In this work, we use the warped product as a bridge between two different geometries: para-Hermitian geometry and para-contact metric geometry. We focus our study on slant submanifolds. Towards a Reliable Comparison and Evaluation of Network Intrusion Detection Systems Based on Machine Learning Approaches

Presently, we are living in a hyper-connected world where millions of heterogeneous devices are continuously sharing information in different application contexts for wellness, improving communications, digital businesses, etc. However, the bigger the number of devices and connections are, the higher the risk of security threats in this scenario. To counteract against malicious behaviours and preserve essential security services, Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDSs) are the most widely used defence line in communications networks. Nevertheless, there is no standard methodology to evaluate and fairly compare NIDSs. Most of the proposals elude mentioning crucial steps regarding NIDSs validation that make their comparison hard or even impossible. This work firstly includes a comprehensive study of recent NIDSs based on machine learning approaches, concluding that almost all of them do not accomplish with what authors of this paper consider mandatory steps for a reliable comparison and evaluation of NIDSs. Secondly, a structured methodology is proposed and assessed on the UGR'16 dataset to test its suitability for addressing network attack detection problems. The guideline and steps recommended will definitively help the research community to fairly assess NIDSs, although the definitive framework is not a trivial task and, therefore, some extra effort should still be made to improve its understandability and usability further

Análisis morfométrico comparativo de los tramos superiores de las cuencas de los arroyos Sauce Chico, Napostá y Sauce Grande, Sierras Australes: uso de técnicas digitales

Los arroyos Sauce Chico, Napostá y Sauce Grande (Sierras Australes), constituyen unidades de interés actual y potencial para el abastecimiento de agua a la región. Diversos modelados hidrogeológicos de sus tramos superiores se han desarrollado previamente, resultando de interés aportar a ese conocimiento otras consideraciones a través de variables geomórficas. Se realizó una evaluación cuantitativa comparativa de estos sectores mediante el procesamiento de información digital. La integral hipsométrica se utilizó como parámetro geomórfico principal de comparación. Modelos digitales de elevación ALOS se emplearon para la obtención de las redes de drenaje e intervalos hipsométricos. Las Hojas Geológicas Curamalal y Ventana, complementadas por imágenes SENTINEL2 y de GoogleEarth se utilizaron para el reconocimiento de la distribución litológica en las cuencas. Los procesamientos se realizaron con los software Global Mapper, Idrisi Selva, Surfer, StitchMaps y CorelDraw. Las cuencas Sauce Chico, Napostá y Sauce Grande presentan drenajes con densidades de 39.9%, 46% y 38.8% respectivamente. Curvas hipsométricas con morfologías cóncavas hacia arriba, puntos de inflexión en altimetrías bajas y valores de integral muy bajos (<25%), revelan un paisaje senil para estos sectores de las cuencas. Volúmenes teóricos de terreno iniciales fueron calculados. Procesos de tectónica cenozoica no habrían afectado significativamente a estas cuencas

Media coverage of climate change mitigation in the spanish press

This article analyzes how the Spanish press covers the mitigation of climate change. We have used the search engine MyNews to study in El País and El Mundo, the newspapers with the largest circulation in Spain during the years 2016 and 2017, the news that includes the words "mitigacion" o "reducción de emisiones", y "cambio climatico” o “calentamiento global" in the most circulation newspapers in Spain in 2016 and 2017: El País and El Mundo. To explain how mitigation is covered by the Spanish press, we have used a series of categories and variables. As a result, we find an important difference between the urgency expressed by the scientific community and the reduced presence of this topic in the Spanish press

El cliente móvil MIWMessaje es una aplicación que permite el intercambio de mensajes de texto entre los usuarios que la utilicen. Esta aplicación es una versión simplificada de aplicaciones como Whatsapp o Hangouts que permiten enviar mensajes firmados y/o cifrados ofreciendo confidencialidad e integridad. La comunicación entre los clientes se realiza por medio de la plataforma Google App Engine con una aplicación que actúa por medio de un Channel API. En ella está establecido un protocolo https para el intercambio de los mensajes entre los usuarios de la aplicación. Se utilizarán métodos criptográficos con el fin de proteger la información que viaja por el canal así como la que se almacena en el propio terminal. Abstract The mobile client MIWMessage is an application that allows the exchange of the text messages between users that use it. This application is a simplified version of products as Whatsapp or Hangout. With this app, it could be possible to send messages by using cryptography techniques like signed, encrypted or both of them, offering the confidentiality and integrity of the message. Is carried out by using the Google App Engine, with an application that works through a Channel API. It uses a HTTPS protocol for exchange messages between the users application.
