The ALMA Discovery of the Rotating Disk and Fast Outflow of Cold Molecular Gas in NGC 1275
We present ALMA Band 6 observations of the CO(2-1), HCN(3-2), and
HCO(3-2) lines in the nearby radio galaxy / brightest cluster galaxy
(BCG) of NGC 1275 with the spatial resolution of pc. In the previous
observations, CO(2-1) emission was detected as radial filaments lying in the
east-west direction. We resolved the inner filament and found that the filament
cannot be represented by a simple infalling stream both morphologically and
kinematically. The observed complex nature of the filament resembles the cold
gas structure predicted by recent numerical simulations of cold chaotic
accretion. A crude estimate suggests that the accretion rate of the cold gas
can be higher than that of hot gas. Within the central 100 pc, we detected a
rotational disk of the molecular gas whose mass is \sim10^{8} M_{\sun}. This
is the first evidence of the presence of massive cold gas disk on this spatial
scale for BCGs. The disk rotation axis is approximately consistent with the
axis of the radio jet on subpc scales. This probably suggests that the cold gas
disk is physically connected to the innermost accretion disk which is
responsible for jet launching. We also detected absorption features in the
HCN(3-2) and HCO(3-2) spectra against the radio continuum emission mostly
radiated by -pc size jet. The absorption features are blue-shifted
from the systemic velocity by 300-600~km~s, which suggests the
presence of outflowing gas from the active galactic nucleus (AGN). We discuss
the relation of the AGN feeding with cold accretion, the origin of blue-shifted
absorption, and estimate of black hole mass using the molecular gas dynamics.Comment: Version 2 (accepted version). 18 pages, 16 figures. Accepted for

Signs of environmental effects on star-forming galaxies in the Spiderweb protocluster at z=2.16
We use multi-object near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy with VLT/KMOS to
investigate the role of the environment in the evolution of the ionized gas
properties of narrow-band selected H emitters (HAEs) in the Spiderweb
protocluster at . Based on rest-frame optical emission lines, H
and [NII]6584, we confirm the cluster membership of 39 of our targets
(i.e. 93% success rate), and measure their star-formation rates (SFR),
gas-phase oxygen abundances and effective radius. We parametrize the
environment where our targets reside by using local and global density
indicators based on previous samples of spectroscopic and narrow-band cluster
members. We find that star-forming galaxies embedded in the Spiderweb
protocluster display SFRs compatible with those of the main sequence and
morphologies comparable to those of late-type galaxies at in the field.
We also report a mild gas-phase metallicity enhancement ( dex) at
intermediate stellar masses. Furthermore, we identify two UVJ-selected
quiescent galaxies with residual H-based star formation and find signs
of extreme dust obscuration in a small sample of SMGs based on their FIR and
H emission. Interestingly, the spatial distribution of these objects
differs from the rest of HAEs, avoiding the protocluster core. Finally, we
explore the gas fraction-gas metallicity diagram for 7 galaxies with molecular
gas masses measured by ATCA using CO(1-0). In the context of the gas-regulator
model, our objects are consistent with relatively low mass-loading factors,
suggesting lower outflow activity than field samples at the cosmic noon and
thus, hinting at the onset of environmental effects in this massive
protocluster.Comment: 29 pages, 15 figures. Accepted for publication in MNRA
Microarray-Based Transcriptional Profiling of Renieramycin M and Jorunnamycin C, Isolated from Thai Marine Organisms
Renieramycin M and jorunnamycin C, two isoquinolinequinone compounds differing only at the C-22 ester side chain, were evaluated for their cytotoxic effects on human colon (HCT116) and breast (MDA-MB-435) cancer cell lines. These two compounds displayed potent cancer cell growth inhibition, their IC50 values reaching nanomolar order. To examine their effects on transcription, we carried out oligonucleotide microarray analysis with focus on the similarities and differences between the two compounds in terms of transcriptional profiles. We found that the down-regulation of PTPRK (protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type K) can be considered as a biomarker responsive to the cytotoxic effects of this class of antitumor marine natural products
