Evolution of a coherent array of Bose-Einstein Condensates in a magnetic trap
We investigate the evolution process of the interference pattern for a
coherent array of Bose-Einstein condensates in a magnetic trap after the
optical lattices are switched off. It is shown that there is a decay and
revival of the density oscillation for the condensates confined in the magnetic
trap. We find that, due to the confinement of the magnetic trap, the
interference effect is much stronger than that of the experiment induced by
Pedri et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett, {\bf 87}, 220401), where the magnetic trap is
switched off too. The interaction correction to the interference effect is also

The mineralization of commercial organic fertilizers at 8°C temperature
In organic production only organic fertilizers and soil conditioners can be used to supply
the soil with nitrogen. The mineralization of these products is slow and so there can be
problems with the supply of nitrogen, when the demand of the plants is high. The supply of
nitrogen from organic products depends on the speed of their mineralization which is
primarily influenced by the composition and formulation of their raw material.
In apple production in the Alps-region especially during spring problems with nitrogen
supply are common. In that period, the weather conditions are sometimes bad, the
temperature in the soil is low and mineralization starts slowly - apple trees demand more
nitrogen than the soil can deliver.
To compensate the demand of the apple tree organic growers can not use mineral
fertilizers but only organic fertilizers and soil conditioners whose mineralization rate is often
unknown. There is a strong need in organic fruit production to receive more information
about the behaviour of fertilizers in the soil especially concerning their N-release under
different conditions.
To acquire that information, incubation experiments under controlled conditions
(temperature, type of soil, humidity of the soil) were carried out in the laboratory to
determine the mineralization-rate of different organic fertilizers and soil conditioners which
are available in our region

Spatial Microsimulation for Regional Analysis of Marine Related Employment
This paper presents a modelling framework that facilitates marine policy impact assessment at a scale that is below the national level. The spatial microsimulation approach provides a regional level of analysis not generally possible when dealing with ocean economy statistics that are often even difficult to compile at a national level and offers a powerful modelling tool for maritime spatial planning. The spatial microsimulation model is used to profile the spatial distribution of marine related employment in Ireland. It is then used to carry out a micro-level regional assessment of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions on the distribution of employment in the Irish ocean economy. The results demonstrate that many of those made unemployed in the ocean economy during the first lock down were outside the main urban centers, particularly in the case of marine tourism and leisure and the marine natural resource based industries. The paper argues that the use of such spatial microsimulation approaches can facilitate a more evidence based policy response to an economic shock, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, in terms of industry and regional specific supports and can also inform more effective marine spatial planning

Purification, growth, and characterization of Zn(x)Cd(1-x)Se crystals
The purification of starting materials which were used in the growth of Zn(x)Cd(1-x)Se (x = 0.2) single crystals using the traveling solution method (TSM) is reported. Up to 13 cm long single crystals and as grown resistivities of 6 x 10(exp 12) ohm/cm could be achieved. Infrared and Raman spectra of Zn(0.2)Cd(0.8)Se are also presented and discussed
Scaling Study and Thermodynamic Properties of the cubic Helimagnet FeGe
The critical behavior of the cubic helimagnet FeGe was obtained from
isothermal magnetization data in very close vicinity of the ordering
temperature. A thorough and consistent scaling analysis of these data revealed
the critical exponents , , and . The
anomaly in the specific heat associated with the magnetic ordering can be well
described by the critical exponent . The values of these
exponents corroborate that the magnetic phase transition in FeGe belongs to the
isotropic 3D-Heisenberg universality class. The specific heat data are well
described by ab initio phonon calculations and confirm the localized character
