Mulheres sobreviventes de violência exercida por parceiros íntimos – a difícil transição para a autonomia

Objetivo Conhecer as trajetórias que as mulheres percorrem desde a entrada até à saída de relações de violência exercida por parceiros íntimos (VPI), e identificar as fases do processo de transição. Método Utilizou-se um paradigma construtivista com recurso à grounded theory. Salvaguardaram-se as orientações éticas da OMS em matéria de investigação sobre violência doméstica. A análise centrou-se em narrativas de 28 mulheres sobreviventes de VPI, obtidas em entrevistas em profundidade. Resultados Referem que as trajetórias percorridas pelas mulheres foram atravessadas por questões de género, (auto)silenciamento, esperança e sofrimento, o que ultrapassou o fim da VPI. Conclusão O processo de transição é constituído por quatro fases: entrada - enamora-se e fica aprisionada; manutenção - auto-silencia-se, consente e permanece na relação; decisão de saída - enfrenta o problema e luta pelo resgate; (re)equilíbrio - (re)encontra-se com uma nova vida. Method We utilized a constructivist paradigm based on grounded theory. We ensured that the ethical guidelines of the World Health Organization for research on domestic violence were followed. The analysis focused on narratives of 28 women survivors of IPV, obtained from in-depth interviews. Results The results showed that the trajectories experienced by women were marked by gender issues, (self) silencing, hope and suffering, which continued after the end of the IPV. Conclusion The transition process consists of four stages: entry - falls in love and becomes trapped; maintenance - silences own self, consents and remains in the relationship; decides to leave - faces the problems and struggles to be rescued; (re) balance - (re) finds herself with a new life. Proposta de um Painel de Informações Sintéticas sobre as Universidades: Aplicação do Raio-X na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

As universidades são organizações peculiares, cujas informações operacionais e orçamentárias assumem complexidade significativa. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar a proposta de um painel de informações institucionais básicas de universidades brasileiras, a partir de uma concepção sintética e ilustrada. A pesquisa que embasou a proposta apresenta natureza aplicada, para a qual foi adotada uma abordagem predominantemente qualitativa. Foi realizada a revisão de literatura e a análise documental de relatórios diversos da Instituição utilizada no estudo de caso. A partir da identificação de informações divulgadas, foram selecionadas algumas consideradas básicas e relevantes para o público em geral, diante da restrição de espaço própria da abordagem sintética de painel. A partir disto, foi proposto um painel intitulado Raio-X , cuja aplicação pode ser realizada para todas as Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior do Governo Federal Brasileiro (IFES), face à demanda de publicações mínimas comuns

Composição e Expressividade das Despesas com Educação na Execução do Orçamento do Governo Federal do Brasil

O objetivo deste artigo é identificar e analisar os valores, a composição e a expressividade das despesas empenhadas na função educação do orçamento do Governo Federal do Brasil referentes aos anos de 2006 e 2007, comparando-as às demais despesas públicas relevantes. Para isto, é feita a identificação, apresentação e análise de informações da Secretaria do Tesouro Nacional (STN). A pesquisa é de natureza aplicada, para a qual foi adotada uma abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. Quanto aos objetivos, a pesquisa é exploratória. Foi realizada a revisão de literatura e a análise documental de demonstrativos contábeis. Os dados analisados permitiram perceber que as despesas com a função de governo educação estão entre as mais expressivas do orçamento federal, constituindo a quinta maior, com valor de R$17,3 bilhões em 2006 e R$ 21,5 bilhões em 2007. Todavia, seu valor apresenta expressividade baixa, representando 2,2% em 2006 e 2,6% em 2007

Metabolic, Ventilatory, and Hygric Physiology of the Gracile Mouse Opossum (Gracilinanus agilis)

