É considerado um dos principais do psychobilly, subgênero do rock and roll que se caracteriza, dentre outros, por rockabilly, punk rock e histórias de horror. O festival amplia as possibilidades culturais e musicais em uma cidade multiétnica, fazendo um contraponto com a música típica do Carnaval brasileiro, que traz uma maior influência da música de matriz africana. A sonoridade detém suas particularidades quanto às técnicas de execução, timbres e aspectos composicionais. Para realizar a pesquisa, foi levado em conta conceitos como psychobilly, cena musical, interculturalidade dentre outros, que serviram de alicerce para o levantamento de fontes bibliográficas e etnográficas como Néstor Garcia Canclini, Paul Friedlander e Alan Merrian, observando a participação de atrações internacionais junto aos grupos locais. It is considered biggest festival of latin american psychobilly, a subgenre of rock and roll characterized among others by rockabilly, punk rock and horror stories. This festival expands the cultural and musical possibilities in a multiethnic city, contraposing the typical style of Carnival music that has a greater influence of music from african origin. The sonority has its peculiarities regarding the techniques of performance, tones and compositional aspects. To conduct the research, it was taken into account concepts such as psychobilly, musical scene, interculturality among others, which served as the foundation for the survey of bibliographic and ethnographic sources such as Néstor Garcia Canclini, Paul Friedlander and Alan Merrian, observing the participation of international attractions with local bands. A investigação ocorre no recorte temporal de 2002 a 2022. Tem por objetivo delimitar e analisar os personagens, realizar um levantamento da espacialidade e temporalidade relevantes, identificar os agentes de intencionalidade e fatores que propiciaram a presença desta manifestação musical há mais de três décadas na capital paranaense. Existe uma cena musical autoral onde observamos músicos, grupos musicais e público, festivais, espaços culturais e comerciais como: bares, casas e lojas especializadas em roupas, materiais estéticos, e outros elementos que suscitam uma discussão sobre o cenário, o "underground" da cidade e seu entorno. Trata-se de uma estética musical difundida no mundo todo, que teve aceitação no território curitibano, principalmente a partir da década de 1980. No campo da Etnomusicologia, ocorre o estudo das características territoriais da cidade, suas etnias e configurações sociais que contribuíram para a diversificação do circuito cultural existente. Estes levantamentos se fazem necessários para a compreensão dos aspectos estruturantes que levaram esta face extrema do rock and roll a expandir-se pelo território curitibano. O processo de pesquisa volta o olhar para os grupos que lançaram trabalhos autorais com registros em discos, coletâneas e gravações, sejam estes lançamentos feitos através de gravadoras, selos e ou produções independentes. A metodologia utilizada durante a pesquisa de campo utilizou a etnografia e análise de documentos tais como biografias, discografias, entrevistas com agentes relevantes e partituras por uma perspectiva etnomusicológica dialógica, com a finalidade de elencar características e elementos comuns para uma compreensão deste universo multifacetado compreendido como heavy metal curitibanoAbstract: This project carries out a research on heavy metal in Brazil, particularly in the city of Curitiba. The investigation takes place in the time frame from 2002 to 2022. Its objective is to delimit and analyze the characters, carry out a survey of relevant places, identify the agents and issues that led to the development of this musical subgenre for more than 3 decades in the capital of Paraná state. There is an authorial music scene that includes groups, bars, houses and specialized stores, which raises a discussion about the aforementioned scenario of the city and its surroundings. It is a musical manifestation spread all over the world, but it was widely accepted in Curitiba, mainly from the 1980s onwards. In the field of Ethnomusicology, there is a study about the territorial characteristics of the city, its ethnicities and social configurations that contributed to the diversification of the existing cultural circuit. These surveys are necessary to understand the reasons that led this extreme face of rock and roll to spread throughout the territory of Curitiba. The research process is developed under the groups that have released copyright works with records via discs, compilations and recordings, whether these releases are made via label/labels or independents. The fieldwork seeks an ethnography and analysis of documents such as biographies, discographies, interviews with relevant agents and scores from a dialogic ethnomusicological perspective, in order to list common characteristics and elements for an understanding of this multifaceted universe understood as heavy metal from CuritibaResumen: Este trabajo de investigación aborda el heavy metal en Brasil, particularmente en la ciudad de Curitiba. La investigación se desarrolla en el período de 2002 a 2022. Tiene como objetivo delimitar y analizar los personajes, realizar un levantamiento de espacialidad y temporalidad relevantes, identificar los agentes de intencionalidad y factores que favorecieron la presencia de esta manifestación musical durante más de tres años. décadas en la capital paranaense. Hay un escenario de música autoral donde observamos músicos, agrupaciones musicales y públicos, festivales, espacios culturales y comerciales como: bares, casas y tiendas especializadas en ropa, materiales estéticos, y otros elementos que plantean una discusión sobre el escenario, el " underground" de la música ciudad y sus alrededores. Es una estética musical difundida en todo el mundo, que fue aceptada en Curitiba, principalmente a partir de la década de 1980. En el campo de la Etnomusicología, el estudio de las características territoriales de la ciudad, sus etnias y escenarios sociales que contribuyeron a la diversificación del circuito cultural existente. Estos levantamientos son necesarios para comprender los aspectos estructurales que llevaron a esta cara extrema del rock and roll a expandirse por todo el territorio de Curitiba. Estudo do processo de desenvolvimento de produto de uma empresa de grande porte da cadeia produtiva do trigo

