Characterization of aroma-active compounds in black sapote (Diospyros digyna Jacq.)
The volatile compounds of black sapote fruit were isolated by simultaneous distillation-solvent extraction and analysed by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A total of 32 volatile constituents were detected, which represented 4.57 mg kg−1 of the fruit. The composition of volatile constituents of the fruit included 9 terpene compounds (49.1% of the total volatile composition), 11 ketones (9%), 5 aldehydes (29.2%), 4 alcohols (3.6%), 2 esters (8.2%) and a paraffin (0.8%). Major compounds were (Z)-b-ocimene (26.6% of the total volatile composition), (E)-cinnamaldehyde (25.5%) and limonene (17.0%). By application of odour activity values, seven constituents were considered as aroma-active volatiles, from which the most important were (E)-cinnamaldehyde, 3-methylbutanal, limonene, (Z)-β-ocimene, linalool, methyl (E)-cinnamate, and β-caryophyllene
Do cultivar, geographical location and crop season influence phenolic profile of walnut leaves?
Walnut leaves from nine different cultivars (Arco, Franquette, Hartley, Lara,
Marbot, Mayette, Meylannaise, Parisienne and Rego) were studied for their phenolic
compounds. Samples were harvested along three consecutive years, at two different
geographical locations, in order to evaluate if significant differences in the phenolics
composition can be related with genetic, climatic or geographical factors. Nine compounds
(3-caffeoylquinic, 3-p-coumaroylquinic and 4-p-coumaroylquinic acids, quercetin 3-
galactoside, quercetin 3-arabinoside, quercetin 3-xyloside, quercetin 3-rhamnoside, a
quercetin 3-pentoside derivative and a kaempferol 3-pentoside derivative) were quantified
using an HPLC-DAD methodology. The qualitative profiles were identical for all samples,
but differences were observed in terms of individual compounds’ contents. Multivariate
statistical analysis was carried out, showing that significant differences exist among

Bioactive properties and chemical composition of six walnut (Juglans regia L.) cultivars
The chemical composition, antioxidant potential and antimicrobial activity were studied in six walnuts (Juglans regia L.) cultivars (cv. Franquette, Lara, Marbot, Mayette, Mellanaise and Parisienne) produced in Portugal. Concerning their chemical composition the main
constituent of fruits was fat ranging from 78.83% to 82.14%, being the nutritional value around 720 kcal per 100 g of fruits. Linoleic acid
was the major fatty acid reaching the maximum value of 60.30% (cv. Lara) followed by oleic, linolenic and palmitic acids. The aqueous
extracts of walnut cultivars were investigated by the reducing power assay, the scavenging effect on DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl)
radicals and b-carotene linoleate model system. All the walnut extracts exhibited antioxidant capacity in a concentration-
dependent manner being the lowest EC50 values obtained with extracts of cv. Parisienne. Their antimicrobial capacity was also
checked against gram positive (Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus) and gram negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa,
Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae) and fungi (Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans), revealing activity against the different
tested microorganisms
SETTING JARINGAN MIKROTIK DAN PEMBUATAN CHANNEL YOUTUBE UNTUK MASJID JAMI’ MANARUL HUDA SUMBERSARI KOTA MALANG
Abstract. Information technology is one of the tools in various fields, including in the field of Islamic da'wah. Islamic da'wah with information technology in the form of live streaming recitation to youtube (online da'wah) is viral now. This online da'wah was the wish of Takmir and the congregation of Masjid Jami' Manarul Huda. Setting up the internet network with Mikrotik and making channels on youtube at the Masjid Jami' Manarul Huda was community empowerment, namely the application of science and technology to the community at the Masjid Jami' Manarul Huda. This program was a form of community service from STMIK PPKIA Pradnya Paramita (STIMATA) Malang. This community service aims to apply the knowledge that was on campus to the wider community, especially the Masjid Jami 'Manarul Huda so that they can carry out wider preaching and serve the congregation. The installation of the Telkom Indihome network was carried out at the end of December 2018 and also proxy settings and the creation of a youtube channel, namely "manarul_huda official" completed in early January 2019. After the internet network and hotspot were built, congregations could use free internet access at the mosque and from routine religious studies could do live streaming or upload videos about da'wah activities at the mosque so that it can be accessed by fellow Muslims even though they don't come to the mosque. Hopefully, this program can provide benefits for the congregation and Takmir of Masjid Jami 'Manarul Huda Malang City. Abstrak. Teknologi informasi