    OTIMIZAÇÃO COM ALGORITMO BIO-INSPIRADO DE CONTROLE DE TRÁFEGO EM SISTEMAS DE GRUPOS DE ELEVADORES

    Resumo. Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar a implementação de uma técnica de otimização bioinspirada como solução ao problema de controle de tráfego em sistemas de grupos de elevadores (EGCS). A técnica de controle usada é o algoritmo de otimização por inteligência de enxame (PSO - swarm optimization particle) de tipo binário. A ideia é que o algoritmo escolha o melhor elevador para um usuário que faz uma chamada de serviço em umsistema de controle destino (DCS ”“ destination control system). Para a escolha do elevador o algoritmo tem uma função custo que considera as variáveis: (1) tempo de espera; (2) tempo de voo; (3) capacidade do elevador; (4) número de paradas alocadas; (5) número de paradas (baseado nas chamadas que são asignadas) para cada elevador. Estes parâmetros são ponderados de acordo com sua importância e inferência na seleção do melhor elevador. Assim, o sistema seleciona de todas as possíveis soluções encontradas a solução que apresenteo melhor valor de aptidão (a solução representa o elevador ou os elevadores selecionado para atender a atual chamada)

Conservation efforts have increased its population size and distribution and reinforced their genetic diversity through captive breeding and reintroduction programmes. Among several threats that the Iberian lynx faces, infectious and parasitic diseases have underlined effects on the health of their newly reintroduced populations, being essential to identify the primary sources of these agents and assess populations health status. To achieve this, 79 fresh faecal samples from Iberian lynx and sympatric mesocarnivores were collected in the reintroduction area of Extremadura, Spain. Samples were submitted to copromicroscopic analyses to assess parasite diversity, prevalence, and mean intensity of parasite burden. Overall, 19 (24.1%, ±15.1–35.0) samples were positive for at least one enteric parasite species. Parasite diversity and prevalence were higher in the Iberian lynx (43.8%) compared with the others mesocarnivores under study (e.g., the red fox Vulpes vulpes and the Egyptian mongoose Herpestes ichneumon). Ancylostomatidae and Toxocara cati were the most prevalent (15.6%) parasites. Obtained results revealed that Iberian lynx role as predator control might have reduced parasite cross-transmission between this felid and mesocarnivores due to their decreasing abundances.     Search for coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering at a nuclear reactor with CONNIE 2019 data

    The Coherent Neutrino-Nucleus Interaction Experiment (CONNIE) is taking data at the Angra 2 nuclear reactor with the aim of detecting the coherent elastic scattering of reactor antineutrinos with silicon nuclei using charge-coupled devices (CCDs). In 2019 the experiment operated with a hardware binning applied to the readout stage, leading to lower levels of readout noise and improving the detection threshold down to 50 eV. The results of the analysis of 2019 data are reported here, corresponding to the detector array of 8 CCDs with a fiducial mass of 36.2 g and a total exposure of 2.2 kg-days. The difference between the reactor-on and reactor-off spectra shows no excess at low energies and yields upper limits at 95% confidence level for the neutrino interaction rates. In the lowest-energy range, 50-180 eV, the expected limit stands at 34 (39) times the standard model prediction, while the observed limit is 66 (75) times the standard model prediction with Sarkis (Chavarria) quenching factors.Comment: 23 pages, 14 figure

    Decay widths of the spin-2 partners of the X(3872)

    We consider the X(3872) resonance as a JPC=1++ DD¯∗ hadronic molecule. According to heavy quark spin symmetry, there will exist a partner with quantum numbers 2++, X2, which would be a D∗D¯∗ loosely bound state. The X2 is expected to decay dominantly into DD¯, DD¯∗ and D¯D∗ in d-wave. In this work, we calculate the decay widths of the X2 resonance into the above channels, as well as those of its bottom partner, Xb2, the mass of which comes from assuming heavy flavor symmetry for the contact terms. We find partial widths of the X2 and Xb2 of the order of a few MeV. Finally, we also study the radiative X2→DD¯∗γ and Xb2→B¯B∗γ decays. These decay modes are more sensitive to the long-distance structure of the resonances and to the DD¯∗ or BB¯∗ final state interaction

    New insights into the neolithisation process in southwest Europe according to spatial density analysis from calibrated radiocarbon dates

    The agricultural way of life spreads throughout Europe via two main routes: the Danube corridor and the Mediterranean basin. Current archaeological literature describes the arrival to the Western Mediterranean as a rapid process which involves both demic and cultural models, and in this regard, the dispersal movement has been investigated using mathematical models, where the key factors are time and space. In this work, we have created a compilation of all available radiocarbon dates for the whole of Iberia, in order to draw a chronological series of maps to illustrate temporal and spatial patterns in the neolithisation process. The maps were prepared by calculating the calibrated 14C date probability density curves, as a proxy to show the spatial dynamics of the last hunter-gatherers and first farmers. Several scholars have pointed out problems linked with the variability of samples, such as the overrepresentation of some sites, the degree of regional research, the nature of the dated samples and above all the archaeological context, but we are confident that the selected dates, after applying some filters and statistical protocols, constitute a good way to approach settlement spatial patterns in Iberia at the time of the neolithisation process

    Measurement of the cosmic ray spectrum above 4×10184{\times}10^{18} eV using inclined events detected with the Pierre Auger Observatory

    A measurement of the cosmic-ray spectrum for energies exceeding 4×10184{\times}10^{18} eV is presented, which is based on the analysis of showers with zenith angles greater than 6060^{\circ} detected with the Pierre Auger Observatory between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2013. The measured spectrum confirms a flux suppression at the highest energies. Above 5.3×10185.3{\times}10^{18} eV, the "ankle", the flux can be described by a power law EγE^{-\gamma} with index γ=2.70±0.02(stat)±0.1(sys)\gamma=2.70 \pm 0.02 \,\text{(stat)} \pm 0.1\,\text{(sys)} followed by a smooth suppression region. For the energy (EsE_\text{s}) at which the spectral flux has fallen to one-half of its extrapolated value in the absence of suppression, we find Es=(5.12±0.25(stat)1.2+1.0(sys))×1019E_\text{s}=(5.12\pm0.25\,\text{(stat)}^{+1.0}_{-1.2}\,\text{(sys)}){\times}10^{19} eV.Comment: Replaced with published version.
