    Repeated brake failure accidents occur on the Buntu-Banyumas Road section, which features a 1 km downhill geometric condition. The braking force required increases with a vehicle's weight, speed, and elevation. This research aims to identify the causes of brake failure accidents related to the long downhill geometric condition of the road. The methods include fault tree analysis, road accident mapping, and safe speed calculation. The data used have road geometric data, vehicle speed, and vehicle weight. The research findings indicate that brake failure accidents on the Buntu-Banyumas Road section are caused by driver behavior, repeatedly applying brakes on a road with a slope exceeding the critical maximum gradient, leading to overheating and brake failure. Road authorities must maintain guardrails, install speed limit signs, and implement emergency escape ramps. ABSTRAK Kecelakaan rem blong terjadi secara berulang pada ruas Jalan Buntu-Banyumas yang memiliki kondisi geometrik berupa turunan sepanjang 1 km. Semakin berat suatu kendaraan, semakin tinggi kecepatan kendaraan dan semakin tinggi posisi kendaraan maka semakin besar daya pengereman yang dibutuhkan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab kecelakaan rem blong terkait dengan kondisi geometrik jalan berupa turunan panjang. Metode yang digunakan berupa Fault Tree Analysis, Road Accident Mapping dan perhitungan kecepatan aman. Data yang digunakan berupa data geometrik jalan, kecepatan kendaraan, dan berat kendaraan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penyebab kecelakaan rem blong pada ruas Jalan Raya Buntu-Banyumas disebabkan karena perilaku pengemudi yang melakukan pengereman secara berulang pada kondisi jalan yang menurun melebihi batas maksimal kelandaian kritis sehingga menimbulkan overheat dan rem blong.     LEVEL BERPIKIR METAKOGNISI MAHASISWA SELAMA PERKULIAHAN ONLINE DI MASA PANDEMI

    The ability to reflect on yourself or think metacognition is very important for students. Because with this ability students can learn to analyze their mistakes or weaknesses to be corrected and developed in the future. During the pandemic, lectures were carried out online, this resulted in a tendency for students to not seriously attend lectures. The absence of direct supervision from lecturers is one of the reasons this can happen. Thus, researchers assume that the level of metacognition of students who carry out lectures online will also decrease. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the level of student metacognition during online lectures that have been implemented. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive research approach with a survey method. The research subjects were 120 students who had attended online courses at least 8 meetings or 2 months. The results showed that 83 students were at the lowest level of metacognition (Tacit Use). Meanwhile, students who are at the highest metacognition level are 2 students (Reflective Use). Thus, researchers can conclude that the level of student metacognition during online lectures is still very low

    How Do Prospective Teachers Argue in Focus Group Discussion? Toulmin's Argumentation Study

    Studentsā€™ argumentation ability is necessary for education today, which emphasizes the student-centered learning process. One way to see studentsā€™ argumentation ability is by having a discussion. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the Toulmin argumentation process for students during focus group discussions (FGD). This research is qualitative. The data collection instrument used was an open-ended questionnaire assisted by Google Form that contained common problems of the distance learning process during a pandemic. The subjects of this study consisted of fifty students from the University of Mataram. The results showed that the argumentation process was divided into three categories. The first category was the one-sentence argument. There were 58 %, or 29 students, who belonged in this category. The second category was the two sentences argument. There are 30 %, or 15 students belonged in this category. Lastly, 12 % or six students belonged to the more than three sentence argument category. The results of this study indicated that many students could not provide complete arguments. Thus, the role of lecturers is significant to improve studentsā€™ ability in providing complete argumentations. Therefore, the researchers suggest that lecturers should apply learning models that invite students to argue and discuss

    Kota Bogor menjadi kota dengan jumlah kemacetan tertinggi ketiga di Provinsi Jawa Barat setelah Bandung dan Tasikmalaya. Banyaknya aktivitas warga Bogor di sekitar kawasan pasar mengakibatkan kawasan Pasar Bogor mengalami kemacetan seperti hambatan samping badan jalan, parkir dan bongkar muat, banyaknya PKL yang menjajakan dagangannya di badan jalan dan pejalan kaki menyebabkan kapasitas jalan di kawasan Pasar Bogor berkurang dan banyak terjadi tundaan kendaraan, pada ruas Jalan Suryakencana dan Jalan Roda terdapat kawasan pertokoan dan lapak pedagang dengan lokasi parkir yang berada di jalan (on street). Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) 1997 untuk mengukur kinerja ruas jalan, kinerja simpang dan analisis parkir. Selanjutnya, menghitung kapasitas jalan berdasarkan perhitungan kinerja setelah penanganan dengan kondisi sama seperti eksisting. Dengan dilakukan manajemen lalu lintas, diperoleh peningkatan kapasitas jalan pada ruas Jalan Suryakencana dana Jalan Roda. Kondisi eksisting kapasitas pada Ruas Jalan Suryakencana adalah 1841 smp/jam dan Ruas Jalan Roda adalah 1841,79 smp/jam. Manajemen lalu lintas yang diterapkan pada kedua ruas tersebut adalah manajemen kapasitas dengan penanganan perubahan sudut parkir dari 60ļ¹¾ menjadi 0ļ¹¾, maka lajur efektif jalan menjadi 3,5 meter dengan kapasitas jalan meningkat menjadi 3135 smp/jam dan 2117 smp/jam