merupakan salah satu alat bantu dalam berbagai bidang tidak terkecuali dalam bidang dakwah Islam. Dakwah Islam dengan teknologi informasi yang berupa pengajian live streaming ke youtube (dakwah online) sekarang ini lagi viral. Dakwah online ini merupakan keinginan dari takmir dan jama’ah Masjid Jami’ Manarul Huda. Setting jaringan internet dengan mikrotik dan pembuatan channel di youtube di Masjid Jami’ Manarul Huda ini merupakan pemberdayaan masyarakat yaitu program penerapan iptek pada masyarakat di Masjid Jami’ Manarul Huda. Program ini sebagai bentuk pengabdian masyarakat dari STMIK PPKIA Pradnya Paramita (STIMATA) Malang. Tujuan Pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengaplikasikan keilmuan yang ada pada kampus ke masyarkat luas kususnya Masjid Jami’ Manarul Huda, supaya bisa melakukan dakwahnya lebih luas lagi dan melayani jama’ah. Pemasangan jaringan Telkom Indihome dilakukan pada akhir Desember 2018 dan juga settting mikrotik serta pembuatan channel youtube yaitu “manarul_huda official” selesai awal Januari 2019. Setelah terbangun jaringan internet dan hotspotnya, maka jamaah bisa menggunakan akses internet gratis di masjid dan dari kajian rutin keagamaan bisa melakukan live streaming atau upload video tentang aktifitas dakwah dimasjid supaya bisa diakses oleh sesama muslim walaupun tidak datang ke masjid. Mudah-mudahan program ini bisa memberikan manfaat bagi jama’ah dan takmir Masjid Jami’ Manarul Huda Kota malang.

Failure in 1813: The Decline of French Light Infantry and its effect on Napoleon\u27s German Campaign
Although light infantry held a prominent place within the French corps system, and had proven their professional reputation as valuable and decisive assets in numerous Napoleonic campaigns, they were relegated to a second-class status behind other units during the reconstruction of the Grande Armée. Napoleon’s incessant demands for line-infantry units, as well as a powerful Imperial Guard, led to the creation of ineffective light infantry regiments that were unprepared for the rigors of their tactical and operational duties. Their usual tactical capabilities of skirmishing, reconnaissance, and screening were lost on the newly formed regiments, who were unable to uphold the mantel of French light infantry. Napoleon continued to place heavy demands upon ill-prepared units, which resulted in tactical and operational problems throughout the campaign. The French Army’s operational functions were ineffective, because light infantry units were unable to protect their supply trains, communications lines, screen their advancements, or even follow their enemy. These problems began to plague the Grande Armée until they had ultimately affected their operational capabilities too, which caused the French Army to be unable to achieve a decisive victory in almost a dozen conflicts spanning a period of six months. The initial subordination of light infantry during Napoleon’s reformation of the Grande Armée had dire consequences for the French in 1813, and ultimately led to Napoleon’s defeat in the German Campaign in 1813
Effect of nut-in-shell storage conditions on volatile profile in macadamia nuts
In order to study the effect of storage conditions on the volatile profile of macadamia nuts, both temperature and the presence of oxygen were controlled. Nuts-in-shell of variety 246 were stored at -18, 10 and 15°C. At each temperature, samples were stored in net bags and vacuum packed in EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol) for a period of 2 months. Prior to testing, samples were cracked and roasted. Analytical tests included peroxide value, p-anisidine and TBA (thiobarbituric acid number). Volatile compounds were isolated using Head-Space-Solid-Phase-Micro Extraction (DVB/PDMS/CAR). Volatiles were analysed by chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The results show that at –18°C peroxide, p-Anisidine and TBA values were lower compared to the other 2 storage temperatures. This indicates that lipid degradation was lowest at this temperature. The main compounds found in volatile components of both fresh and roasted macadamia nut were hydrocarbons, aldehydes, and ketones. Several compounds deriving from lipid degradation and Maillard reaction were detected such as hexanal, thiazole. This indicates that changes in volatiles of macadamia nuts result from compounds present in macadamia nuts which were the precursors of volatile compounds produced during roasting. Storage materials which were net bag and EVOH showed no significant effect on volatile produced during 2 months storage trial. Volatiles generated depend mainly on processing steps such as roasting. The lipid degradation was minimised at low temperature. Therefore storage conditions for nut-in-shell influence the final macadamia kernel quality, especially shelf-life, as peroxide value and other lipid degradation product were used as criteria of shelf-life changes while volatile produced by Maillard reaction indicated roasting quality.
