Marine 5-thiohistidines as protective molecules from skin damage
Introduction Marine environment is a great source of bioactive molecules, whose biological properties and applications are often used especially to prevent skin diseases
and aging caused by UVAexposure. Ovothiols are methyl5thiohistidines from marine invertebrates, bacteria, and microalgae, which protect cells from environmental
stressors. Recently, we have shown that, ovothiol, isolated from sea urchin eggs, exerts antiinflammatory and antioxidant activities on human endothelial cells, and
exhibits antifibrotic effect in an in vivo model of liver fibrosis.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
This paper deals with the character of Polish public discourse about the European Union. Public discourse means
here a discourse based on authority (the discourse of intellectuals and politicians) and on diffusion (through
means of communication)[email protected]
This study analyzes the complex use of space in the extensive corpus of Larra’s Articles. Never mere background, the spatial functions in Larra as a mechanism for characterization, as a means to explain abstract Concepts, to rewrite literary topics, as a rhetorical figure or to perform the Romantic funciton of being a parallel for subjectivity. In the same way, the allusions to the spatial trace a diachrony that leads us from a space dominated by the lens of the satiric to a vision of a man drowned by space and finally becoming space, where the distinction between interior / exterior, clearly delimited at the beginning, destroys itself in parallel fashion. Thus, artcles such as “La nochebuena de 1836” or “El día de difuntos” appear as the resulto f an evolution in Larra as a poetic and rheotical subject that projects in andi s a projection of space
Motion Sickness Minimization Alerting System Using The Next Curvature Topology
Current intelligent car prototypes increasingly move to become autonomous where no driver is required. If an automated vehicle has rearward and forward facing seats and none of the passengers pay attention to the road, they increasingly experience the motion sickness because of the inability of passengers to anticipate the future motion trajectory. In this paper, we focus on anticipatory audio and video cues using pleasant sounds and a Human Machine Interface to display and inform the passengers about the upcoming trajectories that may lead to make the passengers sick. To be able to anticipate the next moves, we require an evaluation system of the next 1 kilometer of the road using the map. The road is investigated based on the amount of the turns and the maximum speed allowed that lead to lateral accelerations that is high enough based on Motion Sickness Dose Value to make the passengers sick. The system alerts the passengers through a Human Machine Interface to focus on the road for prevention of the Motion Sickness. We evaluate our method by using Motion Sickness Dose Value. Based on this work, we can prevent the sickness due to lateral accelerations by making the passengers to focus on the road and decrease the vestibular conflict
Gender dimensions of the migration, sustainability and care nexus: The case study of the Mahanadi delta, India
Migration and environmental change are deeply interconnected processes, intimately linked to development pathways. The gender dimension of these complex interactions is often overlooked. Yet there are profound linkages and implications. This paper focuses on the gender division of labour to investigate how migration and environmental change relate to gender equality and sustainability. The study draws on research conducted in the Mahanadi delta, in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. In the Mahanadi delta labour migration is largely male dominated. Women remain behind in vulnerable environments facing social and economic challenges having impacts on their empowerment and wellbeing. The findings show shifts in work burden, as women often engage in new activities alongside the traditional domestic and social reproductive work but highlight differences across age and household headship. Firstly, this paper identifies the connections between gender, sustainability and care –conceptually and empirically. Secondly, it explores the gender division of labour in the study area by discussing its structural causes. Thirdly, it provides insights into migration dynamics and examines how they feed back into gender equality and sustainability. Finally, it argues for the need of integrated analytical approaches that reflect ecological and social-equity challenges. © 2021 The Author
