Características de la Web de España
In September and October 2004, a massive harvesting of pages from the web of Spain was carried out. This effort permitted us to find over 16 million pages, on approximately 300,000 web sites, which have been analysed in terms of contents, connectivity and technologies. The analysis of the data reveals several statistical similarities with observations made about the characteristics of the web by other studies conducted on subsets of the global web, mostly related to the presence of power laws. On the qualitative side, the role of academic and governmental centres is fundamental for enhanced connectivity in navigating among the sites of the web of Spain
Comparative karyotype studies in species of Miltinea Ravenna, Phycella Lindl. and Rhodophiala C. Presl (Amaryllidaceae) from Chile
maulensis (Ravenna) Ravenna, Phycella
australis Ravenna, Rhodophiala araucana (Phil.)
Traub, Rhodophiala montana (Phil.) Traub, y
Rhodophiala pratensis (Poepp.) Traub. Los
resultados obtenidos indicaron que Miltinea
maulensis y Phycella australis presentan
The family Amaryllidaceae is widely
distributed in Chile and South America. Ravenna
recognized 11 genera and at least three of them
have ornamental value: Miltinea Ravenna,
endemic to Chile consists of only one species,
Miltinea maulensis (Ravenna) Ravenna;
Phycella Lindley, endemic to Chile, consisting
of four species, distributed from the Elqui valley
in Northern Chile up to the Arauco region in the
South, and Rhodophiala C. Presl. distributed
in Southern Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, Argentina
and Chile with about 40 species. Currently,
traditional taxonomic information is insufficient
to differentiate the genera of Amaryllidaceae
in Chile. For this reason cytotaxonomy was
used as a source of taxonomic evidence.
The objective of this research was a
comparative study of the karyotypes of the
three Amaryllidaceae genera growing in Chile
in order to clarify their taxonomic position.
The studied species were: Miltinea maulensis
(Ravenna) Ravenna, Phycella australis
Ravenna, Rhodophiala araucana (Phil.) Traub,
Rhodophiala montana (Phil.) Traub, and
Rhodophiala pratensis (Poepp.) Traub. The
results indicated that Miltinea maulensis and
Phycella australis have very similar karyological
characteristics: same chromosome number,
chromosome karyotype formula, and indexes.
Karyological evidence supports the hypothesis
that Miltinea is a synonym of Phycella. Further on,
the three species of Rhodophiala show similar
cytological features, such as the presence of a
NOR region on the long arm of chromosome 7,
the same chromosome number, and a nearly
equal index of karyotype asymmetry.Fil: Baeza, Carlos.

A conqueror does not only use the power of weapons and techniques. He also imports and imposes a system of norms, beliefs and forms of artistic expression in order to establish a political project that he considers legitimate. Situated on the edge of cultural and art history, this study aims to open up new perspectives on artistic creation during the Baroque period in Latin America.

Modeling Influence of Soil Properties in Different Gradients of Soil Moisture: The Case of the Valencia Anchor Station Validation Site, Spain
The prediction of spatial and temporal variation of soil water content brings numerous
benefits in the studies of soil. However, it requires a considerable number of covariates to be included
in the study, complicating the analysis. Integrated nested Laplace approximations (INLA) with
stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) methodology is a possible approach that allows the
inclusion of covariates in an easy way. The current study has been conducted using INLA-SPDE
to study soil moisture in the area of the Valencia Anchor Station (VAS), soil moisture validation
site for the European Space Agency SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity). The data used were
collected in a typical ecosystem of the semiarid Mediterranean conditions, subdivided into physiohydrological units (SMOS units) which presents a certain degree of internal uniformity with respect
to hydrological parameters and capture the spatial and temporal variation of soil moisture at the
local fine scale. The paper advances the knowledge of the influence of hydrodynamic properties
on VAS soil moisture (texture, porosity/bulk density and soil organic matter and land use). With
the goal of understanding the factors that affect the variability of soil moisture in the SMOS pixel
(50 km × 50 km), five states of soil moisture are proposed. We observed that the model with all
covariates and spatial effect has the lowest DIC value. In addition, the correlation coefficient was
close to 1 for the relationship between observed and predicted values. The methodology applied
presents the possibility to analyze the significance of different covariates having spatial and temporal
effects. This process is substantially faster and more effective than traditional kriging. The findings
of this study demonstrate an advancement in that framework, demonstrating that it is faster than
previous methodologies, provides significance of individual covariates, is reproducible, and is easy
to compare with models
Towards an Integrative Taxonomy of the Genus Alstroemeria (Alstroemeriaceae) in Chile: A Comprehensive Review
The genus Alstroemeria encompasses approximately 80 species endemic to South America, with 2 centers of diversity (Chile and Brazil). In Chile, Alstroemeria represents one of the most diverse genera of vascular monocotyledons, comprising more than 50 recognized or accepted taxa (36 species, 11 subspecies and 10 varieties) from which ca. 82% are endemic to the Mediterranean zone of central Chile, one of the world’s diversity hotspots. The taxonomy of the genus is very difficult due to the great variability of the vegetative and floral traits. Moreover, a number of taxa have been recently described and several nomenclatural changes have been proposed. In order to elucidate the taxonomy of some Chilean complexes of Alstroemeria, an integrative approach including morphology, colorimetry, cytogenetic, multivariate statistical analyses of morphological variation and DNA-molecular studies have been conducted. In this chapter, we review the literature concerning these approaches; a checklist of the species growing in Chile is provided including all published names, references to the original protologues, accepted names, synonyms and the biogeographic status (endemic or native) of the accepted taxa; maps illustrating the diversity of the genus in South America and its distribution in Chile were constructed
The family Amaryllidaceae is widely distributed from temperate to tropical regions. Amaryllidaceae species from thesubfamily Amaryllidoideae can biosynthesize alkaloids with important physiological effects. Rhodophiala C. Presl isone of the native genera of Amaryllidoideae of Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil. However, despite thediversity of this genus in Chile, their alkaloids have only been studied previously in one species of this country. The presentwork aims to analyze the alkaloid profi les and chemotaxonomically compare three other Chilean species of Rhodophiala:Rhodophiala bagnoldii (Herb.) Traub, Rhodophiala pratensis (Poepp.) Traub and Rhodophiala volckmannii Phil. Bulbextracts were analyzed by means of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and alkaloids were characterizedaccording to retention time and fragmentation pattern. The skeleton type alkaloids detected were lycorine, crinine, galanthamine, homolycorine, tazettine and montanine. All analyzed species showed different alkaloid profi les, indicatingthese compounds can be used as a chemotaxonomic tool. Furthermore, the alkaloid types detected in this genus havemultiple reported biological properties and these species can constitute new sources of important medicinal products.
