A NEW ESTIMATE FOR BRAZILIAN VERTICAL DATA OFFSET BASED ON GLOBAL GEOPOTENTIAL MODELS AND HEIGHT DETERMINATIONS THROUGH RELATIVE APPROACH
This paper aims to present a new estimate for the vertical offset between both Brazilian vertical data: DVB-I, in Imbituba-SC, and DVB-S, in Santana-AP. Brazilian Fundamental Altimetric Network (BFAN) currently has over 69000 stations with known normal-orthometric heights; 472 of these stations are connected to a tide gauge located in Santana-AP, at the North portion of Brazil, and the other ones are connected to a tide gauge located in Imbituba-SC, at the South portion of Brazil and considered Brazilian's main vertical reference. The vertical offset estimate is based on comparisons between reference and calculated normal-orthometric heights from values obtained arising of discrete GNSS observations on BFAN benchmarks, normal-geoid heights calculated from GGM XGM2016, which has proven to better model this variable in the region, and through a relative approach for heights determination, which has also proven to be the best way to handling the appropriate variables. As a result, a vertical offset of 1.32 m ± 0.07 m was obtained, which is coherent to previous studies performed in the same intent. This study up-comes as a new validation of the employed methodology itself, by achieving satisfactory results through independent manipulation even with low quality of input data for the region
algumas localidades brasileiras, além disso, a maior parte do mapeamento
As
Porém a
Implications on cartography with Brazilian geodetic system evolution and further
SIRGAS adoption
Abstract
The existent cartographic products in the country are based in different
reference systems and their realisations that coexist in Brazil. The same happens
with the national systematic mapping whose production is responsibility of IBGE
and of DSG (Diretoria de Serviço Geográfico). The system based on Córrego
Alegre Datum, officially adopted in Brazil since 50s to 70s, continues to be used
as reference system for map generation in some Brazilian places, besides, most of
the cartographic documents are still referred to it. In the end of 70s, SAD 69 (South
American Datum of 1969) was adopted as official reference system in Brazil. In
1996 SAD 69 suffered a readjustment with the support of GPS measures, resulting
in new coordinates for the points of the Brazilian Geodetic Net. In 1997, IBGE
began to publish the coordinates in the new realisation of SAD 69 without change
the denomination of the system, but publishing the precision of the coordinates of
each point. The potentialities of the satellites positioning methods associated to the
fact that the classical systems do not have compatible precision with the current
positioning techniques, many countries have already adopted geocentric reference
systems. In this sense it was created in South America the project SIRGAS
(Geocentric Reference System for the South America and now for the Americas). In
Brazil, the future adoption of the SIRGAS as an official system follows as a logical
tendency, keeping the technological and scientific progresses in sight. With the
adoption of SIRGAS, its necessary to integrate the data and maps already
generated to the new system. In this work the implications of the evolution of the
Brazilian Geodetic System and the implications related to the adoption of a new
system in the country are discussed

Analysis of Dynamic Effects on the Brazilian Vertical Datum
This chapter presents a methodology of analyzing the dynamic effect from mean sea level variations, based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, velocity models, tide gauge observations, and satellite altimetry data. GNSS observations were processed in order to obtain the variation of up coordinate required to identify the possible crust movements. Velocity model served as a comparative basis to verify the obtained results from the GNSS data processing and served as a basis for analyzing the time periods without GNSS information. Tide gauge data were used to evaluate the sea level temporal evolution in the Imbituba Brazilian Vertical Datum (I-BVD). Satellite altimetry data were used for checking the results from the GNSS and the tide gauge time series. The analyses were based on time series of observations by GNSS from 2007 until 2016, tide gauge from 1948 until 1968 and 2001 until 2016, and satellite altimetry data from 1991 until 2015 from different missions. As basis for the analysis, it used GNSS SIRGAS-CON stations, the SIRGAS velocity model (VEMOS), and NUVEL velocity model. Considering the discrimination of the crust vertical movement (GNSS processing) from the results obtained with the tide gauge observations, it was observed that there is an evidence of mean sea level (MSL) rising approximately +2.24 ± 0.4 mm/year
Employment of Free Packages for MT-InSAR Approaches to Verify the Subsidence Event over Maceió City, Brazil
Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PSInSAR) technique employs a Multi-Temporal InSAR (MT-InSAR) approach to accurately measure subsidence. This technique, a type of Differential Interferometry (DInSAR), mitigates errors that traditional DInSAR techniques cannot, including temporal and geometric decorrelation, and phase unwrapping errors. In order to verify the subsidence process in the Pinheiro neighborhood of Maceio - Brazil following a 2018 earthquake, we tested free processing packages such as SNAP-StaMPS integration. Our investigation was conducted in two stages: first, using a stack of Sentinel-1A SLCSAR (Single Look Complex-SAR) images acquired before and after the earthquake, and second, using more recent images to determine if the subsidence process is ongoing. Results from the first stage identified the area affected by subsidence and the second stage confirmed the continued presence of subsidence events. From 2017 to 2018, the subsidence process exhibited the highest displacement amplitude of -32.3 mm/year, whereas, between 2021 and 2022, the amplitude decreased to -24.09 mm/year, indicating a deceleration in the subsidence process
respectivamente. Aspectos importantes a serem considerados é a realização e a
ITRF2000 and its use
Abstract
This paper presents some features of ITRS new realization, the ITRF2000, whose
densification happened by the inclusion of regional geodetic networks with
coordinates obtained by GPS. Transformations between different realizations of the
ITRS were done by the application of Helmerts equation and Helmerts
generalized equation, between references of the same and different epochs,
respectively. The realization and the reference time when the transformation
parameters are supplied by the IERS as important aspects to be considered, being
their update necessary when parameters linked to a different time from the one they
are supplied are wished. Nine stations in three different tectonical plates, and the coordinates transformed from the ITRF2000 to the 93 and 97 were compared with
the divulged ones in these realizations, since ITRF94, 96 and 97 have the same
transformation parameters in relation to ITRF2000
MODELAGEM DO POTENCIAL ANÔMALO NO DATUM VERTICAL BRASILEIRO VISANDO SUA NOVA DEFINIÇÃO
The Brazilian Vertical Datum (BVD) was established by the mean sea level (MSL)from tide gauge observations. However, in this MSL local effects linked to the shiftbetween the MSL from a equipotential surface W0 best fitted to the global MSLwere not taken into account. The relationship between the BVD and W0 can bedetermined by its gravity potential Wi. The potential difference ∆W = Wi – W0 isrelated to the topography of the mean sea level (better known in English as seasurface topography, SSTop) in the datum region by SSTop = ∆W/γ, where γ is thenormal gravity in the considered point. However, the computation of the potentialdifference ∆W is strongly affected by the local components of the DisturbingPotential T not predicted in global geopotential models. The determination of theselocal components is part of the Geodetic Boundary Value Problem – GBVP. In theclassical approach, the solution of GBVP is based on the use of gravity anomalies inthe computations by Stokes’ integral formula, which depends on the local verticalreference frame. The alternative presented here is based in the solution of the GBVPby using gravity disturbances in the context of Molodenskii’s solution associated with the known Earth surface.O Datum Vertical Brasileiro (DVB) foi estabelecido com base no nível médio domar (NMM) obtido a partir de observações maregráficas.