We present the first complete study of basic laboratory‐measured physiological variables (metabolism, thermoregulation, evaporative water loss, and ventilation) for a South American marsupial, the gracile mouse opossum (Gracilinanus agilis). Body temperature (Tb) was thermolabile below thermoneutrality (Tb = 33.5°C), but a substantial gradient between Tb and ambient temperature (Ta) was sustained even at Ta = 12°C (Tb = 30.6°C). Basal metabolic rate of 1.00 mL O2 g−1 h−1 at Ta = 30°C conformed to the general allometric relationship for marsupials, as did wet thermal conductance (5.7 mL O2 g−1 h−1 °C−1). Respiratory rate, tidal volume, and minute volume at thermoneutrality matched metabolic demand such that O2 extraction was 12.4%, and ventilation increased in proportion to metabolic rate at low Ta. Ventilatory accommodation of increased metabolic rate at low Ta was by an increase in respiratory rate rather than by tidal volume or O2 extraction. Evaporative water loss at the lower limit of thermoneutrality conformed to that of other marsupials. Relative water economy was negative at thermoneutrality but positive below Ta = 12°C. Interestingly, the Neotropical gracile mouse opossums have a more positive water economy at low Ta than an Australian arid‐zone marsupial, perhaps reflecting seasonal variation in water availability for the mouse opossum. Torpor occurred at low Ta, with spontaneous arousal when Tb > 20°C. Torpor resulted in absolute energy and water savings but lower relative water economy. We found no evidence that gracile mouse opossums differ physiologically from other marsupials, despite their Neotropical distribution, sympatry with placental mammals, and long period of separation from Australian marsupials

ANÁLISE DE IMAGEM DE CAMPANHA OFICIAL CONTRA HIV/AIDS NO BRASIL: UM ESTUDO QUALITATIVO

Objetivo: analisar a imagem dos cartazes veiculados pelo Ministério da Saúde do governo brasileiro na campanha em combate a AIDS no carnaval, à luz da perspectiva dos estudos de gênero. Método: estudo qualitativo e de análise de imagem e em mídias sociais. Realizou-se análise dos cartazes da campanha oficial contra AIDS/HIV no Carnaval de 2018, com base nos passos da análise de imagem de Penn. Resultados: no inventário denotativo identificaram-se fotografias e ilustrações de figuras humanas, roupas, adereços de carnaval e frases. As fotografias ocupam lugar central e as ilustrações ocupam o entorno da imagem. As frases ocupam a parte central e inferior da imagem e traz mensagens verticalizadas. Os temas abordados foram a prevenção do Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana. Conclusão: existe uma ambiguidade de discursos em que coexistem uma linguagem horizontalizada embasada na estratégia da prevenção combinada e uma linguagem verticalizada expressa nos verbos no imperativo.Descritores: HIV. An Algorithm Proposal To Oral Feeding In Premature Infants

The transition from tube feeding, to oral feeding is one of the most difficult for preterm infants. It’s a continuous but slow process, which demands physiological development respiratory independence and the ability to coordinate suction, breathing and swallowing. Getting the premature to develop his/her feeding skills is the big challenge to the professionals that work in the NICU. Know the characteristics of preterm infants, essentials for oral feeding; to know the nurses’ opinion on nursing interventions, that promote the transition of gavage feeding for oral feeding in preterm infants; to contribute to the development of a proposal for a guide to oral feeding in preterm infants were our objectives. As a methodology, qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study. Semistructured interviews were performed to neonatal nurses. Content analysis to treat data was used. Results - Weight, gestational age, physiological stability, sucking coordination, swallowing and breathing, and feeding involvement, are fundamental parameters to begin oral feeding. Positioning the baby, reflexes stimulation, control stress levels, monitoring the temperature and the milk flow, are nursing interventions that promotes the development of feeding skills. The existence of a guide not only gives security but also promotes the respect for the developmental stages of the preterm infant, the standard of care, encourages learning, reduces the subjectivity and fosters the evidence based practice, nevertheless, it ought to have a simple structure, be practical/judicious and small. We point out a misleading treatment in a recent paper published in this Journal [Eur. Phys. J. C (2018)78:106] regarding solutions for the Schr\"{o}dinger equation with a anharmonic oscillator potential embedded in the background of a cosmic string mapped into biconfluent Heun equation. This fact jeopardizes the thermodynamical properties calculated in this system.Comment: 3 page

Piecing together terminology in bioarchaeology

Recent data has shown that there is a great diversity of vocabulary related with bioarchaeology and funerary archaeology employed both in technical and scientific documents produced in Portugal. This phenomenon reflects, the lack of an uniform criteria in the application of concepts reflecting the circumstances and scientific preferences of the author, and as such revealing the subjectivity associated with the gathering of on field information during archaeological work. The lack of a standard framework limits data interpretation, by restricting a systematic approach to the information gathered and, consequently, impairing the comparisons amongst bio-demographic and sociocultural main features of Past Populations. Identifying this problem and its consequences led to the work that is currently being developed and that comprises the standpoint of reference authors in this matter, considering their contribution and presenting a proposal for the definition of the selected concepts. This strategy intends to produce a uniform language to be adopted in technical reports. It’s our hope that this approach could lead to a better understanding of archaeological field reports, increasing their informative potential that could later feed a bioarchaeological database.
