Disordered eating behaviours and correlates in yoga practitioners: a systematic review

PurposeYoga has been increasingly used as a complementary therapy for eating disorders. However, it is still not clear whether yoga is effective in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, as some studies suggest that yoga practitioners show elevated levels of disordered eating behaviours. The goal of this systematic review is, thus, to analyse the occurrence of disordered eating behaviours and correlates in yoga practitioners.MethodPRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews were used. Search was conducted in several databases and specific journals.ResultsTwelve articles, all cross-sectional, were identified, following PRISMA guidelines. Results across studies were inconsistent. Yoga practice was usually associated with healthier eating behaviours, lower disordered eating symptoms, and higher positive body image and body satisfaction, suggesting that yoga practitioners may be at a lower risk of developing eating disorders. Análise fatorial confirmatória da versão portuguesa da escala multidimensional de perfecionismo de Frost

This study aimed to analyse the psychometric properties and dimensionality of the Portuguese version of the Multidimensional Scale of Frost Perfectionism (FMPS) using the confirmatory factor analysis. The sample consisted of 832 high school and college students (65.0% female) with a mean age of 19.5. The adjustment indexes of confirmatory factor analysis permitted to consider the multidimensional model of six factors the best representation of the data, replicating the original solution. The results showed good reliability and appropriate validity. The internal consistency of the scale presented satisfactory coefficients (Cronbach's alpha=.853). The test-retest method suggested a good temporal stability of the scale (r=.779). Globally the FMPS is a reliable and validated instrument for the study of perfectionism in Portugal.Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar as propriedades psicométricas e a dimensionalidade da versão portuguesa da Escala Multidimensional de Perfecionismo de Frost (FMPS) recorrendo à análise fatorial confirmatória. A amostra foi constituída por 832 estudantes do ensino secundário e universitário (65.0% do sexo feminino), com uma média de idades de 19.5 anos. Tradução, adaptação e validação para português do Questionário Type 1 Diabetes Nutrition Knowledge Survey

Tese de mestrado, Doenças Metabólicas e Comportamento Alimentar, 2020, Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de LisboaA literacia em saúde é por muitos considerada uma vantagem para melhorar a capacitação das pessoas dentro dos domínios da saúde, prevenção de doenças e promoção da saúde. Em indivíduos com DM tipo 1 está relacionada não só com os conhecimentos sobre a doença como também a autoeficácia, os comportamentos de autocuidado e o controlo metabólico. Com o objetivo de contribuir para melhor entender o nível de literacia em conhecimentos gerais e específicos dos indivíduos com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 1, foi adaptado, traduzido e validado para a língua portuguesa o questionário Nutrition Knowledge Survey (NKS) com a respetiva autorização dos autores originais. De forma a proceder à validação do NKS, este foi traduzido, retraduzido e adaptado culturalmente antes da sua validação. O questionário foi aplicado a uma amostra de conveniência, de 80 indivíduos com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 1, acompanhados na consulta multidisciplinar de Diabetes do Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca, E.P.E. O NKS é um instrumento autoaplicável, desenvolvido originalmente na língua inglesa, composto por um total de 23 questões distribuídas por 4 dimensões (Secção I: Alimentação saudável, Secção II: Contagem de Hidratos de Carbono, Secção III: Resposta da glicemia aos alimentos e Secção IV: Leitura de rótulos nutricionais), que avaliam os conhecimentos nutricionais gerais e específicos nos indivíduos com DM tipo 1. A amostra foi constituída por 43 pessoas do sexo feminino (53,8%) e 37 do sexo masculino (46,3%). Todos os participantes são de nacionalidade portuguesa, tendo idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 45 anos, com uma média de idades de 27,2 anos e desvio-padrão de 7,4 anos. A verificação da consistência interna do NKS – versão portuguesa foi avaliada através da análise do Coeficiente alfa de Cronbach do questionário completo verificando-se que, o questionário traduzido detém uma boa consistência interna (0,84). Efetuou-se também uma análise multivariada que demonstrou uma associação inversa significativa entre os conhecimentos nutricionais dos indivíduos com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 1 e o valor da HbA1c (r= -0,46, ρ<0,01). Em conclusão, os resultados obtidos fornecem fortes evidências de que o instrumento é uma medida a ponderar na avaliação da literacia, quer em âmbito clínico quer em âmbito de investigação.Health literacy is widely considered an asset to improve the training of people within the domains of health, disease prevention and health promotion. In people with type 1 Diabetes, it is related not only to the knowledge about the disease as well as self efficacy, self-care behaviors and metabolic control. In order, to contribute to better understand the level of literacy in general and specific knowledge of individuals with type 1 Diabetes, the Nutrition Knowledge (NKS) questionnaire was adapted, translated and validated into Portuguese with the respective permission of the original authors. In order to proceed with the validation of the NKS, it was translated, retranslated and culturally adapted before its validation. The questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample of 80 individuals with type 1 Diabetes, followed up in the multidisciplinary Diabetes consultation at Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca, E.P.E. The NKS is a self-administered instrument, originally developed in the English, consisting of a total of 23 questions spread over 4 domains (Section I: Healthful eating, Section II: Carbohydrate counting, Section III: Blood glucose response to foods and Section IV: Nutrition label readings), which assess general and specific nutritional knowledge in people with type 1 Diabetes. The sample consisted of 43 females (53.8%) and 37 males (46.3%). All participants are Portuguese, aged between 18 and 45 years, with an average age of 27.2 years and standard deviation of 7.4 years. The verification of the internal consistency of the NKS - Portuguese version was evaluated through the analysis of the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the complete questionnaire, verifying that the translated questionnaire has a good internal consistency (0.84). A multivariate analysis was also performed, which demonstrated a significant inverse association between the nutritional knowledge of individuals with type 1 Diabetes and the HbA1c value (r = -0.46, ρ <0.01). In conclusion, the results obtained provide strong evidence that the instrument is a measure to be considered in assessing literacy, both in the clinical and research fields

