    Get PDF
The characteristics of bottom-gate bottom-contact organic thin film field-effect transistors (OTFTs) with 70 nm thick films of solution processed non-peripherally octahexyl-substituted nickel tetrabenzo triazaporphyrin (6NiTBTAP) molecules as active layers on silicon substrates are experimentally studied and the results are compared with the similary configured transistors using the corresponding nickel phthalocyanine (6NiPc) compound. 6NiTBTAP transistors are found to exhibit improved performance over 6NiPc transistors in terms of greater saturation hole mobility, two orders of magnitude higher on/off ratio and lower threshold voltage. This enhanced performance of 6NiTBTAP OTFTs over 6NiPc devices is attributed to improved surface morphology and large grain size of the active 6NiTBTAP film

On the feasibility of collaborative green data center ecosystems

    Get PDF
The increasing awareness of the impact of the IT sector on the environment, together with economic factors, have fueled many research efforts to reduce the energy expenditure of data centers. Recent work proposes to achieve additional energy savings by exploiting, in concert with customers, service workloads and to reduce data centers’ carbon footprints by adopting demand-response mechanisms between data centers and their energy providers. In this paper, we debate about the incentives that customers and data centers can have to adopt such measures and propose a new service type and pricing scheme that is economically attractive and technically realizable. Simulation results based on real measurements confirm that our scheme can achieve additional energy savings while preserving service performance and the interests of data centers and customers.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

© 2011 National Institute for Materials ScienceSolution-processed films of 1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octakis(hexyl) copper phthalocyanine (CuPc6) were utilized as an active semiconducting layer in the fabrication of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) in the bottom-gate configurations using chemical vapour deposited silicon dioxide (SiO2) as gate dielectrics. The surface treatment of the gate dielectric with a self-assembled monolayer of octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) resulted in values of 4×10−2 cm2 V−1 s−1 and 106 for saturation mobility and on/off current ratio, respectively. This improvement was accompanied by a shift in the threshold voltage from 3V for untreated devices to −2V for OTS treated devices. The trap density at the interface between the gate dielectric and semiconductor decreased by about one order of magnitude after the surface treatment. The transistors with the OTS treated gate dielectrics were more stable over a 30-day period in air than untreated ones.Technology Strategy Board, UK (Project No: TP/6/EPH/6/S/K2536J)

    Get PDF
Background: Medical intensive care unit is a type of intensive care unit that takes care of a range of medical illnesses with patients who are seriously ill and/or suffer from severe chronic illnesses. These patients are usually prescribed multiple drugs. Use of antimicrobial agents and injectable medications in setting of MICU is high as compared with other class of drugs and other hospital settings respectively. Periodic evaluation of drug utilization pattern needs to be done to enable suitable modifications in prescription of drugs to increase the therapeutic benefit and decrease the adverse effects. There could be changes in drug utilization pattern due to changes in disease pattern, development of newer drugs, resistance to antimicrobial agents. Hence comparison of past and present data needs to be done to find out the changes that occurred in drug utilization pattern over the years. Methods: Data was collected from June 2021 to Dec 2021 for prospective arm and June 2014 to December 2014 for retrospective arm was obtained from MICU of tertiary care hospital and Medical Record Department. Drug utilization pattern was analysed and compared with appropriate statistical tests. Results: Most common cause of MICU admission was infective diseases (71% and 67% respectively in retrospective and prospective arm). The drug prescribed frequently was pantoprazole and antimicrobial was ceftriaxone in both the study arms. Half of the drugs were prescribed by generic names in both arms. Conclusions: There was no change observed in drug utilization pattern and disease pattern in patients admitted to medical intensive care unit over the years in our institute

Computer forensics is a crucial field that involves the collection, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence. Forensic tools play a vital role in this process, aiding investigators in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from diverse digital devices. With the increasing complexity of digital devices and the surge in digital data, selecting the appropriate forensic tool has become paramount. This study evaluates and contrasts different free forensic tools with an emphasis on network examination, data analysis, and password cracking. The evaluation considers variables such platform support, file system support, imaging capabilities, data-driven features, reporting capabilities, hash type support, attack types, resource utilization, and pattern matching capabilities. The results of this comparison research are an informative resource for forensic professionals seeking to choose the best tool for their specific requirements. Notably, the data analysis capabilities of Autopsy, FTK Imager, and ProDiscover Basic displayed unique strengths and limitations for data analysis. Due to its robust hash type support and effective administration of resources, John the Ripper and Hashcat emerged as reasonable options for password cracking. The study also recommends Wireshark for network analysis because of its intuitive user interface, substantial packet analysis tools, and flexible multi-platform compatibility with other protocols. Nevertheless, is acknowledged that the ultimate choice on a forensic tool should be tailored to the distinct requirements and constraints of each investigatory project

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
