perspective. In other words, the site is evaluated as an independent entity from the underlying organization that it represents. The focus of this study is on evaluation of organizations' websites based on the quality management concepts. In this way, the measured performance indicators will be used to find the deficiencies of the websites and recommend corrections. For evaluating the organization’s success in its website function, the concept of quality management is used and since evaluation and improvement are the center of attention in this model, the model is called Ev-Imp, which Ev stands for evaluation and Imp stands for improvement. Model includes four main components consist of objectives, processes, criteria and feedback. With the use of feedback tools such as quantitative and qualitative questionnaire for groups of stakeholders and service providers ,the website’s weaknesses and strengths would be identified and with analyzing the website’s weaknesses required improvement would be determined and corrective action would be don

Application of Dose Area Product (DAP) to Estimate Entrance Surface Dose (ESD) in Pediatric Chest X-Rays

Introduction: Given the high radiation tissue sensitivity of pediatric patients, it is necessary to monitor their received dose to optimize radiation protection. The first aim of this study was to evaluate the entrance surface dose (ESD) in pediatric patients undergoing a chest X-ray at the main hospital of Dezful, Iran. The second aim was to compare our results with the established dose reference levels (DRLs). Materials and Methods: The studied population included 204 pediatric patients less than 15 years who were referred to as chest X-ray. A calibrated dose area product meter (DAP-meter) with permanent installation on the X-ray unit was used to radiation dose measurements. For each patient, the demographic data, exposure parameters and the dose read by DAP-meter were recorded and ESD was calculated using a standard mathematical formula. Results: The average value of ESD was 119 μGy in patients less than 15 years. This value was 51.3, 122.3, 131.5 and 171.2 μGy for the age groups for less than 1 year, 1 to 5 years, 5 to 10 years and 10 to 15 years, respectively. A statistically significant difference was seen between ESD values in different age groups (P<0.001), whereas no statistical difference was seen between ESD values in girls and boys (P =0.993). Conclusion: Pediatric patients in hospital investigated (except age group less than 1 year) are subjected to unnecessary radiation exposure, especially due to the use of non-optimize X-ray protocols

Comparing the Resulted Strategies from the SWOT and the SPACE (Electricity Company as Case Study)

Abstract The present study was aimed to compare the implementation of two models in terms of strategic planning. In order to this, firstly, several field studies have been done in terms of the SWOT and the SPACE analysis. In the next step, a team of the meddle and senior managers that have studied in terms of SWOT analysis seek to identify the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and then develop their related strategies. They also develop and indicate the SPACE questionnaire. Based on the results of this questionnaire and determining the organization’s strategic position, they strive to develop the appropriate strategies. Finally, the strategies that have been derived from these models were compared to each other and their strengths and weaknesses were analyzed

The effect of depth variation on size and catch rate of green tiger shrimp, Penaeus semisulcatus (De Haan, 1884) in Bushehr coastal waters, Northern Persian Gulf

    Get PDF
Catch data of Penaeus semisulcatus were collected for three years (2009-2011) during the period of June to August to estimate the effect of depth variation on length frequency and catch rate (Kg h-1) of the species. No difference was observed between the shallow and deeper catch rate (ANOVA test, P > 0.05). However, the size composition of green tiger shrimp were affected by depth variation (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, P < 0.05) and were positively correlated with depth (P < 0.05 and r = 0.140). The smaller individuals prefer shallow waters, indicating behaviour differences between the juveniles and adults of this species. The positive correlation between size of shrimp and water depth can be attributed to the behaviour predation. Keywords: Green tiger shrimp, Penaeus semisulcatus, catch rate, depth variation, Persian GulfAfrican Journal of Biotechnology Vol. 12(20), pp. 3058-306

Investigation the accuracy of FEMA-440 procedure to analyze soil-structure systems

    Get PDF
A common analysis method of soil-structure systems in seismic design procedures such as FEMA-440 is to replace the entire soil-structure system by a fixed-base oscillator with an equivalent fundamental period and damping ratio to consider inertial effect of soil-structure interaction. It is generally believed by researchers that ignoring kinematic effect of soil-structure interaction is conservative to determine response of structures and FEMA-440 supports this idea by defining a reduction factor applying to elastic response spectra. Also, the improvements of nonlinear static procedures in FEMA-440 are achieved for fixed-base structures and the soil effects are not perfectly obtained in coefficients and relations of these procedures. Thus, it seems necessary to assess the accuracy of proposed procedures of FEMA-440 to include soil-structure interaction. In this paper, the accuracy of equivalent replacement oscillator and nonlinear static Procedures of Equivalent Linearization and Coefficient methods, defined in FEMA-440, to analyze soil-structure systems with surface and embedded foundations are evaluated. Both kinematic and inertial effects of soil-structure interaction are investigated by conducting a parametric study using 20 ground motions recorded on soft soil site E, on which the more SSI effects are probable
