The purpose of this study was to examine the respective effects of mechanistic and organic organizational structures on employee satisfaction. Employees from four youthserving nonprofit organizations participated. The respondents were primarily direct service and administrative professionals in the field, but they also included interns and executive staff. It was hypothesized that satisfaction would be positively correlated with organic organizational structure and negatively correlated with mechanistic organizational structure. The measuring instrument was a survey questionnaire created for this study. The data were responses to 50 Likert-based questions that assessed three variables: mechanistic structure, organic structure, and employee satisfaction. The research hypothesis was supported, the results indicating a significant positive correlation between employee satisfaction and organic structure, as well as a significant negative correlation between employee satisfaction and mechanistic structure. All correlations were significant at the 0.001 and accounted for 43% to 48% of the variance. Correlations were significant even with attitudes towards agency training, respect for superior\u27s knowledge and job stress partialed out. The findings suggested that youth-serving organizations that are more organic in structure have more satisfied employees

A study of an energy audit is presented in this paper in a refrigerating industry. For the same characterization of the facility was performed and measurements of the magnitudes involved were made. Finally different actions and a series of measures to be implemented for the purpose of making more efficient use of energy, achieving significant annual energy savings are presented. The importance of this study is based on how important it is to perform an energy audit as it can be defined as a comprehensive research of each and every one of the aspects, both technical and economic, affecting directly and indirectly the consumption of different energies. Considering also that the efficient use of energy is a necessary condition for energy and long-term environmental sustainability.Tema 7: Uso eficiente y racional de la energía. Globalization, rapid technological changes, and growing competition not only facilitate but also make the supply chain more complex and fragile. Any disruption can disturb many organizations and even the whole system. There are many theories and frameworks that present a solution but no study is available that theoretically development framework for supply chain risk management. The focus of this study is to develop a novel framework for identifying the potential risks and assessment of their effects on supply chain performance. Additionally, evaluate the role of supply chain interaction in risk mitigation and performance improvement in Malaysian manufacturing. This is a conceptual paper, systematic as well as content analysis have been done for the literature review. For future study, there is a need to empirically verification of this theoretical framework. The proposed methodology to achieve this framework is; a questionnaire will be developed from a pool and will be validated by exploratory view for risk identification. This questionnaire will be distributed among Malaysian manufacturing and data will be analyzed through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) for risk assessment and mitigation. The theoretical contribution of this study is support of the theory of swift, even flow as underpinning theory and information processing theory as supportive theory

The scientific productíon of Spanish Universities in the field of Physics for the period 1986-88 is analyzed with data obtaincd from two databases: INSPEC, whích covcrs publications in foreign journals and also, but only in a selective way, those published in a certain numbcr of Spanísh journals; and ICYT, which covcrs comprehcnsively ali original papcrs published in Spanish journals. Comparison of the two series of data Ieads to ccrtain conclusions as rcgards the trends to publish in foreign journals.

There is limited information on the characteristics, prognostic factors, and outcomes of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) hospitalized with COVID-19. This retrospective case series investigated 167 patients reported from 73 hospitals within the Spanish Myeloma Collaborative Group network in March and April, 2020. Outcomes were compared with 167 randomly selected, contemporary, age-/sex-matched noncancer patients with COVID-19 admitted at six participating hospitals. Among MM and noncancer patients, median age was 71 years, and 57% of patients were male; 75 and 77% of patients, respectively, had at least one comorbidity. COVID-19 clinical severity was moderate-severe in 77 and 89% of patients and critical in 8 and 4%, respectively. Supplemental oxygen was required by 47 and 55% of MM and noncancer patients, respectively, and 21%/9% vs 8%/6% required noninvasive/invasive ventilation. Inpatient mortality was 34 and 23% in MM and noncancer patients, respectively. Among MM patients, inpatient mortality was 41% in males, 42% in patients aged >65 years, 49% in patients with active/progressive MM at hospitalization, and 59% in patients with comorbid renal disease at hospitalization, which were independent prognostic factors on adjusted multivariate analysis. This case series demonstrates the increased risk and identifies predictors of inpatient mortality among MM patients hospitalized with COVID-19

Association of interatrial septal abnormalities with cardiac impulse conduction disorders in adult patients: experience from a tertiary center in Kosovo

Interatrial septal disorders, which include: atrial septal defect, patent foramen ovale and atrial septal aneurysm, are frequent congenital anomalies found in adult patients. Early detection of these anomalies is important to prevent their hemodynamic and/or thromboembolic consequences. The aims of this study were: to assess the association between impulse conduction disorders and anomalies of interatrial septum; to determine the prevalence of different types of interatrial septum abnormalities; to assess anatomic, hemodynamic, and clinical consequences of interatrial septal pathologies. Fifty-three adult patients with impulse conduction disorders and patients without ECG changes but with signs of interatrial septal abnormalities, who were referred to our center for echocardiography, were included in a prospective transesophageal echocardiography study. Interatrial septal anomalies were detected in around 85% of the examined patients. Patent foramen ovale was encountered in 32% of the patients, and in combination with atrial septal aneurysm in an additional 11.3% of cases. Atrial septal aneurysm and atrial septal defect were diagnosed with equal frequency in 20.7% of our study population. Impulse conduction disorders were significantly more suggestive of interatrial septal anomalies than clinical signs and symptoms observed in our patients (84.91% vs 30.19%, P=0.002). Right bundle branch block was the most frequent impulse conduction disorder, found in 41 (77.36%) cases. We conclude that interatrial septal anomalies are highly associated with impulse conduction disorders, particularly with right bundle branch block. Impulse conduction disorders are more indicative of interatrial septal abnormalities in earlier stages than can be understood from the patient’s clinical condition
