NIST cybersecurity framework compliance: A generic model for dynamic assessment and predictive requirements
Organizations have become increasingly dependent on information systems to perform their business as usual activities. Moreover, organizations have registered an increase in the number of cyber-attacks, namely: industrial espionage, confidential information leakage, digital theft or pure damage to corporate image and reputation. In order to try to mitigate these issues, organizations like the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have made an effort to establish a cybersecurity protection guide. This paper presents a baseline for developing a generic and flexible model for manipulating key factors inside organizations: Processes, Human Resources and Technology, and extrapolate the percentage of compliance with the NIST cybersecurity framework, measure the current cybersecurity risk and allocate financial investments towards specific compliance objectives and reduce the overlapping of existing resources.info:eu-repo/semantics/submittedVersio
Enhancement of prompt photons in ultrarelativistic proton-proton collisions from nonlinear gluon evolution at small-
In this paper we estimate the influence of nonlinear gluon evolution in the
production of prompt photons at the LHC pp collider. We assume the validity of
collinear factorization and consider the EHKQS parton distributions, which are
solutions of the GLR-MQ evolution equations and describe quite well the DESY
HERA data, as input in our calculations. We find that both single and
double photon production are enhanced for low- photons and central
rapidities, while this effect is absent for the high- photons. The
implications of this effect for the Quark-Gluon Plasma searches and for the QCD

Proof-of-concept of a novel micro-bioreactor for fast development of industrial bioprocesses

of 4.5mL is operated under oscillatory flow mixing (OFM), where a controllable mixing and mass transfer rates are achieved under batch or continuous laminar flow conditions.
Several batch fermentations with a flocculent
Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain were carried out at initial glucose concentrations (S0) range of ~5–20 g/L and compared to yeast growth kinetics in a stirred tank (ST)
bioreactor. Aerobic fermentations were monitored ex situ in terms of pH, DO, glucose consumption, and biomass and ethanol production (wherever applicable). An average
biomass production increase of 83% was obtained in the micro-bioreactor when compared with the ST, with less 93.6% air requirements. It also corresponded to a
214% increase on biomass production when compared with growth in a shaken flask (SF) at S0=20 g/L. Further anaerobic fermentations at the same initial glucose concentration
ranges gave the opportunity to use state-ofthe-art fiber optics technology for on-line and real-time monitoring of this bioprocess. Time profiles of biomass concentration (measured as optical density (OD))were very

Mercapturate Pathway in the Tubulocentric Perspective of Diabetic Kidney Disease
BACKGROUND: The recent growing evidence that the proximal tubule underlies the
early pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is unveiling novel and
promising perspectives. This pathophysiological concept links tubulointerstitial
oxidative stress, inflammation, hypoxia, and fibrosis with the progression of
DKD. In this new angle for DKD, the prevailing molecular mechanisms on proximal
tubular cells emerge as an innovative opportunity for prevention and management
of DKD as well as to improve diabetic dysmetabolism.
SUMMARY: The mercapturate pathway (MAP) is a classical metabolic detoxification
route for xenobiotics that is emerging as an integrative circuitry detrimental to
resolve tubular inflammation caused by endogenous electrophilic species. Herein
we review why and how it might underlie DKD. Key Messages: MAP is a hallmark of
proximal tubular cell function, and cysteine-S-conjugates might represent targets
for early intervention in DKD. Moreover, the biomonitoring of urinary
mercapturates from metabolic inflammation products might be relevant for the

K-means clustering combined with principal component analysis for material profiling in automotive supply chains
At a time where available data is rapidly increasing in both volume and variety, descrip- tive Data Mining (DM) can be an important tool to support meaningful decision-making processes in dynamic Supply Chain (SC) contexts. Up until now, however, scarce attention has been given to the application of DM techniques in the field of inventory management. Here, we take advantage of descriptive DM to detect and grasp important patterns among several features that coexist in a real-world automotive electronics SC. Concretely, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is employed to analyze and understand the interrelations between ten quantitative and dependent variables in a multi-item/multi-supplier environment. Afterwards, the principal component scores are character- ized via a K-means clustering, allowing us to classify the samples into four clusters and to derive di↵erent profiles for the multiple inventory items.
