Política de la gran burguesía en México frente a la crisis

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

Detection of in utero cannabis exposure by umbilical cord analysis.

According to the 2014 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 5.3% of pregnant women smoked marijuana in the past month. This prevalence is expected to increase as a growing number of states and countries are now considering legalization. Although the umbilical cord is becoming a useful objective tool to detect in utero drug exposure, currently data about analytical methods and its utility to detect cannabis exposure are scarce. The objective of this work was to develop a method for the determination of -9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), 11-hydroxyTHC (THC-OH), 11-nor-9-carboxy-THC (THCCOOH), 8-{esc}gb{esc}s-11-dihydroxyTHC (THC-diOH), THC and THCCOOH glucuronides, and cannabidiol (CBD) in the umbilical cord by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) with dual ionization source. Umbilical cord samples (0.5 g) were homogenized in methanol and extracted by solid-phase extraction. Reversed-phase chromatographic separation was performed in 14 minutes, and 2 transitions per analyte were monitored in multiple reaction monitoring mode. Method validation included linearity (1-10 to 20-200 ng/g), precision (4.1%-23.4%), accuracy (87.5%-111.4%), matrix effect (-54.8% to -5.8%), extraction efficiency (25%-45.6%), limits of detection and quantification (1-10 ng/g), and endogenous (n = 5) or exogenous interferences (not detected). The method was applied to 13 authentic samples from cannabis-exposed newborns, which meconium samples had tested positive for cannabis. Twelve cord specimens tested positive for THCCOOH-glucuronide (1.6-19.1 ng/g). We developed and validated a specific and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of THC, its metabolites, including THC and THCCOOH glucuronides, and CBD in umbilical cord samples by LC-MS/MS. The analysis of authentic samples showed the usefulness of umbilical cord to detect cannabis in utero exposure

Trátase dun resumo estendido da ponencia[Abstract] The study aims to describe the guidelines to support user interface design for develop technology centered in the specific learning style, abilities and needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This research study describes the conclusions drawn following a process of interactive design of software, ASD Module, In-TIC PC. Four groups of participants were involved in the process: specialists with experience in the intervention with people with ASD, specialists with experience in the development and design of technology for people with disability, children with ASD and their families (n = 39). The techniques used to formalize the collection of information from different groups of participants were observation, interview, group discussions and a questionnaire. The results of the study target the development of a design guide that includes the evidence, the basic ideas and suggestions deduced from the design and development process of the ASD Module. This translates into a list of rules with suggestions to consider in the design and adaptation of technology for children with ASD. These guidelines of interface design provide useful information for researchers, developers, social and healthcare professionals and families, with the aim of offering alternatives for children with ASD and facilitating the understanding of daily life.Xunta de Galicia; ED431G/01Xunta de Galicia; GRC2014/049Red Gallega de Investigación sobre Cáncer Colorrectal; ED431D 2017/23Red Gallega de Investigación sobre Cáncer Colorrectal; ED431D 2017/1

[Abstract] The current study sought to determine the association of sleep with HRQOL and physical function among older nursing home residents. Participants were 37 older adults attending or residing in a semi-urban nursing-home facility in Galicia, Spain (70.3% cognitively normal, 29.7% cognitively impaired, aged 84.1±8.0, 81.1% women) who completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the 5-level EuroQol-5D, a measure of HRQOL, and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) Core Sets for Sleep, a measure of physical functional. After adjustment for age, poor (PSQI score ≤ 14) and/or worse sleep quality (continuous PSQI score) was associated with several indices of lower HRQOL, including greater immobility (b = 0.19, p = 0.012) difficulty completing self-care (b = 0.23, p < 0.001) and daily activities (b = 0.18, p = 0.004), more severe anxiety/depression (b = 0.10, p = 0.042), and a lower overall health index (b = 0.06, p = 0.001). Further, poor/worse sleep quality was associated with several indices of functional impairment, including greater difficulty maintaining body position (b = 0.32, p = 0.004), walking (b = 0.17, p = 0.001), and moving around (b = 0.45, p = 0.009).GERIA-TIC Project, Project co-funded by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) through the Connect PEME Program (3rd edition) (IN852A 2016/10) and EU FEDER funds, Collaborative Genomic Data Integration Project (CICLOGEN). Free adaptive tessellation strategy of bézier surfaces

    Get PDF
[Abstract] Rendering of Bézier surfaces is currently performed by tessellating the model on the GPU and rendering the highly detailed triangle mesh. Whereas non-adaptive strategies apply the same tessellation pattern to the whole surface resulting in a uniform tessellation of the patch, adaptive approaches make it possible to reduce the number of triangles generated without a loss of quality. However, the most usual approaches to adaptive tessellation have little flexibility and do redundant computations and memory accesses, as each sample is independently evaluated in the Domain Shader of the DirectX11 pipeline. In this paper an adaptive tessellation technique based on the exploitation of the spatial coherence data within each surface is presented. The GPU implementation of this technique is simple and efficient and, as consequence, the tessellation of complex models can be performed in real-time. The analysis of the GPU performance and limitations for different adaptive degree of the tessellation performed suggest innovations in future graphics card generations for supporting a larger degree of adaptivity without a penalty