    The Relationship between Overloading and Over Dimension of Freight Vehicle

    The freight vehicle, as the primary mode of goods distribution, has a relatively small carrying capacity.Ā  However, it is forced to be able to meet the demand. As a result, many business actors overload their freight vehicles to reduce transportation costs. In organizing the transportation of goods, the indications are such violations in vehicle dimensions (over dimensions) in line with the business actors' vehicle overload. This study aims to determine the effect of over-size on an overload of the freight vehicle. This study's research method is a quantitative method that used a survey technique to collect the data and used the statistical method of regression and correlation as the analysis method. The study results reveal that the level of overloading at Widang weighbridge reached an average of 44.72% per day. In comparison, the level of overloading at the Losarang weighbridge reached 87.85% per day. The vehicle dimension measurement survey results showed that from 159 vehicle samples, there were 107 over-dimension vehicles in the form of length, width, and height, and there were 32 vehicles, which increased their tire size. The statistical analysis of regression and correlation tests showed that only the addition of the maximum vehicle dimensions, which had a significant effect on the overweight

    Pembangunan kawasan wisata minapolitan di Kota Semarang, diperkirakan akan menimbulkan tarikan dan bangkitan perjalanan baru. Pembangunan kawasan tersebut akan berdampak kepada kinerja lalu lintas disekitarnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dan memprediksi dampak lalu lintas akibat adanya pembangunan Kawasan minapolitan dan memberikan rekomendasi untuk mitigasinya. Dalam pengumpulan data primer dilakukan melalui survei langsung dilapangan antara lain survei kecepatan sesaat, inventarisasi ruas dan simpang, volume lalu lintas, angkutan umum dan pejalan kaki serta data sekunder yang diperoleh dari data dinas terkait. Dampak yang ditimbulkan pada masa konstruksi yaitu aktivitas mobilisasi dari alat berat, tarikan dan bangkitan aktivitas pekerja, masalah keselamatan dan kesehatan. Sedangkan pada masa operasional yaitu ketersediaan lahan parkir, aktivitas pejalan kaki, geometrik jalan dan desain pintu masuk dan keluar serta keselamatan dan kelancaran lalu lintas. Kinerja ruas dan simpang Sumurgunung mengalami kenaikan dari tahap eksisting, masa konstruksi, masa operasional sampai dengan masa 5 tahun mendatang dari masa operasional. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan minapolitan akan menimbulkan tarikan perjalanan sebesar 103,31 smp/jam dan bangkitan sebesar 102,82 smp/jam.The development of the minapolitan tourist area in Semarang City, is expected to generate attraction and generation of new trips. The development of this area will have an impact on the performance of the surrounding traffic. The purpose of this research is to analyze and predict the impact of traffic due to the development of the minapolitan area and provide recommendations for mitigation. Primary data collection is carried out through direct field surveys, including instantaneous speed surveys, inventory of sections and intersections, traffic volume, public transport and pedestrians and secondary data obtained from data from related agencies. The impact during the construction period is the mobilization of heavy equipment, the pull, and generation of worker activities, safety, and health issues. Meanwhile, during the operational period, namely the availability of parking space, pedestrian activity, geometric roads and entrance, and exit design as well as traffic safety and smoothness, the performance of sections and intersections, has increased from the existing stage, the construction period, the operational period to the next 5 years from the operational period. The results of the analysis show that minapolitan development will cause travel attraction of 103.31 pcu/hour and a generation of 102.82 pcu/hour

    The Influence of Further Study Information Services on The Interest of Enterprising Students of SMK Negeri 2 Mataram

    This study aims to determine whether the guidance of further study information services affects the higher education interest of students of SMKN 2 Mataram. This study uses a quantitative research approach with the Pre-Experimental Design method in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The variables of this research are the interest in entering higher education and the independent variable of further study information service guidance. The study population was SMKN 2 Mataram, while the sample was students of class XI who attended further study information service guidance, namely 36 (thirty) students, who were determined by incidental sampling technique. Based on the results of data analysis with SPSS 17.0 for windows software with the Paired Sampe t Test procedure, the results show that t is greater than t table, t (count) (3.986)> t (table) (1.690). So the hypothesis of this research: there is an effect of further study information services on student interest in learning at SMKN 2 Mataram is accepted. The results of this study prove that information services for further studies have an effect on student interest in entering higher education. Therefore, it can be used as input and material for consideration for Guidance and Counseling Teachers in order to increase their role in directing vocational students who intend to continue to a higher level of education after completing their studies
