The Role of Entrepreneurial Orientation and Learning on the Performance of Junior Enterprises

This study aims to develop a model that analyzes the influence of learning orientation (LO) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) as antecedents of performance in junior enterprises (JEs). To this end, a research model was developed and tested through a survey of a sample of 235 presidents of Brazilian Junior Enterprises. Through the Structural Modeling Equation (SME) technique, the effects of each of the variables on the performance of JEs were evaluated. The results indicate that both the EO and LO dimensions have a positive impact on the performance of this type of a company. Therefore, this study advances the understanding of the impact of strategic dimensions in a new context, as well as making direct contributions to these companies and other interested parties to use the results presented to support the construction of new strategies for improving performance

First evidence of resistance to pyrethroid insecticides in Italian Aedes albopictus populations after 26 years since invasion

Aedes albopictus has spread during the last decades all over the world. This has increased significantly the risk of exotic arbovirus transmission (e.g. Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika) also in temperate areas, as testified by the Chikungunya 2007- and 2017-outbreaks in north-east and central Italy. Insecticides represent a main tool for limiting the circulation of these mosquito-borne viruses. Structuring and applying a multicriterial model to support international suppliers choice in a mechanical metal company located in Southern Brazil

O processo de seleção de fornecedores vem ganhando força nas últimas décadas, com as empresas sendo pressionadas a buscar parceiros que forneçam produtos de qualidade, com preços competitivos e entregas confiáveis. Para selecionar bons fornecedores, tanto nacionais quanto internacionais, é necessário analisar critérios quantitativos e qualitativos, os quais variam de acordo com as necessidades e características de cada empresa. Inserido nesse contexto, o presente estudo teve como objetivo estruturar e aplicar um modelo multicritério para auxiliar os gestores de uma empresa do setor metal-mecânico situada no Sul do Brasil no processo de seleção de seus fornecedores internacionais. Os resultados do estudo indicaram o lote mínimo de compra e o lead time de ressuprimento como os principais critérios de seleção de fornecedores e permitiram a identificação do fornecedor mais indicado para a empresa.The supplier selection process has been gaining relevance in the last few decades as companies are pressured to seek out partners that provide products with good quality, competitive prices, and reliable deliveries. In order to select better suppliers, both national and international, it is necessary to analyze quantitative and qualitative criteria, which will vary according to the needs and characteristics of each company. In this context, the present study aimed to structure and apply a multicriteria model to assist the managers of a metal mechanic company located in the South of Brazil in the process of selecting international suppliers. The results of the study indicated the minimum purchase lot and the lead time as the main criteria for selecting suppliers and allowed the identification of the most suitable supplier for the company

Narrativas trans: docência e prostituição

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar as experiências de professoras trans* que atuam na Educação Básica no Estado do Paraná e suas relações com a prostituição. A pesquisa surgiu de questionamento sobre a profissionalização das professoras trans*, em diálogo com os processos de dupla constituição de si, ou seja, como professoras e profissionais do sexo. Por meio de entrevistas narrativas realizadas com seis mulheres trans*, professoras da rede municipal e estadual de ensino, e através de um referencial pós-estruturalista, embasado principalmente em Michel Foucault (1984; 1988; 2008; 2010), Judith Butler (1998; 2000) e Margareth Rago (2008), foi possível perceber que as experiências docentes trans* podem se constituir como um movimento de resistência às rígidas normas de gênero impostas nos ambientes escolares. Isto é, ao mesmo tempo em que essas mulheres são reguladas pela escola e suas normatizações, a presença de seus corpos nesse ambiente produz, também, um questionamento de tais processos da instituição escola

Metodologias de ensino na educação a distância em ciências da saúde: formação lato sensu

The aim was to identify the role of teaching methodologies used in lato sensu courses in Distance Education in Health Sciences. Descriptive qualitative research. Research subjects: professors/coordinators of lato sensu courses in the areas of health in Distance Education. A form on teaching tools and methodologies and a semi-structured interview were used. For data analysis, the content analysis method was used under the concepts of Vygotsky's socio-interactionist theory. The data raised the tools used in the teaching platforms. The analysis of the interviews resulted in four categories. These data showed the difficulties, experiences and expectations of teachers/coordinators. Distance Education provides expansion and deepening of knowledge. There is concern about the quality of teaching, directed to the need to adapt the methodologies applied to the use of different tools. Distance Education provides expansion of access to professional qualification, consequently improving health care for the population.Objetivou-se identificar o papel das metodologias de ensino utilizadas em cursos lato sensu em Educação a Distância nas Ciências da Saúde. Pesquisa qualitativa descritiva. Sujeitos da pesquisa: professores/coordenadores de cursos lato sensu nas áreas da saúde em Educação a Distância. Foram utilizados formulário sobre ferramentas e metodologias de ensino e entrevista semiestruturada. Para análise dos dados foi utilizado o método de análise de conteúdo sob os conceitos da teoria sócio-interacionista de Vygotsky. Os dados levantaram as ferramentas utilizadas nas plataformas de ensino. A análise das entrevistas resultou em quatro categorias. Esses dados mostraram as dificuldades, experiências e expectativas dos professores/coordenadores. A Educação a Distância proporciona expansão e aprofundamento de conhecimento. Existe preocupação quanto a qualidade do ensino, direcionada a necessidade de adequação das metodologias aplicadas ao uso das diferentes ferramentas. A Educação a Distância proporciona ampliação ao acesso à qualificação profissional, consequentemente melhorando a assistência de saúde à população