A test of the 2 × 2 model of perfectionism with perceived distress, cognitive emotion regulation, and perfectionist cognitions

Based on within-person combinations of self-oriented perfectionism (SOP) and socially prescribed perfectionism (SPP), the 2 x 2 model asserts four personality subtypes: Non-Perfectionism, Pure SOP, Pure SPP, and Mixed Perfectionism. We tested whether these subtypes can be distinctively associated with perceived distress, cognitive emotion regulation (CER) strategies, and perfectionist cognitions. Results of multiple regressions with 213 adults (72.8% female, M = 34.07, SD = 12.04 years old) revealed that Pure SOP (compared with Non-Perfectionism) and Mixed Perfectionism (compared with Pure SPP) perceived similar levels of distress but reported more perfectionist cognitions and both adaptive and maladaptive CER strategies. The two subtypes associated with high SPP reported less adaptive CER strategies than the Pure SOP and Non-Perfectionism. The presence of the SOP facet did not mitigate the detrimental effects of the SPP facet on negative outcomes. On the contrary, the SOP facet seems to have a positive influence on the adoption of adaptive CER strategies and helps attenuate the detrimental effects of the SPP. Studies about the 2 x 2 model of perfectionism should focus on comparing the predicted values between each subtype of perfectionism.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Tradução de manuais de instruções sobre equipamentos para pessoas com deficiência visual

O presente Relatório foi elaborado após a conclusão do estágio curricular em Tradução realizado na Electrosertec, e desenvolveu-se a partir de dois vetores fundamentais, a saber, a análise semântica da tradução de Manuais de Instruções de equipamentos específicos para pessoas com deficiência visual, designados por “produtos de apoio”, bem como uma reflexão linguística sobre a tradução de um folheto sobre a literacia Braille. Afigurou-se da maior importância a elaboração de glossários para cada Manual traduzido, com o propósito de criar recursos terminológicos próprios, não só para a empresa, mas também para futuros estagiários e outros tradutores nesta área tecnológica, tão carecida de terminologia em PE. Sublinhe-se que o presente relatório consiste numa reflexão linguística baseada nas opções de tradução que fiz nos textos de chegada em linha com os textos de partida, pelos prismas semântico, sintático e pragmático, o que configura uma abordagem inédita no domínio da tradução técnica na esfera do português europeu.The present report was written after my having completed the curricular Internship in Translation at Electrosertec, which had two main objectives: the first was the semantic analysis of the translation of several User Manuals of devices and products specific for blind and visually impaired people, known as “support products”, and the second was the linguistic reflexion on the translation of a leaflet on Braille Literacy. The compilation of glossaries prior to the elaboration of the present report represents an important step, aiming to contribute to the creation of tools and resources not only for Eletrosertec but also for future translation trainees and other translators working in this field of technical translation, where the lack of terminology in European Portuguese is so deeply felt. It should be highlighted that it consists of a linguistic reflexion based upon my own translation options in the target texts in line with the source texts. It focuses specifically on semantic, syntactic and pragmatic aspects of my translation solutions from English into European Portuguese, which represents an unprecedented approach in the field of translation in the European Portuguese sphere

A sustentabilidade ambiental na indústria da moda: as identidades do slow fashion e do fast fashion

Dissertação de mestrado apresentada à Escola Superior de Comunicação Social como parte dos requisitos para obtenção de grau de mestre em Gestão Estratégica das Relações Públicas.A responsabilidade social das organizações representa uma área útil na construção da sua identidade, do seu propósito e da sua reputação. Este trabalho debruça-se, em particular, na sua evolução rumo à criação de valor partilhado, em particular, na relação com a identidade corporativa no contexto da sustentabilidade ambiental. O estudo encontra-se dividido em duas partes. A primeira consiste na revisão bibliográfica, através de contributos teóricos sobre os conceitos chave. A segunda parte corresponde a estudo comparativo entre marcas de slow fashion e fast fashion, no qual são exploradas as identidades corporativas, o posicionamento sobre sustentabilidade ambiental, assim como a sua comunicação, com o objetivo de compreender de que modo a criação de valor se reflete na identidade das marcas de vestuário slow fashion no contexto da sustentabilidade ambiental. Os resultados revelaram que o conceito de criação de valor partilhado se reflete na identidade das marcas slow fashion, através da linearidade existente entre os valores e missão corporativos com a sustentabilidade ambiental comunicada.ABSTRACT: The social responsibility of organizations represents a useful area in the construction of their identity, purpose and reputation. This study focuses, in particular, on its evolution towards the shared value creation, in particular, on its relationship with corporate identity in the context of environmental sustainability. The study is divided into two parts. The first consists of a literature review, through theoretical contributions on key concepts. The second part focus on a comparative study between slow fashion and fast fashion brands, in which corporate identities, the position on environmental sustainability, as well as their communication are explored, with the intention of understanding how value creation is reflected in the identity of slow fashion clothing brands in a context of environmental sustainability. The results revealed that the concept of shared value is reflected in the identity of slow fashion brands, through the linearity between the values and corporate mission, along with environmental sustainability communicated.N/