This article it is the result of a survey of a large family business in the production chain of wheat in Brazil, where his goal was to describe the activities that comprise its Product Development Process (PDP). The diagnosis was made by comparison with the evidence found in the PDP model for the food industry and described by Zuin Alliprandini (2006). For this study to collect data and information was done by implementing a roadmap for research in the area responsible for product development. The importance of the paper is to report to the scientific and business model of product development specifically for the food industry that is structured and has been empirically tested successfully. As noted in the body of this article, a structured PDP has several competitive advantages for companies in the food sector. One of these advantages is the decrease in employment testing geographic and business in general was also observed in this case study. The decrease in the application of this test leads to a lower financial contribution in the PDP business.  Este artigo trata-se de resultado de uma pesquisa realizada em uma empresa familiar de grande porte da cadeia produtiva do trigo brasileira, cujo o seu objetivo foi descrever as atividades que compõem o seu Processo de Desenvolvimento de Produtos (PDP). O diagnóstico foi realizado pela comparação com os elementos encontrados no modelo de PDP para a indústria alimentícia descrito por Zuin e Alliprandini (2006). Para este estudo a coleta de dados e informações foi realizada por meio da aplicação de um roteiro de pesquisa no responsável pela área de desenvolvimento de produtos. A importância do artigo é relatar para a comunidade científica e empresarial um modelo de desenvolvimento de produto específico para o setor alimentício que é estruturado e foi empiricamente testado com sucesso. Como observado no corpo deste artigo, um PDP estruturado apresenta várias vantagens competitivas para as empresas do setor alimentício. Uma destas vantagens é a diminuição do emprego de testes geográficos pelas empresas em geral e que também foi observado neste estudo de caso. A diminuição da aplicação deste teste acarreta em um aporte financeiro menor no PDP das empresas. &nbsp

“Alimentar-Comer”: Substâncias Sociáveis e Sutis no Repasto Ritual do Candomblé Teresinense

RESUMO: O texto explora a relação entre as dimensões sociáveis e sutis subjacentes aos regimes de transformação dos alimentos em “comidas de santo” no candomblé. Para tanto, se utiliza de excerto etnográfico sobre o ambiente ritual da casa Ilê Asé Opásoró Fadaka, primeiro terreiro da cidade de Teresina, Piauí, do qual conduz o relato da Festa de Ogun, Oxossi e Osanyin. Aproveita-se para pôr em reflexão a existência de um possível campo de agenciamento simétrico entre os gestuais do “alimentar” (servir) e do “comer” (servir-se), que supomos acontecer toda vez que o repasto sagrado do panteão é substancial, sutil e reciprocamente repartido com a comunidade de culto religioso.Palavras-chave: Substâncias; Alimento; Comidas de santo; Regimes de transformação.  ABSTRACT: The article explores the relationship between the sociable and subtle dimensions that underlie candomblé food-processing regimes. To this end, it uses the ethnographic exception of the ritual environment of the house Ilê Asé Opásoró Fadaka, the first Candomblé yard in the city of Teresina, Piauí, at the Feast of Ogun, Oxossi and Osanyin. It takes the opportunity to reflect on the existence of a possible symmetrical agency field between the actions of “food” (to serve) and “eating” (being served), which we assume happen every time the pantheon's sacred meal is substantial and reciprocally divided with the cult community religious.Keywords: Substances; Food; Saint foods; Regimes of transformation

New insights on the impacts of e-waste towards marine bivalves: the case of the rare earth element Dysprosium

With the technological advances and economic development, the multiplicity and wide variety of applications of electrical and electronic equipment have increased, as well as the amount of end-of-life products (waste of electrical and electronic equipment, WEEE). Accompanying their increasing application, there is an increasing risk to aquatic ecosystems and inhabiting organisms. Among the most common elements present in WEEE are rare earth elements (REE) such as Dysprosium (Dy). The present study evaluated the metabolic and oxidative stress responses of mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis exposed to an increasing range of Dy concentrations, after a 28 days experimental period. The results obtained highlighted that Dy was responsible for mussel’s metabolic increase associated with glycogen expenditure, activation of antioxidant and biotransformation defences and cellular damage, with a clear loss of redox balance. Such effects may greatly impact mussel’s physiological functions, including reproduction capacity and growth, with implications for population conservation. Overall the present study pointed out the need for more research on the toxic impacts resulting from these emerging pollutants, especially towards marine and estuarine invertebrate species.publishe

