AbstractThis study focuses on the institutionalisation, functions, and current positions of Fine Arts Faculties of the state universities in Turkey. The basis of the study consists of historical bakground in terms of examination of the case. The main concepts of the study, namely “art”, “art education”, institutionalisation of art education“, and “art education from the 1980s” have been explained under the light of the periodical process of becoming a separate faculty. A case analysis has been aimed by linking institutionalisation of education and Foundation of Higher Education, which is the reflection of the military interference of September, 12th, which dominated Turkey's social, political and cultural life. In addition, as an extension of this process, the rapid multiplication of fine arts faculties together with the emergence of qualitative problems almost simultaneously has also been discussed

2\u27-Aminomethyl-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT-MeNH2) showed unsatisfactory results when its polymerization occurred in organic solvent in our previous report. Therefore, a water-soluble EDOT derivative was designed by using hydrochloric modified EDOT-MeNH2 (EDOT-MeNH2·HCl) and electropolymerized in aqueous solution to form the corresponding polymer with excellent electrochromic properties. Moreover, the polymer was systematically explored, including electrochemical, optical properties and structure characterization. Cyclic voltammetry showed low oxidation potential of EDOT-MeNH2·HCl (0.85 V) in aqueous solution, leading to the facile electrodeposition of uniform the polymer film with outstanding electroactivity. Compared with poly(2′-aminomethyl- 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT-MeNH2), poly(2′-aminomethyl-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene salt) (PEDOT-MeNH3 +A-) revealed higher efficiencies (156 cm2 C-1), lower bandgap (1.68 eV), and faster response time (1.4 s). Satisfactory results implied that salinization can not only change the polymerization system, but also adjust the optical absorption, thereby increase the electrochromic properties

This thesis aims to prove the need for a new doppelganger concept and to form the framework of the new doppelganger concept via a comparative archetypal analysis of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and H.G. Well's The Invisible Man by using Victorian Age's unique features as parameters. In order to use archetypal analysis effectively, the origins and historical progress of collective unconscious and archetypes are investigated thoroughly. This thesis reveals the relation between Victorian Age and Gothic literature, since the literary works of Victorian Age to be analysed belong to Gothic genre, after it provides background information about the origins and historical progress of Doppelganger concept, and a detailed introduction of Victorian Age. The unique qualities of Victorian Age, the monstrosity and society, male dominance and masculinity, and Victorian morality and the pursuit of hedonism are utilised as parameters to analyse the aforementioned Victorian literary works. To sum up, this thesis is an attempt to prove the need of a new Gothic doppelganger concept unique to Victorian Age via a comparative archetypal analysis including the parameters aforementioned, and to form the framework of Victorian Gothic doppelganger concept

Poly(dibenzo-18-crown-6) (Poly(DB18C6)) was synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) using a mixture of acetonitrile and dichloromethane as solvent and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBABF4) or tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF6) as supporting electrolyte. The anodic polymerization of DB18C6 was investigated using in-situ ESR and in-situ UV-VIS spectroscopic techniques. Spectroelectrochemical (SPEL) properties and thermal analysis of the resulting polymers have been investigated using UV-VIS, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Furthermore, new compounds consisting of bis(2-thienyl) methyl (I and II) and bis(2-thienyl) ethyl (III) units linked by polyether bridges have been synthesized and their electrochemical polymerization was performed via constant potential electrolysis (CPE) in an electrolytic solution containing 0.1 M TBAPF6 dissolved in CH3CN. Also, I and II were polymerized via chemical oxidation which yielded broken ?-conjugated polymers except for III. The polymers were characterized using 1H-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. In addition, copolymers of III with thiophene (Th) and pyrrole (Py) were studied with cyclic voltammetry (CV). SPEL behaviors of the products were investigated using UV-VIS spectroscopic technique.Ph.D. - Doctoral Progra

During 12-week growing trial aimed to evaluate the effects of replacement of fishmeal and fish oil in practical diets for gilthead seabream with a complementary mixture of vegetable proteins (soybean, wheat and corn) and oils (soybean and rapeseed), in terms of growth performance, feed utilization and apparent digestibility of nutrients. Fifteen homogenous groups of 180 sea bream each (mean initial body weight: 190.4±5.4 g) were stocked in 2000-L tanks and fed one of five experimental pelleted diets formulated to be isonitrogenous, isolipidic and isoenergetic. A control diet (Control) was formulated with practical ingredients to contain 49% protein, 20% fat and 24 kJ/g energy. Two other diets were formulated in order to replace 40 and 60% of fish meal by increasing levels of selected plant-protein (PP) ingredients and fish oil (FO) (PP40FO and PP60FO, respectively). Based on these two last diets, two others were formulated in which fish oil was replaced at a 62.5% level by a mixture of soybean and rapeseed oils (Vegetable Oil-VO) (PP40VO and PP60VO). Growth of gilthead seabream, expressed either as weight gain or daily growth index was not significantly affected by the replacement at either 40 or 60% of fishmeal by plant-protein sources. At 40% fishmeal replacement level, the further replacement of 62.5% of fish oil by vegetable oils had no effect on growth performance. However, the replacement of 60% fishmeal and 62.5% replacement of fish oil caused reduction in weight gain slightly, but essentially a significant decrease in feed efficiency (FE). Growth performance of gilthead seabream during grow-out was sustained by a practical diet formulation containing as little as 12% of fish meal protein
