Stress-Induced Epinephrine Enhances Lactate Dehydrogenase A and Promotes Breast Cancer Stem-Like Cells
Chronic stress triggers activation of the sympathetic nervous system and drives malignancy. Using an immunodeficient murine system, we showed that chronic stress–induced epinephrine promoted breast cancer stem-like properties via lactate dehydrogenase A–dependent (LDHA-dependent) metabolic rewiring. Chronic stress–induced epinephrine activated LDHA to generate lactate, and the adjusted pH directed USP28-mediated deubiquitination and stabilization of MYC. The SLUG promoter was then activated by MYC, which promoted development of breast cancer stem-like traits. Using a drug screen that targeted LDHA, we found that a chronic stress–induced cancer stem-like phenotype could be reversed by vitamin C. These findings demonstrated the critical importance of psychological factors in promoting stem-like properties in breast cancer cells. Thus, the LDHA-lowering agent vitamin C can be a potential approach for combating stress-associated breast cancer
Measurements of peri-prostatic adipose tissue by MRI predict bone metastasis in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer
ObjectivesTo investigate the role of MRI measurements of peri-prostatic adipose tissue (PPAT) in predicting bone metastasis (BM) in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer (PCa).MethodsWe performed a retrospective study on 156 patients newly diagnosed with PCa by prostate biopsy between October 2010 and November 2022. Clinicopathologic characteristics were collected. Measurements including PPAT volume and prostate volume were calculated by MRI, and the normalized PPAT (PPAT volume/prostate volume) was computed. Independent predictors of BM were determined by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis, and a new nomogram was developed based on the predictors. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to estimate predictive performance.ResultsPPAT and normalized PPAT were associated with BM (P<0.001). Normalized PPAT positively correlated with clinical T stage(cT), clinical N stage(cN), and Grading Groups(P<0.05). The results of ROC curves indicated that PPAT and normalized PPAT had promising predictive value for BM with the AUC of 0.684 and 0.775 respectively. Univariate and multivariate analysis revealed that high normalized PPAT, cN, and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) were independently predictors of BM. The nomogram was developed and the concordance index(C-index) was 0.856.ConclusionsNormalized PPAT is an independent predictor for BM among with cN, and ALP. Normalized PPAT may help predict BM in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer, thus providing adjunctive information for BM risk stratification and bone scan selection
Tasks for Agent-Based Negotiation Teams:Analysis, Review, and Challenges
An agent-based negotiation team is a group of interdependent agents that join
together as a single negotiation party due to their shared interests in the
negotiation at hand. The reasons to employ an agent-based negotiation team may
vary: (i) more computation and parallelization capabilities, (ii) unite agents
with different expertise and skills whose joint work makes it possible to
tackle complex negotiation domains, (iii) the necessity to represent different
stakeholders or different preferences in the same party (e.g., organizations,
countries, and married couple). The topic of agent-based negotiation teams has
been recently introduced in multi-agent research. Therefore, it is necessary to
identify good practices, challenges, and related research that may help in
advancing the state-of-the-art in agent-based negotiation teams. For that
reason, in this article we review the tasks to be carried out by agent-based
negotiation teams. Each task is analyzed and related with current advances in
different research areas. The analysis aims to identify special challenges that

Observation of a ppb mass threshoud enhancement in \psi^\prime\to\pi^+\pi^-J/\psi(J/\psi\to\gamma p\bar{p}) decay
The decay channel
is studied using a sample of events collected
by the BESIII experiment at BEPCII. A strong enhancement at threshold is
observed in the invariant mass spectrum. The enhancement can be fit
with an -wave Breit-Wigner resonance function with a resulting peak mass of
and a
narrow width that is at the 90% confidence level.
These results are consistent with published BESII results. These mass and width

are observed for the first time using
\psip events accumulated at the BESIII detector at the BEPCII
collider. The branching fractions are measured to be , , and , for , , and ,
respectively. The observation of decays into a pair of vector
mesons , and indicates that the hadron
helicity selection rule is significantly violated in decays. In
addition, the measurement of gives the rate of doubly
OZI-suppressed decay. Branching fractions for and

First Observation of the Decays chi_{cJ} -> pi^0 pi^0 pi^0 pi^0
We present a study of the P-wave spin -triplet charmonium chi_{cJ} decays
(J=0,1,2) into pi^0 pi^0 pi^0 pi^0. The analysis is based on 106 million
\psiprime decays recorded with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII electron
positron collider. The decay into the pi^0 pi^0 pi^0 pi^0 hadronic final state
is observed for the first time. We measure the branching fractions B(chi_{c0}
-> pi^0 pi^0 pi^0 pi^0)=(3.34 +- 0.06 +- 0.44)*10^{-3}, B(chi_{c1} -> pi^0 pi^0
pi^0 pi^0)=(0.57 +- 0.03 +- 0.08)*10^{-3}, and B(chi_{c2} -> pi^0 pi^0 pi^0
pi^0)=(1.21 +- 0.05 +- 0.16)*10^{-3}, where the uncertainties are statistical

Precision measurement of the branching fractions of J/psi -> pi+pi-pi0 and psi' -> pi+pi-pi0
We study the decays of the J/psi and psi' mesons to pi+pi-pi0 using data
samples at both resonances collected with the BES III detector in 2009. We
measure the corresponding branching fractions with unprecedented precision and
provide mass spectra and Dalitz plots. The branching fraction for J/psi ->
pi+pi-pi0 is determined to be (2.137 +- 0.004 (stat.) +0.058-0.056 (syst.)
+0.027-0.026 (norm.))*10-2, and the branching fraction for psi' -> pi+pi-pi0 is
measured as (2.14 +- 0.03 (stat.) +0.08-0.07 (syst.) +0.09-0.08 (norm.))*10-4.
The J/psi decay is found to be dominated by an intermediate rho(770) state,
whereas the psi' decay is dominated by di-pion masses around 2.2 GeV/c2,
