Menschen mit Behinderung haben ebenso wie Menschen ohne Behinderung das Bedürfnis auf ein gleichberechtigtes, selbstbestimmtes Leben in der Gesellschaft. Sie möchten genauso wie ihre Mitmenschen alle ihre Lebensbereiche selbst gestalten können. Hier setzt Peer Counseling als Beratungsmehtode der Selbstbestimmt-Leben-Bewegung an. Peer Counseling ist eine Beratungsmethode von Menschen mit Behinderung für Menschen mit Behinderung. Dabei werden Erfahrungen und Informationen unter ähnlich Betroffenen weitergegeben. Peer Counseling geht über die klassische Beratung hinaus, indem eine Reihe von Zuhör- und Gesprächstechniken angewendet werden. Den ratsuchenden Personen werden jedoch keine Ratschläge erteilt, sie sollen sich ihre Lösungen vielmehr selbst erarbeiten. Darüber hinaus findet Peer Counseling nicht mehr nur in der Selbstbestimmt-Leben-Bewegung, sondern auch in anderen Bereichen, wie z.B. in der beruflichen Rehabilitation, Anwendung. Methodisch ist diese Beratungsmethode noch wenig erforscht. Deshalb soll diese Diplomarbeit einen Einblick darüber verschaffen, wie sie in Österreich angewendet wird. Der empirische Teil enthält dazu eine qualitative Fallstudie über den Verein BIZEPS. Dazu wurden mit vier KundInnen und vier BeraterInnen des Vereins BIZEPS Interviews durchgeführt. Die Interviews wurden einer Interviewanalyse nach Mayring unterzogen. Victoria und William Bruckner sind seit den Anfängen Teil der Selbstbestimmt-Leben-Bewegung. Mit diesen ExperInnen aus den USA wurde ein Interview geführt. Weiters wurde eine Beobachtung einer Beratung bei BIZEPS durchgeführt. Das Ergebnis der Untersuchung ist, dass dem Peer Beratungsprozess eine große Bedeutung beigemessen wird. Vorwiegend zeichnet das Peer Counseling sich durch seine individuelle Handhabung, durch Austausch ähnlicher Erfahrungen bzw. Situationen und durch den Rückgriff auf Erfahrungen aus. Generell kann gesagt werden, dass Menschen mit Behinderung relativ unzufrieden mit Beratungen sind, die von Menschen ohne Behinderung angeboten werden. Der Erfolg des innovativen Peer Counseling Ansatzes liegt in der Umgehung dieser Problematik, indem Menschen mit ähnlichem Hintergrund die Bratung durchführen. Weiters zeigt sich der Erfolg dieser Methode in meiner Untersuchung daran, dass drei von vier KundInnen diese Form der Beratung jederzeit wieder in Anspruch nehmen würden. Die BeraterInnen leisten ihre Arbeit mit sehr großen persönlichen Einsatz und Engagement.People suffering from disabilities have, just like people without disabilities, the desire to lead a self determined life within our society. Ultimately, the want to self determine every part and aspect of their life. This is where peer counseling, a counseling method within the independent living movement, comes into play. Peer counseling is a counseling method designed by people with disabilities offered to people with disabilities. The basic concept is to share experiences and pass on information among peers. Peer counseling comprises and extension of classical counseling approaches by applying additional alternative listen-ing and dialog techniques. However, clients are not given advice but the rather have to come up with answers themselves. Also, the peer counseling technique is not only used within the independent living movement but also in other fields, e.g. occupational rehabili-tation. Methodically, the peer counseling approach has been studied little so far. Thus, it was the aim of this thesis, to show how peer counseling is used in Austria. The empirical part includes a qualitative case study on the corporation BIZEPS. Therefore, four custom-ers and four counselors have been interviewed. The interviews were analyzed according to Mayring. Since the beginnings of peer counseling Victoria and William Bruckner are part of this movement. With these two US natives an interview was conducted. Furthermore, an observation of a consultation at BIZEPS was performed. The result of this study is that peer counseling is of great importance for the community. Predominant features are an exchange of experiences respectively situations among peers. Generally speaking, people with disabilities are relatively dissatisfied with counseling methods that are offered by people without disabilities. The innovative peer counseling approach circumvents this ma-jor problem by using peers as counselors. Three out of four clients would make use of this counseling method again. This fact shows that the perception of peer counseling and the quality of the counseling approach is judged positive. Sintesis Poli N-Isopropilakrilamida (PNIPA)/Polityrosin (PTYR) Interpenetrating Polymer Networks (IPNs) Bertanda Iodium-125

Saat ini perkembangan polimer telah semakin maju, berbagai aplikasi polimer telah dikembangkan baik di sektor energi, pangan maupun kesehatan. PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125 dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber terapi kanker. PNIPA/PTYR merupakan polimer peka temperatur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sintesis PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125. Polityrosin ditandai dengan iodium-125 kemudian secara simultan direaksikan dengan monomer N-isopropilakrilamida melalui polimerisasi radikal bebas dengan inisiator amonium persulfat (APS) dan tetrametiletilenediamin (TEMED) untuk memperoleh PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125. Kemurnian radiokimia PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125 diukur dengan krom atografi lapis tipis (KLT) dengan fasa gerak 2 propanol: 1 butanol: 0,2 M NH4OH. Selain Itu, stabilitas PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125 diuji pada media air. PNIPA/PTYR IPNs telah berhasil ditandai dengan iodium-125 dengan rendemen penandaan sebesar 37,6 ± 4,2 % (n = 3). Hasil pengamatan visual, ditunjukkan bahwa polimer mengalami Perubahan sifat pada temperatur 32 oC sampai dengan 34°C. Hasil H-NMR hanya menunjukkan spektrum dari polimer PNIPA. Berdasarkan pemeriksaan KLT, kemurnian radiokimia PNIPA/PTYR IPNs bertanda iodium-125 adalah 95,93%. Pengujian stabilitas polimer bertanda iodum-125 pada media air pada T = 37°C selama 2 minggu menunjukkan bahwa iodium-125 yang masih tertahan pada polimer adalah 71,3 ± 6,2 %

Background. Early identification of potential epilepsy surgery candidates is essential to the treatment process. Aim. To evaluate the clinical applicability of the ILAE definition of drug resistant epilepsy and its potential in identifying surgical candidates earlier compared to three established “older” definitions of drug resistant epilepsy. Material and Methods. Retrospective analysis of 174 patients who underwent epilepsy surgery between 1998 and 2009. Clinical factors and course of disease were extracted from patients' charts. Drug resistant epilepsy was classified according to four definitions and the time until fulfillment of criteria compared. Results. Mean time to fulfillment of criteria of drug resistant epilepsy ranged from 11.8 (standard deviation (SD) 9.8) to 15.6 years (SD 11.3). Time to drug resistance was significantly longer applying the only definition, requiring failure of three antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) (Canada definition), whereas time to fulfillment of all other definitions did not differ. Fifty percent of all patients experienced a seizure free period of 1 year prior to being classified as drug resistant, 13% entered another 1-year remission after fulfilling any criteria for drug resistance. Conclusion. We conclude that the ILAE definition identifies drug resistant epilepsy, with similar latency like two of three formerly used definitions. It is an easy applicable tool to minimize the delay of referral to a specialized center. Intermittent remissions delay assessment of drug resistance for all definitions and 13% of patients enter a remission despite established drug resistance.(VLID)177180
