An Assessment of Integrated Flywheel System Technology
The current state of the technology in flywheel storage systems and ancillary components, the technology in light of future requirements, and technology development needs to rectify these shortfalls were identified. Technology efforts conducted in Europe and in the United States were reviewed. Results of developments in composite material rotors, magnetic suspension systems, motor/generators and electronics, and system dynamics and control were presented. The technology issues for the various disciplines and technology enhancement scenarios are discussed. A summary of the workshop, and conclusions and recommendations are presented

Neutralino Dark Matter Elastic Scattering in a Flat and Accelerating Universe
In SUGRA inspired supersymmetric models with universal boundary conditions
for the soft masses, the scalar cross section for the elastic
neutralino--nucleon scattering is in general several orders of magnitude below
the sensitivity of current experiments. For large and low
values, the theoretically predicted can
approach the sensitivity of these experiments () being at
the same time in agreement with recent cosmological data, which impose severe
restrictions on the CDM relic density, and with accelerator experiments which
put lower bounds on sparticle and Higgs boson masses. Further improvement of
the sensitivity of DAMA and CDMS experiments will probe the large
region of the parameter space in the vicinity of the boundaries of the

Testing the Unitarity of the CKM Matrix with a Space-Based Neutron Decay Experiment
If the Standard Model is correct, and fundamental fermions exist only in the
three generations, then the CKM matrix should be unitary. However, there
remains a question over a deviation from unitarity from the value of the
neutron lifetime. We discuss a simple space-based experiment that, at an orbit
height of 500 km above Earth, would measure the kinetic-energy, solid-angle,
flux spectrum of gravitationally bound neutrons (kinetic energy K<0.606 eV at
this altitude). The difference between the energy spectrum of neutrons that
come up from the Earth's atmosphere and that of the undecayed neutrons that
return back down to the Earth would yield a measurement of the neutron
lifetime. This measurement would be free of the systematics of laboratory
experiments. A package of mass kg could provide a 10^{-3} precision in

Constraints on Higher-Order Perturbative Corrections in Semileptonic Decays from Residual Renormalization-Scale Dependence
The constraint of a progressive decrease in residual renormalization scale
dependence with increasing loop order is developed as a method for obtaining
bounds on unknown higher-order perturbative corrections to
renormalization-group invariant quantities. This technique is applied to the
inclusive semileptonic process (explicitly known to
two-loop order) to obtain bounds on the three- and four-loop perturbative
coefficients that are not accessible via the renormalization group. Using the
principle of minimal sensitivity, an estimate is obtained for the perturbative
contributions to that incorporates

Planning, Delivering, and Evaluating Formalised Sport Coach Mentoring: Exploring the Role of the Programme Director
While research into sport coach mentoring is steadily increasing, currently the literature base is overly mentee-centric, overlooking the role and importance of additional stakeholders (e.g., mentors, programme directors, and sport governing bodies) involved within formalised sport coach mentoring programmes. Consequently, the aim of this research was to address this issue by examining the experiences of Jason, a Programme Director (PD) of a high performance formalised female sport coach mentoring programme. Data were collected via three in-depth semi-structured interviews, which were analysed thematically. The findings highlight the inherent complexities of planning and delivering effective formalised sport coach mentoring provision, especially within high performance contexts. Challenges associated with mentor recruitment and training were outlined, alongside the external influences of organisational agendas and beliefs on mentor pedagogy and practice. Jason also critically reflected upon to the problematic nature of evaluating formalised sport coach mentoring programmes. Practical recommendations and future avenues for empirical inquiry are discussed

Study of Charmonia near the deconfining transition on an anisotropic lattice with O(a) improved quark action
We study hadron properties near the deconfining transition in the quenched
lattice QCD simulation. This paper focuses on the heavy quarkonium states, such
as meson. In order to treat heavy quarks at , we adopt the
improved Wilson action on anisotropic lattice. We discuss bound
state observing the wave function and compare the meson correlators at above
and below . Although we find a large change of correlator near the ,
the strong spatial correlation which is almost the same as confinement phase