Interacção e conhecimento: um estudo de caso que analisa a história de um projecto

Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Doutor em Ciências da EducaçãoA matemática é frequentemente rejeitada pelos alunos e associada a elevadas taxas de insucesso académico (Abrantes, 1994). Assume um papel essencial nos percursos académicos e profissionais, configurando as trajectórias de participação ao longo da vida (César, submetido). Assumimos uma abordagem histórico-cultural (Vygotsky, 1934/1986), considerando a aprendizagem como situada no tempo e no espaço (César, 2003; Lave & Wenger, 1991). Utilizamos o trabalho colaborativo como mediador e facilitador da participação legítima dos alunos nos processos de aprendizagem (César, 2007), permitindo-lhes expressar voz(es) e atribuir sentidos (Bakhtin, 1929/1981; Hermans, 2001). Este empowerment facilita as transições entre as culturas em que participam (Abreu, Bishop, & Presmeg, 2002; César, 2009a, in press), promovendo o acesso aos artefactos culturais da matemática. Assumindo uma abordagem interpretativa, realizámos um estudo de caso intrínseco (Stake, 1995/2007), sobre o projecto Interacção e Conhecimento (IC). Este projecto teve como principal objectivo estudar e promover as interacções sociais, nomeadamente entre pares, criando cenários de educação formal mais inclusivos (César, 2009a). Os participantes são os 97 investigadores e professores/investigadores da equipa central do IC, dos quais 69 são professores/investigadores que leccionavam a disciplina de Matemática ou disciplinas afins, respectivos alunos, encarregados de educação, avaliadores externos, outros observadores e outros agentes educativos. Os dados foram recolhidos através de recolha documental (corpus empírico do IC) e conversas informais. Procedemos a uma análise de conteúdo sucessiva e aprofundada (Hamido & César, 2009), de índole narrativa (Clandinin & Connelly, 1998). A análise de dados ilumina três tipos de transições: (1) teóricas; (2) metodológicas; e (3) das práticas. Analisamos estes tipos de transições, bem como a forma como elas se inter-relacionam. Procuramos ainda, através de um par paradigmático do projecto IC, ilustrar o modo como estas transições configuram – e são configuradas – pela forma como a equipa do IC interpreta os dados recolhidos, iluminando algumas evidências empíricas.Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologi

Entre Leiras - Entre realidades e Representações

No lugar de Passinhos de Cima, freguesia de Paredes de Viadores e concelho de Marco de Canaveses, de Março a Outubro de 2017, realizei não só uma pesquisa, como também um documentário de carácter etnográfico que, por motivos de dimensão não anexei a este projeto, mas alojei no seguinte link: https://youtu.be/9-2v5XQxFcA. A relação entre o que entra e o que sai deste local, desde o que lá se absorve ao que de lá se projeta é o foco deste projeto. Quando me refiro a absorver, refiro-me à forma como os ciclos da natureza marcam a vida das pessoas que lá vivem e o quanto isso influencia a forma como estas se acabam por auto-representar e revelar a sua própria natureza e identidade. Neste texto irei abordar não só o modo como se articulou todo este processo, como também a forma como, na busca de uma análise e de uma escrita, o desenvolvi e representei em filme. Sistema de gestão em saúde e segurança no trabalho: estudo de caso sobre liderança e participação dos trabalhadores

O presente Projeto tem como título o “Sistema de Gestão em Saúde e Segurança no Trabalho: estudo de caso sobre liderança e participação dos trabalhadores”, com vista à conclusão do Mestrado de Segurança e Higiene no Trabalho, do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal. Este projeto tem como principal objetivo analisar e descrever a implementação das alterações necessárias na estrutura do processo de liderança, consulta e participação dos trabalhadores, tendo em consideração atender aos requisitos da NP ISO 45001:2019 e a Lei 102/99 (alterada pela Lei 3/2014) na organização em estudo. O desenvolvimento do presente projeto, envolve um trabalho de pesquisa, sobre o tema, a legislação, a organização e a sua atividade em particular, pretendendo melhorar o seu processo de consulta e participação dos trabalhadores da organização.This Project has as theme the "Occupational Health and Safety Management System: a case study on leadership and worker participation", in order to conclude the Master of Safety and Health at Work of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.
