Inertial and Degradation Delay Model for CMOS Logic Gates
The authors present the Inertial and Degradation
Delay Model (IDDM) for CMOS digital simulation. The
model combines the Degradation Delay Model presented in
previous papers with a new algorithm to handle the inertial effect,
and is able to take account of the propagation and filtering
of arbitrarily narrow pulses (glitches, etc.). The model clearly
overcomes the limitations of conventional approaches
Influence of Clocking Strategies on the Design of Low Switching-Noise Digital and Mixed-Signal VLSI Circuits
This communication shows the influence of clocking schemes on the
digital switching noise generation. It will be shown how the choice of a suited
clocking scheme for the digital part reduces the switching noise, thus alleviating
the problematic associated to limitations of performances in mixed-signal
Analog/Digital Integrated Circuits. Simulation data of a pipelined XOR chain
using both a single-phase and a two-phase clocking schemes, as well as of two nbit
counters with different clocking styles lead, as conclusions, to recommend
multiple clock-phase and asynchronous styles for reducing switching noise
Delay degradation effect in submicronic CMOS inverters
This communication presents the evidence of a degradation effect causing important
reductions in the delay of a CMOS inverter when consecutive input transition are close
in time. Complete understanding of the effect is demonstrated, providing a quantifying
model. Fully characterization as a function of design variables and external conditions
is carried out, making the model suitable for using in library characterization as well as
simulation at a transistor level. Comparison with HSPICE level 6 simulations shows
satisfactory accuracy for timing evaluation.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología TIC 95-009
HALOTIS: high accuracy LOgic TIming simulator with inertial and degradation delay model
This communication presents HALOTIS, a novel high
accuracy logic timing simulation tool, that incorporates a
new simulation algorithm based on different concepts for
transitions and events. This new simulation algorithm is
intended for including the inertial and degradation delay
models. Simulation results are very similar to those
obtained by electrical simulators, and show a higher
accuracy compared to conventional delay models
implemented in current logic simulators.Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología TIC 2000-135
Degradation Delay Model Extension to CMOS Gates
This contribution extends the Degradation Delay Model (DDM), previously
developed for CMOS inverters, to simple logic gates. A gate-level
approach is followed. At a first stage, all input collisions producing degradation
are studied and classified. Then, an exhaustive model is proposed, which defines
a set of parameters for each particular collision. This way, a full and accurate
description of the degradation effect is obtained (compared to HSPICE) at the
cost of storing a rather high number of parameters. To solve that, a simplified
model is also proposed maintaining similar accuracy but with a reduced number
of parameters and a simplified characterization process. Finally, the complexity
of both models is compared
Gate-Level Simulation of CMOS Circuits Using the IDDM Model
Timing verification of digital CMOS circuits is a
key point in the design process. In this contribution we present
the extension to gates of the Inertial and Degradation Delay
Model for logic timing simulation which is able to take account
of the propagation of arbitrarily narrow pulses. As a result, the
model is ready to be applied to the simulation and verification
of complex circuits. Simulation results show an accuracy similar
to HSPICE and greatly improved precision over conventional
delay models.Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología TIC 2000-135
Control of medical records classified by pathologies through a web application
Introduction: web applications are currently essential for data management in any organization, they allow the user to access and use information from anywhere in the world. The use of web applications has led to the streamlining of several processes. Objective: to use a web application developed using free software for the control and classification of medical records for different pathologies in the Health and Life Medical Center of Ibarra, Ecuador. Method: a qualitative-quantitative mixed modality research was applied, which allowed us to identify the real needs of the patients and professionals of this health home. The use of historical research helped to know each of the processes that were taken into account in the generation of the clinical history and how to classify them by pathologies. With the help of bibliographic research, it was possible to compile the necessary definitions to argue the theoretical basis of the article; Through the survey and interview, patient dissatisfaction was identified due to factors such as waiting time, search deficiency and, even worse, not being registered. Results: the agility in the patient registration processes and each one with their respective medical history allows the specialists to continue with their diagnosis in the next appointments. Conclusions: the web application effectively streamlines the processes related to medical records, which contributes to the control and classification of said documentation
Study of antitumor activity in breast cell lines using silver nanoparticles produced by yeast
In the present article, we describe a study of antitumor activity in breast cell lines using silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) synthesized by a microbiological method. These Ag NPs were tested for their antitumor activity against MCF7 and T47D cancer cells and MCF10-A normal breast cell line. We analyzed cell viability, apoptosis induction, and endocytosis activity of those cell lines and we observed that the effects of the biosynthesized Ag NPs were directly related with the endocytosis activity. Moreover, Ag NPs had higher inhibition efficacy in tumor lines than in normal lines of breast cells, which is due to the higher endocytic activity of tumor cells compared to normal cells. In this way, we demonstrate that biosynthesized Ag NPs can be an alternative for the treatment of tumors.Support from Universidad Nacional de San Luis, to the Agencia Nacional de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica, from Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas

New World Civitas, Contested Jurisdictions and Intercultural Conversation in the Construction of the Spanish Monarchy
Jurisdictional frontiers were created, contested, and negotiated among a wide range of actors, including native Americans and Europeans, with reference to the cities founded in Castilla del Oro (roughly present-day Panama). This research deals, first, with the reshaping of the concept of a city in the New World, based on its inhabitants' sense of civitas. It analyses, secondly, the creation and redefinition of jurisdiction during political conflicts and, third, the construction and maintenance of jurisdiction through local relations with indigenous populations described as "conversation". The analysis of the creation and preservation of local jurisdictions allows for an interpretation of the complexities involved in the configuration of political power and political space from below in the territories claimed by the Spanish Monarchy.Art Empir
