    A Review of Progress Towards Simulation of Arc Quenching in Lightning Protection Devices Based on Multi Chamber Systems

    Two distinct modes of follow current suppression were observed in multi-chamber systems (MCS) under lightning overvoltage: Zero Quenching (ZQ) and Impulse Quenching (IQ). Sufficiently lower erosion of electrodes and evaporation of discharge chamber walls makes the IQ more preferable as a mechanism of arc quenching. Since experimental search for best MCS design is both difficult and expensive numerical modeling is considered as a prospective method for geometry optimization. Several steps were made towards development of efficient arc model. This article highlights most important results of arc quenching simulation and current status of arc model development

    Under the market conditions, the most important role in economic subject belongs to the financial aspect – therefore, effective decisions at the micro-level are predetermined by financial policy, as realization of the strategy in the tactics of finances management is not possible if there’s none. Finances of economic subject are a component of the financial system of the Russian Federation. Together with the state financial policy, which is aimed at overcoming of consequences of the global financial crisis, there is financial policy of separate economic subjects and corporate structures. For the purpose of study of financial policy, the authors deem it expedient to clarify the definition of “policy”. According to M.     GIS technologies for selecting location of dams in the flood control systems

    Many floodplains are excluded from development because the floods cause considerable damage to people’s lives and properties. Systems of hydraulic engineering structures for flood protection working with hydropower facilities are analysed to solve the problem of reducing the flood control volume of hydropower station. Methods of reducing the risk of flooding in the river basin by means of a distributed system of detention self-regulated dams are discussed. A geoinformation method used to justify the selection of parameters of such dams, primarily location of dam that minimize impact on the environment (ecological factor), is presented. In the present study, a system of multipurpose flood protection self-regulated dams is analysed as the measures for mitigation of flash floods in the Far Eastern region of Russia

    Активная герпесвирусная инфекция у детей раннего возраста

    Under observation were 122 young children (up to 3 years of age), who were identified markers of active forms of herpes virus infections. Markers were studied by PCR in blood, smear from tonsils, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid, urine with determination DNA of HSV 1—2 type, EBV, CMV, HHV-6 type, antigens were determined by indirect immunofluorescence in blood lymphocytes, by ELISA in serum — antibodies of the classes IgM and IgG. Herpesvirus infection occurs at an early age and contributes to the formation of various infectious and somatic pathology. In children from birth to 1 year of life, CMV infection in the form of a mono-infection with symptoms of CNS damage, generalized forms, neutropenia is more common (79% of cases). In children aged 1 to 2 years, in 76% of cases, HHV-6 infection is detected, more often in mixed variants. Patients of this group are observed with a long subfebrile condition, neutropenia, infectious mononucleosis. In the third year of life, there is an increase in infection of children with EBV, with approximately the same frequency of EBV and HHV-6, most often in mixed forms, the clinical manifestations of which is a typical symptom complex of infectious mononucleosis. At this age, the active persistence of herpes viruses contributes to the formation of a group of frequently ill children. Thus, when examining young children with various pathologies, it is necessary to diagnose herpes virus infection using modern methods to detect its active forms for the timely administration of etiotropic therapy.Под наблюдением находилось 122 ребенка раннего возраста (до 3 лет жизни), у которых были выявлены маркеры активных форм герпесвирусных инфекций (ГВИ). Исследовались маркеры методом ПЦР в крови, мазке с миндалин, слюне, ликворе, моче с определением ДНК ВПГ 1—2 типа, ЭБВ, ЦМВ, ВГЧ-6 типа, методом непрямой реакции иммунофлюоресценции (НРИФ) и быстрым культуральным методом (БКМ) определяли антигены указанных герпесвирусов в лимфоцитах крови, методом ИФА в сыворотке крови — антитела классов IgM и IgG. Установлено, что инфицирование герпесвирусами происходит в раннем возрасте и способствует формированию различной инфекционной и соматической патологии. У детей от рождения до 1 года жизни чаще (в 79% случаев) выявляется ЦМВ-инфекция в виде моно-инфекции с симптомами поражения ЦНС, генерализованными формами, нейтропенией. У детей в возрасте от 1 года до 2 лет жизни в 76% случаев выявляется ВГЧ-6-инфекция, чаще в микст вариантах. Больные этой группы наблюдаются с длительным субфебрилитетом, нейтропенией, инфекционным мононуклеозом. На третьем году жизни отмечается рост инфицирования детей ЭБВ, приблизительно с одинаковой частотой ЭБВ и ВГЧ-6, чаще в микст формах, клиническим проявлением которых является типичный симптомокомплекс инфекционного мононуклеоза. В этом возрасте активная персистенция герпесвирусов способствует формированию группы часто болеющих детей. Таким образом, при обследовании детей раннего возраста с различной патологией необходима диагностика герпесвирусной инфекции с применением современных методов выявления ее активных форм для своевременного назначения этиотропной терапии

    The development of a boron/nitrogen-centered frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) with remarkably high water tolerance is presented. As systematic steric tuning of the boron-based Lewis acid (LA) component revealed, the enhanced back-strain makes water binding increasingly reversible in the presence of relatively strong base. This advance allows the limits of FLP's hydrogenation to be expanded, as demonstrated by the FLP reductive amination of carbonyls.     The investigation is concerned with the automated control of the internal conditions of hydraulic power stations and hydroelectric pumped storage power plants under conditions of process control systems. The purpose of the work is to develop the procedure for short-term and on-line control of hydraulic units under conditions of changing strategy of power station control depending on power and water management conditions and environment. The author has developed new procedures for short-term automated control of hydraulic unit conditions including the stages of analysis of the control object, selection of criteria corresponding to the operating situation and optimization of internal conditions. The author has developed the complex of applied programs for the process control subsystem on the basis of the algorithms of short-term and on-line control of hydraulic units using a complex criterion with due regard for environment limitations.
