The globalization and information tide in the 21st century have promoted the new demand for talents in social development, and the key competences education came into being under such an era. Subsequently, the ā€œkey competencesā€ became the key word of the global educational reform under the background of the new era in the 21st century. The key competences documents promulgated by many countries have obvious consistency and similarity, but they are not completely identical. There may be some problems worthy of reflection behind the differences. As the largest developing country and the largest developed country in the world, the educational views of China and the United States have a profound impact on the world civilization and pattern. As far as English subject is concerned, although English education is foreign language education in China, not native English education or non-native English education in the United States, it is combined with the reality of English education in China. Comparing the similarities and differences in the field of thinking quality between Chinese and American junior middle school English education can promote the reform of domestic English education and improve its quality. Also, many teachers only pay attention to the cultivation of studentsā€™ language knowledge and skills in the English classroom at present, neglecting the cultivation of studentsā€™ thinking quality, so it is difficult to improve studentsā€™ thinking ability and thinking personality traits. Based on this, the paper aims to cultivate and develop thinking quality of junior middle school students from the perspective of key competences of English subject. Through a comparative study of the consistency and difference of thinking quality between Chinese and American junior middle school students by using the methods of literature research and comparative analysis, the paper pays more attention to the problems of thinking quality of junior middle school students in China. As a result, the corresponding solutions are discussed. The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. The research background, research purposes, research significance, research problems and research methods are briefly described. The second chapter is the literature review. It covers the research status and research trend of thinking quality at home and abroad. The third chapter is comparative study. This part briefly introduces the framework of Chinese and American key competences, discusses in detail the consistency and differences of Chinese and American junior high school studentsā€™ thinking quality in the three dimensions of logic, criticism and innovation, and points out the similarities and differences. The fourth chapter explores the essence of differences. From the perspective of English curriculum, this paper explains the reasons for the differences in thinking quality between Chinese and American junior high school students, including classroom teaching, reading and writing. The fifth chapter is a reflection. It discusses the limitations of the cultivation of thinking quality of junior middle school students in China, draws lessons from useful experience, and initially explores the methods of cultivating thinking quality of junior middle school students, in order to enhance the comprehensive strength of the key competences of junior middle school students

Mechanical Behavior of Shale Rock under Uniaxial Cyclic Loading and Unloading Condition

In order to investigate the mechanical behavior of shale rock under cyclic loading and unloading condition, two kinds of incremental cyclic loading tests were conducted. Based on the result of the short-term uniaxial incremental cyclic loading test, the permanent residual strain, modulus, and damage evolution were analyzed firstly. Results showed that the relationship between the residual strains and the cycle number can be expressed by an exponential function. The deformation modulus E50 and elastic modulus ES first increased and then decreased with the peak stress under the loading condition, and both of them increased approximately linearly with the peak stress under the unloading condition. On the basis of the energy dissipation, the damage variables showed an exponential increasing with the strain at peak stress. The creep behavior of the shale rock was also analyzed. Results showed that there are obvious instantaneous strain, decay creep, and steady creep under each stress level and the specimen appears the accelerated creep stage under the 4th stress of 51.16ā€‰MPa. Based on the characteristics of the Burgers creep model, a viscoelastic-plastic creep model was proposed through viscoplastic mechanics, which agrees very well with the experimental results and can better describe the creep behavior of shale rock better than the Burgers creep model. Results can provide some mechanics reference evidence for shale gas development

Applications of CRSIPR/Cas9 in Cancer Research

    Get PDF
The technology based on clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR/Cas9) has been successfully applied to genome editing and has shown a promising future in gene functional studies. Human cancer is a complex disease due to multiple gene mutations, amplifications, deletions, up regulations or down regulations. It is a challenge to generate precise cell or animal cancer models in vitro and in vivo to investigate the complex process of cancer. The CRISPR/Cas9 technology provides a new opportunity to study human cancer by disrupting multiple genes or introducing point mutations at a specific locus of genome, and thus mimicking the features of human cancer in cell or animal models. Here we will review the current status of CRIPSR/Cas9 system and its potential application to cancer research

First-Principles Determination of CO Adsorption and Desorption on Pt(111) in the Free Energy Landscape

Traditionally, catalytic processes are calculated using the total energy approach from density functional theory (DFT), and the method to determine the barriers of the adsorption/desorption from DFT calculations is thus still not available. In this work, we choose CO adsorption/desorption on Pt(111) as a model for two reasons. First, it is often a rate-limiting step in many catalytic reactions. Second, the disagreement between the experiment and DFT calculations on the CO adsorption sites of Pt(111) has been known as ā€œthe CO puzzleā€ in the literature, and to further understand the puzzle is desirable. We introduce a molecular dynamics method within the framework of DFT, allowing us to calculate the free energy barriers of adsorption/desorption without experimental inputs. Our results show that the top site is more preferred for CO adsorption in terms of free energy, which agree with experimental work, but in contrast to the traditional DFT total energy calculations. A delocalized nature of CO chemisorption on the hollow site is found, and the key reason for the discrepancy between the free energy simulations and the total energy calculations is identified, which may have some profound implications in total energy calculations in general

Study on Comparative Advantage of Plateau Characteristic Agriculture in Yunnan

    No full text
To find the highlighted advantage and development space of plateau characteristic agriculture in Yunnan, using qualitative and quantitative combining methods, comparative advantage of plateau characteristic agriculture in Yunnan is evaluated comprehensively. Qualitation takes Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Guangxi adjacent to Yunnan and Southeast Asian countries which are opening focus of ā€œbridgeheadā€ as reference objects, while quantitation takes 32 provinces of whole country except Hongkong and Macao as reference objects, and there are 4 kinds of qualitation indexes and 6 kinds of quantitation indexes containing 44 sub-items. Results show that comprehensive comparative advantage coefficient of plateau characteristic agriculture in Yunnan is 1.55, and it has 3 kinds of comprehensive comparative advantages: diversity, ecological security and time difference complementation. The research results could provide references for agricultural development in Yunnan and other plateau regions
