    Get PDF
In their pioneering paper titled Introducing Human Rights and Literary Forms or The Vehicles and Vocabularies of Human Rights Sophia A McClennen and Joseph R Slaughter assert perhaps human rights offered a relatively safe framework for humanities scholars to analyze abuses of power and to consider the grievances of the despised and dispossessed McClennen Slaughter 2009 p 5 In my present explication I shall make a humble attempt to use the safe framework of human rights in order to uphold how Indian Dalit literature offers a window to look at the abuses of power by the upper caste Hindus I shall also try to uphold how Indian Dalit literature in general inscribes the life of the Dalits as the despised and dispossessed in the face of caste-ridden Indian society In other words I shall concentrate to theorize upon the general tendency of Indian Dalit literature through the lens of Human rights Indeed in authentically representing the Indian Dalits as the despised and dispossessed Indian Dalit literature is telling the truth to power and at the same time so doing the Indian Dalit writers are not only building a wall of resistance to the conventional codes of living and writing which upper caste Hindus and canonized writers respectively imposed on the Dalits in Indian society but demanding to have those Six Fundamental Human Rights which the honorable Constitution of India preaches to be realized by every human being in India as wel

    The Dominion Status of India

    Get PDF
An attempt is made in this article about the dominion status of India in pre- independence era. The insecurity and lack of status have a disastrous effect on the whole system of the country. It was no wonder that it has been the root of all social, political and economic problems in past and present times. The primary purpose of dominion status is to develop the social, political and economic growth of the citizens within the territory of India. The dominion status of India relating to the constitution needs more viable to establish a responsible Government and vigilant society. At present we need to have a fresh look towards the dominion status of Pre-Independence India and to transform India into a harmonious, developed and federal nation. This is nothing wrong if we make a new constituent assembly to decide the present and future fate of India from its dominion status. Any changes made in past will not be destructive but constructive so far as our national unity is concerned. This article is useful for academicians, research scholars and general public

Towards understanding of artificial intelligence in accounting profession

    Get PDF
Accountants have embraced the emission of automation over many years to get better the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. But technology has not been able to replace the need for expert knowledge and decision-making. Earlier generations of ‘intelligent systems have usually demonstrated the progressing power of human expertise and the restrictions of machines. In the upcoming decades, intelligent systems must take over more and better decision-making tasks from humans. While accountant has been using technology for a lot of years to improve what they do and deliver more value to businesses, this is an opportunity to reimagine and radically improve the quality of business and investment decisions which is the ultimate purpose of the profession. Accountants, as expert decision-makers, use both ways of thinking they apply their knowledge to specific situations to make reasoned decisions, although also make quick intuitive decisions based on extensive experience in their field.  Today, AI is being used for image recognition, object identification, detection, classification, and automated geophysical feature detection. These are underlying tasks that once required the input of a human. Focusing on how artificial intelligence will impact accountants, AI will very soon help the organization to automate much of the routine and repetitive activities that are undertaken on a daily, weekly or annual basis. It will also help the organization to empower quick decision-making to create smart insights examine huge quantities of data with ease

    MYOFUNCTIONAL APPLIANCES

    Get PDF
A functional appliance uses forces found in nature and directs them in a specific direction towards the teeth and alveolar bone. A class of intraoral gadgets known as myofunctional appliances rely on the forces inherent in the orofacial musculature to work. Generally speaking, they are passive and detachable. Rather than using active forces, they either guide, remove, or transmit the natural forces of the orofacial musculature to repair abnormal dentofacial structure growth and function. Through the medium of the appliance, they either reduce the aberrant forces of the orofacial musculature or convey the favourable muscle forces to the teeth and alveolar bone. In skeletal conditions classified as Class II div 1 and Class III, their main purpose is growth modulation. They are considered primarily for growth modification in skeletal Class II div 1 and Class III skeletal conditions. This article gives an overall view of myofunctional appliances

Intention to Revisit the Chariot Festival (Ratha Yatra): An Experience Economy Approach