Pravastatin protection from cold stress in myocardium of rats

The aim of this research was to evaluate the possible protective effect of pravastatin on ultrastructural alterations induced by cold stress in the myocardium of rats.Sixteen EPM-Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus albinus) were used and distributed into four groups: 1) control; 2) pravastatin; 3) cold stress, and 4) pravastatin + cold stress. A daily oral dose of 10 mg/kg of weight of pravastatin was administered to each rat in groups 2 and 4 for 15 days. the stress induced by cold was obtained by keeping the group 3 and 4 rats in a freezer at -8degreesC for 4 hours. the animals were killed and the heart and fragments of the left ventricles (LV) were removed and processed prior to conducting electron microscopic analysis.The ultrastructural alterations in cardiomyocytes were quantified through the number of mitochondrial cristae pattern (cristalysis). the group subjected only to cold stress showed a significant increase in cristalysis (391.9) when compared with control group (42.0). in the cold stress and pravastatin pretreatment group, a statistically significant (96.9)*, P<0.05 cristalysis reduction was observed when compared with cold stress group. the mitochondrial cristalysis profiles of the control and pravastatin groups were 42.0 and 65.7, respectively.Cold stress induced a significant increase in the rat e of mitochondrial cristalysis. in the group that received pravastatin and was exposed to cold stress, the drug protected the LV cardiomyocytes. This fact was confirmed by a reduction mitoctiondrial cristalysis pattern. Toxicological effects of the rare earth element neodymium in Mytilus galloprovincialis

The wide range of applications of rare earth elements (REE) is leading to their occurrence in worldwide aquatic environments. Among the most popular REE is Neodymium (Nd), being widely used in permanent magnets, lasers, and glass additives. Neodymium–iron–boron (NdFeB) magnets is the main application of Nd since they are used in electric motors, hard disk drives, speakers and generators for wind turbines. Recent studies have already evaluated the toxic potential of different REE, but no information is available on the effects of Nd towards marine bivalves. Thus, the present study evaluated the biochemical alterations caused by Nd in the mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis exposed to this element for 28 days. The results obtained clearly demonstrated that Nd was accumulated by mussels, leading to mussel’s metabolic capacity increase and GLY expenditure, in an attempt to fuel up defense mechanisms. Antioxidant and biotransformation defenses were insufficient in the elimination of ROS excess, resulting from the presence of Nd and increased electron transport system activity, which caused cellular damages (measured by lipid peroxidation) and loss of redox balance (assessed by the ratio between reduced and oxidized glutathione). The results obtained clearly highlight the potential toxicity of REEs and, in particular of Nd, with impacts at cellular level, which may have consequences in mussel’s survival, growth and reproduction, affecting mussel’s population.publishe

Novas variedade de algodão para Minas Gerais

Variety trials, using sixteen cultivars of cotton selected by the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC), São Paulo; the Instituto de Experimentação e Pesquisas Agropecuárias de Minas Gerais (IEPAP); and the Estação Experimental de Sete Lagoas (EESL), Minas Gerais were carried out in the four principal cotton - growing regions of the state of Minas Gerais: Montes Claros, Metalúrgica, Triângulo Mineiro, and Sul. The trials were repeated in three consecutive years. On the basis of the results of these trials and of quality determinations on the fibers of each of the cultivars studied, the following cultivars are recommended for the respective regions: 1) Montes Claros - IPEACO-SL 6; IAC 12-1; IAC 13; 2) Metalúrgica - IPEACO-SL 4; IPEACO-SL 6; IAC RM 4; 3) Triângulo Mineiro - IAC 13; IPEACO-SL 6; 4) Sul - IPEACO-SL 4; IAC 13; IAC RM 4.Cinco experimentos com 16 cultivares de algodão foram realizados em Minas Gerais com a finalidade de se estudar quais os melhores cultivares para plantio nas regiões algodoeiras do Estado. Os ensaios foram conduzidos por um período de três anos consecutivos nas regiões Metalúrgica, de Montes Claros, do Sul de Minas e do Triângulo Mineiro. Constaram do trabalho variedades selecionadas pelo Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC), Instituto de Experimentação e Pesquisas Agropecuárias de Minas Gerais, (IEPAP) e Estação Experimental de Sete Lagoas (EESL). A análise estatística dos dados de produção, e as características tecnológicas observadas nas fibras evidenciaram como melhores as seguintes variedades: a) região de Montes Claros: IPEACO-SL 6, IAC 12-1 e IAC 13; b) região Metalúrgica: IPEACO-SL 4, IPEACO-SL 6 e IAC RM 4; e) região do Triângulo Mineiro: IAC 13 e IPEACO-SL 6; região do Sul de Minas: IPEACO-SL 4, IAC 13 e IAC RM 4

Bloqueio Atrioventricular Total por Lúpus Eritematoso Neonatal

Os autores relatam o caso de uma criança, cuja mae era portadora de Lupus Eritematoso Sistêmico. Já no oitavo mês de gestaçao, o obstetra detectou uma importante bradicardia fetal. No nono mês, a criança nasceu com bloqueio atrioventricular total (BAV) e baixo débito, tendo sido necessário o implante de marcapasso definitivo endocárdico, no mesmo dia do nascimento. Em decorrência do surgimento de endocardite, aquele marcapasso foi substituído por um epimiocárdico.
