How and when fungal endophytes can eliminate the plant growth–defence trade-off: mechanistic perspectives
A central paradigm in plant biology is that there is a trade-off between growth and defence against biotic stresses (Herms & Mattson, 1992; Lind et al., 2013; Karasov et al., 2017; Zust & € Agrawal, 2017; Monson et al., 2022). This paradigm is based on recurrent observations that increased production of chemical defences is associated with compromised plant growth, and it provides obvious limits to increasing the productivity of plants that must also resist pests and pathogens (Ballare & Austin, 2019; Ha et al., 2021; Sestari & Campos, 2021).We have recently challenged this paradigm by proposing that fungal endophytes can simultaneously increase plant growth and defence against biotic stresses (Fig. 1) (Bastıas et al., 2021).Fil: Bastías, Daniel A.. Managing Dynamic User Communities in a Grid of Autonomous Resources
One of the fundamental concepts in Grid computing is the creation of Virtual
Organizations (VO's): a set of resource consumers and providers that join
forces to solve a common problem. Typical examples of Virtual Organizations
include collaborations formed around the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
experiments. To date, Grid computing has been applied on a relatively small
scale, linking dozens of users to a dozen resources, and management of these
VO's was a largely manual operation. With the advance of large collaboration,
linking more than 10000 users with a 1000 sites in 150 counties, a
comprehensive, automated management system is required. It should be simple
enough not to deter users, while at the same time ensuring local site autonomy.
The VO Management Service (VOMS), developed by the EU DataGrid and DataTAG
projects[1, 2], is a secured system for managing authorization for users and
resources in virtual organizations. It extends the existing Grid Security
Infrastructure[3] architecture with embedded VO affiliation assertions that can
be independently verified by all VO members and resource providers. Within the
EU DataGrid project, Grid services for job submission, file- and database
access are being equipped with fine- grained authorization systems that take VO
membership into account. These also give resource owners the ability to ensure
site security and enforce local access policies. This paper will describe the
EU DataGrid security architecture, the VO membership service and the local site
enforcement mechanisms Local Centre Authorization Service (LCAS), Local
Credential Mapping Service(LCMAPS) and the Java Trust and Authorization

Prospects for at CERN in NA62
The NA62 experiment will begin taking data in 2015. Its primary purpose is a
10% measurement of the branching ratio of the ultrarare kaon decay , using the decay in flight of kaons in an unseparated
beam with momentum 75 GeV/c.The detector and analysis technique are described

A precision measurement of direct CP violation in the decay of neutral kaons into two pions
The direct CP violation parameter Re(epsilon'/epsilon) has been measured from
the decay rates of neutral kaons into two pions using the NA48 detector at the
CERN SPS. The 2001 running period was devoted to collecting additional data
under varied conditions compared to earlier years (1997-99). The new data yield
the result: Re(epsilon'/epsilon) = (13.7 +/- 3.1) times 10^{-4}. Combining this
result with that published from the 1997, 98 and 99 data, an overall value of
Re(epsilon'/epsilon) = (14.7 +/- 2.2) times 10^{-4} is obtained from the NA48

ChPT tests at the NA48 and NA62 experiments at CERN
The NA48/2 Collaboration at CERN has accumulated unprecedented statistics of
rare kaon decays in the Ke4 modes: Ke4(+-) ()
and Ke4(00) () with nearly one percent
background contamination. The detailed study of form factors and branching
rates, based on these data, has been completed recently. The results brings new
inputs to low energy strong interactions description and tests of Chiral
Perturbation Theory (ChPT) and lattice QCD calculations. In particular, new
data support the ChPT prediction for a cusp in the invariant mass
spectrum at the two charged pions threshold for Ke4(00) decay. New final
results from an analysis of about 400 rare
decay candidates collected by the NA48/2 and NA62 experiments at CERN during
low intensity runs with minimum bias trigger configurations are presented. The
results include a model-independent decay rate measurement and fits to ChPT

Measurement of the branching ratios of the decays Xi0 --> Sigma+ e- nubar and anti-Xi0 --> anti-Sigma+ e+ nu
From 56 days of data taking in 2002, the NA48/1 experiment observed 6316 Xi0
--> Sigma+ e- nubar candidates (with the subsequent Sigma+ --> p pi0 decay) and
555 anti-Xi0 --> anti-Sigma+ e+ nu candidates with background contamination of
215+-44 and 136+-8 events, respectively. From these samples, the branching
ratios BR(Xi0 --> Sigma+ e- nubar)= (2.51+-0.03stat+-0.09syst)E(-4) and
BR(anti-Xi0 --> anti-Sigma+ e+ nu)= (2.55+-0.14stat+-0.10syst)E(-4) were
measured allowing the determination of the CKM matrix element |Vus| =
0.209+0.023-0.028. Using the Particle Data Group average for |Vus| obtained in
semileptonic kaon decays, we measured the ratio g1/f1 = 1.20+-0.05 of the

A new measurement of direct CP violation in two pion decays of the neutral kaon
The NA48 experiment at CERN has performed a new measurement of direct CP
violation, based on data taken in 1997 by simultaneously collecting K_L and K_S
decays into pi0pi0 and pi+pi-. The result for the CP violating parameter
Re(epsilon'/epsilon) is (18.5 +/- 4.5(stat)} +/- 5.8 (syst))x10^{-4}.Comment: 18 pages, 6 figure