    Get PDF
The present study addresses visitors’ experiences at the world-famous Chariot Festival - Ratha Yatra - which is held every year at Shri Kshetra, Puri Dham in the state of Odisha, India. Empirical evidence is used to analyse how each of the experience dimension affects the overall event and to assess the likelihood of revisiting. In order to develop a conceptual framework for the study, a thorough review of the literature was conducted. The conceptual framework was then tested using a quantitative approach, in which data were gathered from a convenience sample of 295 respondents using a self-administered questionnaire. Finally, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used to process and analyse the data. According to the findings of SEM, the entire festival experience is greatly influenced by the experience dimensions of education, entertainment, and escapism. The empirical results demonstrate how the organisers could improve the visitors’ experience and urge them to revisit the festival. The experience dimensions scale can be used as a reference for marketers to determine how effectively a festival or event satisfies customer expectations

    Get PDF
The current study entailed to ascertain the role that Farmers' Interest Groups played in knowledge transfer as well as in increasing agricultural production, productivity, and in turn leading to profitability for the farm sector in the Boudh district of Odisha. For the impact assessment, six FIGs from a range of villages in the Boudh district, including Baghiapada, Saleising, and Palijhar, were randomly selected. The results of this study depicted that member of Farmer Interest Groups adopted scientific agricultural practices and goatery technologies at a greater mean rate (80.63 MPS and 79.63 MPS, respectively) than non-members (59.12 MPS and 60.12 MPS). The aggregate differences in the adoption of crop and goatery farming technology between FIG members and non-members were calculated to be 21.5 and 19.5 MPS, respectively. It was also found that the crop and goatery production under FIG produced a higher yield than the agricultural practices now employed by farmers.  The members became more active in meetings and the adoption of new and scientific farm and goatery technology after learning about the benefits of the FIGs. In addition to enhancing agriculture and animal production, this will also benefit the socioeconomic conditions of the farming community

Type of Deepbite in Orthodontic Treated Patients

    Get PDF
Deep bite is a common malocclusion that can occur in both children and adults. It is defined as an excessive vertical overlap of the upper teeth on the labial surface of the lower teeth when the teeth are in centric occlusion. Deep bite can be classified according to its origin (dental or skeletal), function (true or pseudo), and extent (incomplete or complete). The aetiological factors of deep bite include inherent factors (tooth morphology, skeletal pattern, and malocclusion) and acquired factors (muscular habit, change in tooth position, loss of posterior supporting tooth, and lateral tongue thrusting habit). Deep bite is more common in some racial groupings than others, and it is associated with compromising periodontal health of maxillary anteriors and the palatal tissue. This study found that 58% of orthodontic patients had deep bite, and 71% of those had incomplete deep bite. Females were more likely to have deep bite than males

Revisiting the Justification of Trademark Protection for Single Drug Compositions: A Critical Analysis from a Regulatory Perspective

    Get PDF
Trademarks, which are premised on product differentiation, are alleged to play a divergent role when used on pharmaceutical products: they tend to create an artificial product differentiation for the bioequivalent pharmaceutical products that are marketed as branded, generics, and branded-generic products. It is implied that the companies incorporate trademarks to market their products to different consumers at different prices. However, concerns arise when a company uses multiple trademarks for a single active pharmaceutical ingredient (API); sometimes, the company labels each trademark as treating a different medical condition. This practice of brand proliferation may pose risks to patient safety by confusing patients and health care providers, which can lead to double dosing the drug. Simultaneously, it may also promote artificial product differentiation, allowing few companies to regulate the market for certain treatments without offering any therapeutic difference. Such differentiation is not restricted merely to the branded products, but it is also present in branded-generics, brands of the same formulation marketed by a single company. The magnitude of such differentiation has been observed by the legal scholars and regulatory authorities in different jurisdictions from consumers’ safety and the competition perspective. These pharma company practices raise questions on trademark use and regulation for medicinal products and the trademark’s consequences on consumer safety and market competition. In this context, this paper aims to analyze legal scholars’ views on the use of pharmaceutical product trademarks and the policy interventions toward regulating the use of multiple trademarks by one company for the bioequivalent medicinal products
