The paper reports the follow-up of a semi-continuous anaerobic reactor operation, fed at a constant organic loading rate (OLR) of 1.1kgVSm-3d-1 with both the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) and fruit and vegetable wastes during 12 months. Biogas production, physical-chemical parameters, and stability indicators: partial alkalinity/total alkalinity and volatile fate acid/total alkalinity were measured in the effluents. Total biogas yield was 112 lkgVS-1in normal pressure and temperature conditions (NPTC). This result is lower than the yield attained with other waste sources in the same reactor. Stability indicators showed a well development of the entire anaerobic process. In addition to this, a reduction in COD (chemical oxygen demand), VS (volatile solids) of 77% and 47.5% respectively, denoted an efficient degradation of the organic matter. However, high COD values obtained in the effluents show the need of its treatment before itsfinal disposal.
The aim of this work was to monitor the degradation process in a 14,7 m3 anaerobic reactor fed with a mixture of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) and cereals waste (CW) for eight months. Biogas production and the chemical parameters pH, conductivity (CE), volatile Fatty Acids (VFA), partial alkalinity (PA), total (TA) and indicators of stability (alpha and VFA/AT) were determined. Furthermore, the BOD, COD, TNK, NH4⁺, %TS, %VS and different ions in the CD were measured. The results showed a biogas production of 150 lKgSV-1, working in a stable condition throughout the process, except in the months 5 and 8, demonstrating the sensitivity of indicators of process stability. The characteristics of the effluent showed the need for treatment before the final disposal of waste water in the soil or in surface water.
This work was focused on monitoring the degradation process in a 14.7 m3 anaerobic reactor fed with cereals waste, with different loading rate for seven months. The effluent was treated by a treatment system (TS) consisted in three ponds in series; the treated water was reused in the reactor. The cumulative biogas production (CBP) and different physicalchemical parameters in the effluent and in the TS were determined. The results showed a CBP of 217 lKgVS-1 up to month 7, working in a stable condition throughout the process, according to the variables analyzed. The effluent showed high values of BOD, COD and NH4⁺, removing 82%, 83% and 84% respectively in the TS. The CE was increased, probably due to the recirculation of the effluent and as a result of the increase in the alkalinity. However, the characteristics of this effluent showed that can be risky to use as irrigation.Asociación Argentina de Energías Renovables y Medio Ambiente (ASADES

The NIKA2 instrument, a dual-band kilopixel KID array for millimetric astronomy
NIKA2 (New IRAM KID Array 2) is a camera dedicated to millimeter wave
astronomy based upon kilopixel arrays of Kinetic Inductance Detectors (KID).
The pathfinder instrument, NIKA, has already shown state-of-the-art detector
performance. NIKA2 builds upon this experience but goes one step further,
increasing the total pixel count by a factor 10 while maintaining the
same per pixel performance. For the next decade, this camera will be the
resident photometric instrument of the Institut de Radio Astronomie
Millimetrique (IRAM) 30m telescope in Sierra Nevada (Spain). In this paper we
give an overview of the main components of NIKA2, and describe the achieved
detector performance. The camera has been permanently installed at the IRAM 30m
telescope in October 2015. It will be made accessible to the scientific
community at the end of 2016, after a one-year commissioning period. When this
happens, NIKA2 will become a fundamental tool for astronomers worldwide.Comment: Proceedings of the 16th Low Temperature Detectors workshop. To be

Muon-induced background in the EDELWEISS dark matter search
A dedicated analysis of the muon-induced background in the EDELWEISS dark
matter search has been performed on a data set acquired in 2009 and 2010. The
total muon flux underground in the Laboratoire Souterrain de Modane (LSM) was
measured to be \,muons/m/d. The
modular design of the muon-veto system allows the reconstruction of the muon
trajectory and hence the determination of the angular dependent muon flux in
LSM. The results are in good agreement with both MC simulations and earlier
measurements. Synchronization of the muon-veto system with the phonon and
ionization signals of the Ge detector array allowed identification of
muon-induced events. Rates for all muon-induced events and of WIMP-like events were extracted. After
vetoing, the remaining rate of accepted muon-induced neutrons in the
EDELWEISS-II dark matter search was determined to be at 90%\,C.L. Based on
these results, the muon-induced background expectation for an anticipated
exposure of 3000\,\kgd\ for EDELWEISS-3 is
events.Comment: 21 pages, 16 figures, Accepted for publication in Astropart. Phy
