    Implications of partially degenerate neutrinos at a high scale in the light of KamLAND and WMAP

    Electroweak radiative corrections can generate the neutrino (mass)2^2 difference required for the large mixing angle solution (LMA) to the solar neutrino problem if two of the neutrinos are assumed degenerate at high energy. We test this possibility with the existing experimental knowledge of the low energy neutrino mass and mixing parameters. We derive restrictions on ranges of the high scale mixing matrix elements and obtain predictions for the low energy parameters required in order to get the LMA solution of the solar neutrino problem picked out by KamLAND. We find that in the case of standard model this is achieved only when the (degenerate) neutrino masses lie in the range (0.7-2) \eV which is at odds with the cosmological limit m_{\nu}<0.23 \eV (at 9595 % C.L) established recently using WMAP results. Thus SM radiative corrections cannot easily generate the LMA solution in this scenario. However, the LMA solution is possible in case of the MSSM electroweak corrections with (almost) degenerate spectrum or with inverted mass hierarchy for limited ranges in the high scale parameters.Comment: 15 pages, LATEX includes five postscript figure

    Leptogenesis in Neutrino Textures with Two Zeros

    The leptogenesis is studied in the neutrino textures with two zeros, which reduce the number of independent phases of the CP violation. The phenomenological favored neutrino textures with two zeros are decomposed into the Dirac neutrino mass matrix and the right-handed Majorana one in the see-saw mechanism. Putting the condition to suppress the μeγ\mu \to e\gamma decay enough, the texture zeros of the Dirac neutrino mass matrix are fixed in the framework of the MSSM with right-handed neutrinos. These textures have only one CP violatig phase. The magnitude of each entry of the Dirac mass matrix is determined in order to explain the baryon asymmetry of the universe by solving the Boltzman equations. The relation between the leptogenesis and the low energy CP violation is presented in these textures.Comment: Latex file with 20 pages, 6 eps figure

    Supersymmetric effects on Forward Backward asymmetries of BK+B \to K \ell^+ \ell^-

    Leptonic and semi-leptonic rare decays of B-mesons are very clean (both theoretically and experimentally) signatures of any new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). More specifically the decay \btokll has been theoretically observed to be very sensitive to new physics as the Forward Backward (FB) asymmetry in this decay mode vanishes in the SM. Supersymmetry, however, predicts a non-vanishing value of this asymmetry. In this work we will study the polarized lepton pair FB asymmetry, i.e. the FB asymmetry of the lepton when one (or both) final state lepton(s) are polarized.     This review presents flavour related issues in the production and decays of heavy states at LHC, both from the experimental side and from the theoretical side. We review top quark physics and discuss flavour aspects of several extensions of the Standard Model, such as supersymmetry, little Higgs model or models with extra dimensions. This includes discovery aspects as well as measurement of several properties of these heavy states.     The North Court of the Erechtheion and the Ritual of the Plynteria

    The north side of the uncanonical Temple of Athena Polias at Athens, conventionally called the Erechtheion, included a small paved court with banks of steps on the east and on the north against the Acropolis wall. The details of construction indicate that both the marble paving and the steps were built as part of the Erechtheion. This small, secluded North Court is a likely venue for the solemn ceremonies of the Plynteria and the Kallynteria, in which the ancient olive-wood statue of Athena Polias was taken out of the temple, bathed, and adorned. The unroofed, tightly integrated North Court reinforces the status of the Erechtheion as an innovative architectural composition

    Universality in pure gravity mediation

    If low energy supersymmetry is realized in nature, the apparent discovery of a Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV points to a supersymmetric mass spectrum in the TeV or multi-TeV range. Multi-TeV scalar masses are a necessary component of supersymmetric models with pure gravity mediation or in any model with strong moduli stabilization. Here, we show that full scalar mass universality remains viable as long as the ratio of Higgs vevs, tan beta is relatively small (\lesssim 2.5). We discuss in detail the low energy (observable) consequences of these models.Comment: 20 pages, 9 figure
