PB.
Nitrogen mineralization from organic amendments predicted by laboratory and field incubations
Reliable methods to estimate nitrogen (N) mineralization from organic amendments are needed to improve the fertilization recommendations for organic horticultural crops. With this aim, N mineralization from farmyard manure compost (FYMC), commercial organic fertilizer (COF) based on materials that are prompt to rapid N mineralization and green manure was determined in field situation where environmental factors affect mineralization rates and under controlled laboratory conditions that may not reflect conditions in the field. The ability of field and laboratory incubations to predict N mineralization was estimated during a field organic crop rotation set up with a cover crop of rye and vetch, followed by Portuguese cabbage and carrot. The relationship between mineralized N in field incubation and crop N accumulation suggests that field incubation is effective to predict N mineralization from FYMC, COF and green manure. However, the pattern of N mineralization from FYMC and green manure was different in field and laboratory incubation conditions as opposed to N mineralization from COF that was similar in both incubations. ? 2020, ? 2020 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.6B1D-516F-1A2A | Lu?s Miguel Cortez Mesquita de BritoN/
Comparison of Running Distance Variables and Body Load in Competitions Based on Their Results: A Full-Season Study of Professional Soccer Players
The aims of this study were to compare the external workload in win, draw and defeat
matches and to compare first and second halves in the Iranian Premier League. Observations
on individual match performance measures were undertaken on thirteen outfield players (age,
28.6 ± 2.7 years; height, 182.1 ± 8.6 cm; body mass, 75.3 ± 8.2 kg; BMI, 22.6 ± 0.7 kg/m2
) competing
in the Iranian Premier League. High-speed activities selected for analysis included total duration
of matches, total distance, average speed, high-speed running distance, sprint distance, maximal
speed and GPS-derived body load data. In general, there were higher workloads in win matches
when compared with draw or defeat for all variables; higher workloads in the first halves of win
and draw matches; higher total distance, high-speed running distance and body load in the second
half in defeat matches. Specifically, lower average speed was found in matches with a win than with
draw or defeat (p < 0.05). Sprint distance was higher in the first half of win than defeat matches and
high-speed running distance was lower in draw than defeat matches (all, p < 0.05). In addition, first
half presented higher values for all variables, regardless of the match result. Specifically, high-speed
running distance was higher in the first half of matches with a win (p = 0.08) and total distance was
higher in the first half of matches with a draw (p = 0.012). In conclusion, match result influences the
external workload demands and must be considered in subsequent training sessions and matches
Immersive narrative in audio games : listening and sound landscape in A Blind Legend.
This article intends to reflect on the resources used to build an immersive sound narrative in the game ?A Blind Legend? developed by the French company DOWiNO. A descriptive analysis (TRIVI?OS, 2008) was carried out supported by pre-defined analytical operators that intend to support the search for the unveiling of the adopted acoustic strategies and to identify their immersive potential. The results point out that A Blind Legend is an immersive sound game that uses narrative and technical strategies to create a sound ambience, enhancing new forms of content
Noncommutative field gas driven inflation
We investigate early time inflationary scenarios in an Universe filled with a
dilute noncommutative bosonic gas at high temperature. A noncommutative bosonic
gas is a gas composed of bosonic scalar field with noncommutative field space
on a commutative spacetime. Such noncommutative field theories was recently
introduced as a generalization of quantum mechanics on a noncommutative
spacetime. As key features of these theories are Lorentz invariance violation
and CPT violation. In the present study we use a noncommutative bosonic field
theory that besides the noncommutative parameter shows up a further
parameter . This parameter controls the range of the
noncommutativity and acts as a regulator for the theory. Both parameters play a
key role in the modified dispersion relations of the noncommutative bosonic
field, leading to possible striking consequences for phenomenology. In this
work we obtain an equation of state for the
noncommutative bosonic gas relating pressure and energy density , in
the limit of high temperature. We analyse possible behaviours for this gas
parameters , and , so that , which
is the region where the Universe enters an accelerated phase.Comment: Reference added. Version to appear in Journal of Cosmology and

nutrition and performance in football
Nutrition is an undeniable part of promoting health and performance among football (soccer) players.
Nevertheless, nutritional strategies adopted in elite football can vary significantly depending on culture,
habit and practical constraints and might not always be supported by scientific evidence. Therefore, a group of
28 Portuguese experts on sports nutrition, sports science and sports medicine sought to discuss current practices in the elite football landscape and review the existing evidence on nutritional strategies to be applied when supporting football players. Starting from understanding football?s physical and physiological demands, five different moments were identified: preparing to play, match-day, recovery after matches, between matches and during injury or rehabilitation periods. When applicable, specificities of nutritional support to young athletes and female players were also addressed. The result is a set of practical recommendations that gathered consensus among involved experts, highlighting carbohydrates periodisation, hydration and conscious use of dietary supplements.D915-7373-ED16 | Cesar LeaoN/