CONTABILIDADE GERENCIAL: ANÁLISE DAS GRANDES EMPRESAS DO RAMO ALIMENTÍCIO LISTADAS NA BM&FBOVESPA

O estudo desenvolvido tem o objetivo de verificar se as mudanças nas práticas de contabilidade gerencial podem ser encontradas no Relatório da Administração das oito empresas do ramo alimentício de capital aberto, listadas na BM&FBOVESPA na lista das 500 maiores empresas do Brasil pela Revista Exame – Maiores e Melhores de 2015, ano base 2014,por meio da aplicação da Análise de Discurso Crítica (ADC). A metodologia da pesquisa aplicada é considerada como exploratória, ou seja, é um tema pouco explorado e com abordagem predominantemente qualitativa, utilizando a ferramenta Análise de Discurso Crítica. Os resultados do estudo mostram que na análise representacional do discurso, considerando o significado das palavras os quatro estágios da contabilidade gerencial descritos pelo IMAP 1 (IFAC, 1998) foram identificados nos Relatórios da Administração das empresas pesquisadas. No entanto, no estudo das práticas de contabilidade gerencial adotadas nas empresas pesquisadas foi constatada a relação dessas com processo de transformação da gestão familiar para a abertura de capital S/A. Assim, pode-se dizer que foi possível identificar as mudanças nas práticas de contabilidade gerencial, pois todos os estágios da contabilidade gerencial foram identificados nas empresas pesquisadas

de novo assembly and transcriptome analysis of sugarcane leaves from contrasting varieties submited to prolonged water stress.

Sugarcane is an important crop, major source of sugar and alcohol, accounting for two-thirds of the world's sugar production. In Brazil, the sugarcane culture has expanded to areas with prolonged drought seasons, which is constraining its production. In order to identify genes and molecular process related to sugarcane drought tolerance, we performed de novo assembly and transcriptome analysis of two sugarcane genotypes, one tolerant and other sensitive to water stress, submitted to three water deficit condition (30, 60 and 90 days). The de novo assembly of leaves transcriptome was performed using short reads from Illumina RNA-Seq platform, which produced more than 1 billion reads, which were assembled into 177,509 and 185,153 transcripts sequences for the tolerant and sensitive cultivars, respectively. These transcripts were aligned with Sorghum bicolor, Miscanthus giganteus, Arabidopsis thaliana sequences and sugarcane sequences available in public databases. This analysis allowed the identification of a set of sugarcane genes shared with other species, as well as led to the identification of novel transcripts not cataloged yet. Differential expression analysis between genotypes and among days of water deficit were performed with EdgeR and DESeq. The differentially expressed genes were annotated and categorized using Blast2GO. The terms "enzyme regulator" and "transcription regulator" were highlighted within the differentially expressed genes between the contrasting cultivars, suggesting the importance of gene regulation during water deficit. This study found new molecular patterns, which provided hypotheses on plant response to drought and provided important information about genes involved in drought tolerance response.PAG 2016. Conhecimento de professores do ensino fundamental sobre primeiros socorros na infância

The aim was to identify the knowledge of elementary school teachers regarding first aid in childhood. Non-experimental, descriptive and exploratory field research, with a quantitative approach. A questionnaire with closed questions was elaborated, and this was sent to the target population in the model called “snowball”, where, after identifying the target group of the research, they will indicate other possible interviewees, generating a connection network. It was found that the participants had considerable knowledge on the subject. Some participants report participating in annual lectures, courses, online classes and workshops. On the other hand, some participants declared that they had never participated in a first-aid activity. The research showed the need for the first-aid course in the higher education curriculum, since schools and children's recreation spaces need to have teachers prepared to guarantee students a safe environment. Therefore, through the Health at School Program, nursing can contribute to the training of these teachers through health education.Objetivou-se identificar o conhecimento de professores do ensino fundamental quanto aos primeiros socorros na infância. Pesquisa de campo de caráter não experimental, descritivo e exploratório, de abordagem quantitativa. Foi elaborado um questionário com perguntas fechadas, e este foi enviado para a população-alvo no modelo chamado “bola de neve”, onde, após identificar o grupo alvo da pesquisa, estes indicarão outros possíveis entrevistados, gerando uma rede de conexão. Verificou-se que os participantes apresentaram conhecimento considerável quanto ao assunto. Alguns participantes declaram participar de palestras anualmente, cursos, aulas online e oficinas. Por outro lado, alguns participantes declararam nunca terem participado de atividade sobre primeiros-socorros. A pesquisa mostrou a necessidade do curso de primeiros-socorros no currículo do ensino superior, visto que as escolas e espaços de recreação infantil precisam ter professores preparados para garantir aos alunos um ambiente seguro. Diante disso, através do Programa Saúde na Escola, a enfermagem pode contribuir com a capacitação desses professores através da educação em saúde
