    Get PDF
The convergence between the proliferation of new technologies and the rise of management has led to the birth of a new concept: online reputation. This research comes before the need to shape a theoretical framework that strengthens the concept and professionalizes its management. To this end, is being carried out a compilation of definitions and conceptual models from different disciplines that make up the diagnosis on the state of the object of study. Despite the multidisciplinary perspective of the investigation, the leading hypothesis frames online reputation in the specific field of corporate communication. The aim is to show that the reputation online forms part of the corporate reputation and needs to be managed with the same indicators. Thus, the models of online reputation must be aligned with the overall strategy of the company’s reputation. For this reason is refuted the reductionist vision that focus their presentations in the search engine optimization and analysis of the views on social networks. The horizontal nature of the concept matrix —corporate reputation—, coupled with the technical requirements of the online field; allow the rise for the development of a wide range of professional roles. In the research appear the details of the functions of these professionals and also some analyses of the existing monitoring and management tools. Online environment leads to a new way of relationship between companies and stakeholders, based on a multidirectional communicative process, which favours the democratisation of the conversation and contributes to the development of the society

Treball Final de Grau en Publicitat i Relacions Públiques. Codi: PU0932. Someone once said that the little things make us great and probably he was right. If we think for a while on the small details, what is not so easy to find out is what makes each fact be special and unique. When talking about discoveries, first thing comes to our minds is a trip. We show our most adventure side and the will to travel to most recondite place seizes us. Spain is, in this regard, an undiscovered gem, it is not only enormous in a literal sense but also made up of so many cities, villages, little towns that we would need to devote our entirely life to visit the very last corner of the old bull’s skin that is the map of Spain. This project will focus especially in the Valencian Community, which counts over 500 small villages but with an amazing potential. The cultural, gastronomic, historical wealth...Each of those small corner makes this Community have a special essence that be unique. The aim of this final degree project is to ease the quest to the most adventurous and to be able to establish the location the different places of the Community. We want to pay tribute to the culture, whatever be its strong point (gastronomic, historical, artistic...) to make them attractive and recognizable elements appellation of origin. Ultimately, our objective is to create an events enterprise to promote and develop the territory trademark of the different places of our Community. As example of what we want to get with our project, we will set up an event in order to stablish the “Benicarló” trademark, a village located to the north of Castellon, and to do this, we will take into account its leading product: The Artichoke

The MgaSpn transcriptional regulator contributes to the virulence of Streptococcus pneumoniae. It is thought to be a member of the Mga/AtxA family of global regulators. MgaSpn was shown to activate in vivo the P1623B promoter, which is divergent from the promoter (Pmga) of its own gene. This activation required a 70-bp region (PB activation region) located between both promoters. In this work, we purified an untagged form of the MgaSpn protein, which formed dimers in solution. By gel retardation and footprinting assays, we analysed the binding of MgaSpn to linear double-stranded DNAs. MgaSpn interacted with the PB activation region when it was placed at internal position on the DNA. However, when it was positioned at one DNA end, MgaSpn recognized preferentially the Pmga promoter placed at internal position. In both cases, and on binding to the primary site, MgaSpn spread along the adjacent DNA regions generating multimeric protein-DNA complexes. When both MgaSpn-binding sites were located at internal positions on longer DNAs, electron microscopy experiments demonstrated that the PB activation region was the preferred target. DNA molecules totally or partially covered by MgaSpn were also visualized. Our results suggest that MgaSpn might recognize particular DNA conformations to achieve DNA-binding specificityBFU2009-11868 to A.B.] and [CSD2008-00013- INTERMODS to M.E.] from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and [PIE-201320E028 to A.B.] from the Spanish National Research Council. MgaSpn and H-NS: Two unrelated global regulators with similar DNA-binding properties

Global regulators play an essential role in the adaptation of bacterial cells to specific niches. Bacterial pathogens thriving in the tissues and organs of their eukaryotic hosts are a well-studied example. Some of the proteins that recognize local DNA structures rather than specific nucleotide sequences act as global modulators in many bacteria, both Gram-negative and -positive. To this class of regulators belong the H-NS-like proteins, mainly identified in γ-Proteobacteria, and the MgaSpn-like proteins identified in Firmicutes. H-NS and MgaSpn from Escherichia coli and Streptococcus pneumoniae, respectively, neither have sequence similarity nor share structural domains. Nevertheless, they display common features in their interaction with DNA, namely: (i) they bind to DNA in a non-sequence-specific manner, (ii) they have a preference for intrinsically curved DNA regions, and (iii) they are able to form multimeric complexes on linear DNA. Using DNA fragments from the hemolysin operon regulatory region of the E. coli plasmid pHly152, we show in this work that MgaSpn is able to recognize particular regions on extended H-NS binding sites. Such regions are either located at or flanked by regions of potential bendability. Moreover, we show that the regulatory region of the pneumococcal P1623B promoter, which is recognized by MgaSpn, contains DNA motifs that are recognized by H-NS. These motifs are adjacent to regions of potential bendability. Our results suggest that both regulatory proteins recognize similar structural characteristics of DNA

    Get PDF
The settling of a disease in an animal is not only the consequence of the invasion by a pathogen, but also the immune state of the individual is decisive. The innate immunity is the first response of an animal to a foreign microorganism, trying to eliminate the infection or to contain it until a more specific and effective immune response develops, the adaptive immunity. The main components of the innate immunity are the physical, chemical and biological barriers, the phagocytic cells, certain lymphocytes and natural killer cells or NK, and soluble factors, including the components of the complement and the cytokines that participate in phagocytosis and inflammation. The innate immune response is non-specific, that is to say, it lacks immunological memory and it develops by non-specific mechanisms, unable to distinguish the antigenic differences of the different types of microorganisms. In fact, a general response exists to protect the body as a whole: the local inflammatory processes and the systemic “acute phase response”, coordinated by the cytokines secreted by macrophages, which create more suitable organic conditions to fight against the different pathogens. But, in addition to this generalized response to different foreign agents, a characteristic innate response for each type of pathogen (bacteria and their products, fungi, viruses, and parasites) is going to develop.

Empirical Evidence Of Verdoorns Law In Mexican Manufacturing

    Get PDF
In this document we use the model called Verdoorns Law that has been widely favored with the empirical evidence as being able to explain the persistence of divergences in growth rates, which establishes a positive relation between product growth and productivity. The goal is to estimate the Verdoorns coefficients for the 32 states in Mexico for the period of 1985-2004 through the use of the Ordinary Least Square method (OLS) and the pool data technique for an added analysis at subsector levels of the manufacturing industry. The purpose of this paper is to explain regional divergences in Mexico by identifying those factors that influence economic growth and that would allow the proposal of regional policies that can help reduce the observed differences, and by contributing to the development of the country as a whole. Consistent results were found with Verdoorns Law by detecting increasing returns in the manufacturing industry, both by regions and by subsectors. The states that show lower Verdoons coefficients (higher returns to scale) are definitely the ones that have grown the most
