Beta-delayed neutron spectroscopy of In
The decay properties of In were studied in detail at the ISOLDE Decay
Station (IDS). The implementation of the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source
(RILIS) allowed separate measurements of its ground state (In)
and isomer (In). With the use of -delayed neutron and
spectroscopy, the decay strengths above the neutron separation energy
were quantified in this neutron-rich nucleus for the first time. The allowed
Gamow-Teller transition was located at 5.92 MeV in the
In decay with a logft = 4.7(1). In addition, several neutron-unbound
states were populated at lower excitation energies by the First-Forbidden
decays of In. We assigned spins and parities to those
neutron-unbound states based on the -decay selection rules, the logft
values, and systematics
133In: A Rosetta Stone for decays of r-process nuclei
The decays from both the ground state and a long-lived isomer of
In were studied at the ISOLDE Decay Station (IDS). With a hybrid
detection system sensitive to , , and neutron spectroscopy, the
comparative partial half-lives (logft) have been measured for all their
dominant -decay channels for the first time, including a low-energy
Gamow-Teller transition and several First-Forbidden (FF) transitions. Uniquely
for such a heavy neutron-rich nucleus, their decays selectively
populate only a few isolated neutron unbound states in Sn. Precise
energy and branching-ratio measurements of those resonances allow us to
benchmark -decay theories at an unprecedented level in this region of
the nuclear chart. The results show good agreement with the newly developed
large-scale shell model (LSSM) calculations. The experimental findings
establish an archetype for the decay of neutron-rich nuclei southeast
of Sn and will serve as a guide for future theoretical development
aiming to describe accurately the key decays in the rapid-neutron
capture (r-) process

ESFIn this work, three isostructural metal-organic frameworks based on frst row transition metal ions
and 2-aminoisonicotinate (2ain) ligands, namely, {[M(μ-2ain)2]·DMF}n [MII=Co (1), Ni (2), Zn (3)], are
evaluated for their sensing capacity of various solvents and metal ions by monitoring the modulation
of their magnetic and photoluminescence properties. The crystal structure consists of an open
diamond-like topological 3D framework that leaves huge voids, which allows crystallizing two-fold
interpenetrated architecture that still retains large porosity. Magnetic measurements performed on 1
reveal the occurrence of feld-induced spin-glass behaviour characterized by a frequency-independent
relaxation. Solvent-exchange experiments lead successfully to the replacement of lattice molecules by
DMSO and MeOH, which, on its part, show dominating SIM behaviour with low blocking temperatures
but substantially high energy barriers for the reversal of the magnetization. Photoluminescence studied
at variable temperature on compound 3 show its capacity to provide bright blue emission under UV
excitation, which proceeds through a ligand-centred charge transfer mechanism as confrmed by timedependent DFT calculations. Turn-of and/or shift of the emission is observed for suspensions of 3 in
diferent solvents and aqueous solutions containing metal ions
Decay of the I π = 8 − isomeric state in Nd 134 and Pt 184 studied by electron and γ spectroscopy
International audienceThe properties of the K-isomer decays in the 134 Nd and 184 Pt nuclei have been investigated. Measurements were carried out in e-γ and γ-γ coincidence modes using electron spectrometers coupled to the central European Array for Gamma Levels Evaluations at the Heavy Ion Laboratory of the University of Warsaw. Internal conversion coefficients were obtained for transitions relevant to the decay of the isomeric states, allowing the determination of multipolarities and mixing ratios as well as hindrance factors. Two possible causes of the weakening of the K forbiddenness, namely rotational K mixing (Coriolis interaction) and triaxiality, are briefly discussed using schematic theoretical models
