Kuba presented the open problem of reconstructing discrete sets satisfying the properties of connectivity and convexity by projections taken along many directions. In this paper, we study this problem, considering a similar property of discrete sets: the Q-convexity. In fact this property contains a certain kind of connectivity and convexity. The main result of this paper is a polynomial-time algorithm which is able to reconstruct Q-convex sets from their projections, when the directions of the projections and the ones of the Q-convexity are the same. Moreover, the algorithm works for any finite number of directions

Différences et similitudes des promotions industrielles et des promotions institutionnelles

Parallèlement à l’évolution du cadre réglementaire de la recherche clinique, l’Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris a conçu à partir de décembre 2000 une approche pragmatique du suivi des études à promotion institutionnelle. Après avoir défini le socle des pratiques indispensable à toute étude clinique pour éviter les risques, les fraudes et les défauts de qualité, une approche graduée du suivi des études institutionnelles a été conçue et mise en place, en fonction de leur risque prévisible. Le système utilisé actuellement devra être en permanence évalué et adapté aux évolutions de la réglementation d’une part et aux résultats obtenus, d’autre part.The Délégation à la Recherche Clinique d’Ile-de-France et de l’Assistance Publique/Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) has elaborated a pragmatic approach for the monitoring of institutionally sponsored clinical studies. The mandatory practices aiming at preventing enrolled volunteers from risks and results from fraud and poor quality have been reviewed and a four-stage graduate monitoring has been defined, which is applied since 2002. This system needs to be scientifically assessed and adapted to the permanent evolution of national and international regulations

Medians of discrete sets according to a linear distance

We describe a local characterization of the median points and show how these points can be determined from the projections of the discrete set along directions p and q. We prove that the discrete sets having some connectivity properties have at most four median points according to a linear distance, and if there are four median points they form a parallelogram. Finally, we show that the 4-connected sets which are convex along the diagonal directions contain their median points along these directions

Ta’aruf Online Indonesia ingin mengembangkan aplikasi pencarian jodoh yang sesuai dengan syariat Islam (Ta’aruf). Hal ini didasari atas sulitnya menerapkan konsep Ta’aruf di lingkungan masyarakat, dimana mayoritas orang lebih memilih mencari pasangan dengan pendekatan langsung atau melalui media sosial. Dan konsep ta’aruf dianggap ekslusif, dimana orang yang mengenal ustadz yang dapat menerapkan konsep ta’aruf. Dan juga adanya anjuran dalam Islam untuk memilih pasangan bukan hanya berdasarkan wajah. Dari masalah ini dirancanglah aplikasi mobile “TOI” berbasis android untuk menangani masalah-masalah tersebut. Aplikasi akan dirancang dengan menggunakan Metode Extreme Programming karena memperhitungkan kondisi kebutuhan, biaya yang terbatas, pengembang yang terdiri dari tim kecil dan kemungkinan perubahan yang bisa terjadi selama pengembangan. Dengan adanya aplikasi ta’aruf ini dapat membantu masyarakat menemukan calon pasangan dengan proses yang sesuai dengan syariat

Approximate X-rays reconstruction of special lattice sets

Sometimes the inaccuracy of the measurements of the X-rays can give rise to an inconsistent reconstruction problem. In this paper we address the problem of reconstructing special lattice sets in Z2 from their approximate X-rays in a finite number of prescribed lattice directions. The class of "strongly Q-convex sets" is taken into consideration and a polynomial time algorithm for reconstructing members of that class with line sums having possibly some bounded differences with the given X-ray values is provided. In particular, when these differences are zero, the algorithm exactly reconstructs any set. As a result, this algorithm can also be used to reconstruct convex subsets of Z2 from their exact X-rays in a finite set of suitable prescribed lattice directions

Management of a polytrauma in the maritime environment

Background: A polytraumatised person is a severely injured patient with an association of several injuriesincluding at least one life-threatening. In an isolated and hostile environment like the maritimeenvironment, the principles of early care and fast evacuation of a polytraumatised person are sometimesdifficult to apply. Clinical case: We report the story of a patient with a bilateral fracture of the lower extremities following anaccident on board a Moldavian tugboat off the coasts of Djibouti. He received a medical treatment thanksto the intervention of a French military frigate after receiving a message of assistance by very high frequency,and then a helicopter evacuation to the Medicine and Surgery “Bouffard” Hospital. The pre-hospitalcare of a polytraumatised patients with limb injuries and the specificities of an intervention in a maritimeenvironment are described. The maritime international conventions relating to rescue at sea as well asthe specificities of the management of an injured person on a ship sailing under the Moldavian flag areexplained. Emphasis is placed on the importance of watchkeeping at sea and the presence on board oftrained first-aid personnel. Finally, a point is made on the French organisation of health support for ships,through the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre and the Regional Operational Centres for Surveillanceand Rescue. Conclusions: This case illustrates that the solidarity of the seafarers allows a seriously wounded person tomaintain, despite a degraded and isolated situation, the chances of successful management and preservethe functional prognosis
