La danza come movimento ed espressione nelle immagini poetiche della Commedia di Dante

Il saggio intende interrogarsi sul ruolo della danza nella Commedia dantesca e sul rapporto fra immagine e poesia. Dall'analisi dei versi del poeta, le immagini di danza emergono attraverso le tre Cantiche ora in occorrenze o specifiche citazioni ora con allusione al loro carattere metaforico, ma spesso anche come espressione dei "moti del corpo come moti dell'animo" con riferimento alla trattatistica antica e moderna e alla luce, infine del pensiero di Aby Warburg e della elaborazione teorica del suo tempo.The essay intends to question the role of dance in Dante's Comedy and the relationship between image and poetry. From the analysis of the poet's verses, the images of dance emerge through the three Canticles, now in occurrences or specific quotations now alluding to their metaphorical character, but often also as an expression of "motions of the body as motions of the soul" with reference to the ancient and modern treatises, and ultimately to the light of Aby Warburg's thought and the theoretical elaboration of his time

Analogies, contaminations and  assonances between certain aspects of the thought of Aby Warburg and Walter Benjamin are still at the center of the contemporary theoretical debate. In the absence of tangible and documented exchanges, the similarities between the two scholars can be found in the structure of their most original and significant works, the Atlas of Memory and the Passagen-Werk, and in the adoption of the fragment as a conceptual language. Hybris and Sacrificium. Aby Warburg and Ovid’s Metamorphoses in Imagery

The dialectic between Hybris and Sacrifice – which is deeply rooted in Greek tragedy – is ever-present in Ovid’s Metamorphoses and influenced the final years of Aby Warburg’s research towards the end of the 1920s. The German scholar had chosen the survival of Classical Culture, Nachleben der Antike, as the basis for his research, and found Ovid’s Metamorphoses to be a fundamental source of study on the original value of myths.
