Managing relational capital for the sustainability of the energy sector in the social media

Various management models have been proposed for intangible business assets in this new digital era. However, these models do not consider the relationships between intangible assets in business management, or their effect. This work has two main objectives: first, to show the effect of intangi-ble assets as expressed in digital media related to energy brands; second, to demonstrate the rela-tionships between the emotions, experiences and attitudes of the audiences. To do so, a novel model of intangibles is proposed and applied to the energy sector using IBEX 35 data. In this sce-nario, we determine that users' experiences extracted from digital environments have significant relationships with one of the most important intangibles in the energy business, namely emotion.Vários modelos de gestão foram propostos para ativos de negócios intangíveis nesta nova era digital. No entanto, esses modelos não consideram as relações entre ativos intangíveis na gestão ou os seus efeitos. Este estudo tem dois objetivos principais: primeiro, mostrar o efeito dos ativos intangíveis expressos nos meios digitais relacionados com as marcas associadas ao setor económico da energia; segundo, demonstrar as relações entre as emoções, experiências e atitudes do público. Para esse efeito, é proposto um novo modelo de gestão de intangíveis aplicado ao setor de energia utilizando dados do IBEX 35. Kinect as an access device for people with cerebral palsy: A preliminary study

Cerebral palsy (CP) describes a group of disorders affecting the development of movement and posture, causingactivity limitation. Access to technology can alleviate some of these limitations. Many studies have used vision- based movement capture systems to overcome problems related to discomfort and fear of wearing devices. Incontrast, there has been no research assessing the behavior of vision-based movement capture systems in peoplewith involuntary movements. In this paper, we look at the potential of the Kinect sensor as an assistive technologyfor people with cerebral palsy. We developed a serious game, called KiSens Números, to study the behavior ofKinect in this context and eighteen subjects with cerebral palsy used it to complete a set of sessions. The resultsof the experiments show that Kinect filters some of peoples involuntary movements, confirming the potential ofKinect as an assistive technology for people with motor disabilities

Ricardo Federico Madrazo Garreta (1852-1917), fue un activo asesor e intermediario en el mercado del coleccionismo. Miembro del clan Madrazo y discípulo de su cuñado Mariano Fortuny, se relacionó desde joven con personajes destacados en el ambiente artístico e intelectual de la época. Profundizaremos en esta faceta del artista a través de las relaciones que mantuvo con coleccionistas como José Pascó, Archer Milton Huntington o la familia Havemeyer. Su correspondencia, consultada en diversas instituciones, nos servirá para reconstruir el funcionamiento del mercado de antigüedades desde una perspectiva más privada: un modus operandi que algunos coleccionistas utilizaban para conseguir mejores precios o piezas seleccionadas, ajenas al ámbito de las subastas.Ricardo Federico Madrazo Garreta, was an active consultant and intermediary in the collector's market. Member of the Madrazo family and disciple of his brother-in- law Mariano Fortuny, he was involved from a young age with prominent figures in the artistic and intellectual circles. We will deepen in this facet of the artist and through the relations he maintained with collectors such as José Pascó, Archer Milton Huntington or the Havemeyer family. His correspondence, consulted in various institutions, will help us to reconstruct the operation of the antique market from a more private perspective: a modus operandi that some collectors used to get better prices or selected pieces, outside the scope of the auctions

Raimundo Madrazo. The textile heritage at the golden age of collecting

El origen de la predilección de Raimundo Madrazo por el coleccionismo textil proviene de su padre Federico Madrazo, y de su cuñado Mariano Fortuny, en lo que constituye una práctica social heredada que caracterizó a muchos de los pintores y artistas de la época. Algunos artistas de la época se convirtieron en coleccionistas de artes suntuarias del pasado con las que recrearon históricamente sus obras y con las que también hicieron mercado posteriormente. Madrazo estableció una amplia red que le permitió entrar en contacto con un heterogéneo grupo formado por marchantes, artistas, connoisseurs y museólogos, que lo posicionaron frente al apogeo de la demanda de antigüedades que estaban experimentando las instituciones museológicas en la conformación de colecciones textiles.The origin of Raimundo Madrazo's predilection for collecting textiles comes from his father, Federico Madrazo, and from his brother in law, Mariano Fortuny. Collecting textiles was an inherited social practice shared by many painters and artists of the time. Some of these artists became collectors of decorative arts from the past in pursuance of the most historically accurate representations in their works, and would also benefit from their trade. Madrazo was able to establish an extensive network formed by a heterogeneous group of dealers, artists, museum curators and connoisseurs that established him at the forefront of the demand for antiquities that museological institutions were experimenting in order to shape their textile collections.Generalitat Valencian

La colección de tejidos antiguos de Mariano Fortuny Marsal (1838-1874) salió a la venta en la subasta del Hôtel Drouot de París, pocos meses después de la temprana muerte del pintor. El estudio de varios catálogos manuscritos nos ha servido para conocer los precios y compradores de cada una de las referencias. Estos datos nos han permitido realizar un estudio comparativo entre diferentes categorías. Se ha realizado un análisis de la tipología de las piezas, según su valoración en el mercado, para establecer los aspectos que influyeron en la cotización de las mismas.The collection of antique fabrics of Mariano Fortuny Marsal (1838-1874) went on sale at the auction of the Hôtel Drouot in Paris, few months after the early death of the painter. The study of several handwritten catalogues has served us to know prices and buyers of each of the references. These data have allowed us to make a comparative study between different categories. We have made an analysis according to the typologies and its valuation in the market to establish the aspects that influence the price of those pieces

(Re)negotiating Freedom of Expression in the Spanish Transition: The Case of El Papus (1973-1987)

Juxtaposing documents from judicial and administrative archives with material published in the satirical magazine El Papus (1973-1987), this essay examines the confrontation between national-Catholic discourse and new modes of visual and textual expression in late Francoism and the early years of the democratic transition in Spain. The present study represents a survey of some 44 state-produced documents and 124 journalistic pieces, applying a two-pronged methodology rooted in discourse analysis with a special focus on the content and themes deemed unfit for publication in the pages of El Papus. The results will show that a loosening of erotic and sexual mores, particularly those related to Spanish women¿who were quickly emerging as political subjects in the 1970s¿became the magazine's preferred tool for interrogating the repressive structures underpinning Francoist society. As the administration and the judiciary grappled with the evolution of social norms before and during the Transition, they sought to decelerate the shifts taking place by publicly accusing editors and contributors of profanity, indecency, and/or immorality in court documents from the period. Pulp Mill Wastewater: Characteristics and Treatment

The production of chemical pulp in recent times is 180 million tons per year; while the production of eucalyptus pulp has increased intensively, especially in the southern hemisphere. The pulp and paper industry has long been considered a large consumer of natural resources (wood and water) and one of the largest sources of pollution to the environment (air, water courses and soil). Important efforts are being made to reduce the pollutant levels and water consumption of the industry. The wastewater composition, and therefore, the efficiency of effluent treatments and characteristics of the discharges to water are strongly dependent on the applied technology and raw materials. Despite a large body of literature on softwood-based wastewater, few studies have examined the characteristics of kraft eucalyptus bleaching effluents and their behaviour in the different biological treatments. The largest secondary treatment systems today use the activated sludge process. Sixty to seventy-five per cent of all the biological effluent treatment plants within the pulp and paper industry use this kind of treatment system. This chapter reviews the current pulping technologies at mills and compares the chemical composition and biological treatment of wastewater between softwood and hardwood bleached pulps
