Superconformal constraints for QCD conformal anomalies
Anomalous superconformal Ward identities and commutator algebra in N = 1
super-Yang-Mills theory give rise to constraints between the QCD special
conformal anomalies of conformal composite operators. We evaluate the
superconformal anomalies that appear in the product of renormalized conformal
operators and the trace anomaly in the supersymmetric spinor current and check
the constraints at one-loop order. In this way we prove the universality of QCD
conformal anomalies, which define the non-diagonal part of the anomalous
dimension matrix responsible for scaling violations of exclusive QCD amplitudes

Transverse momentum spectra of identified particles in high energy collisions with statistical hadronisation model
A detailed analysis is performed of transverse momentum spectra of several
identified hadrons in high energy collisions within the framework of the
statistical model of hadronisation. The effect of the decay chain following
hadron generation is accurately taken into account. The considered
centre-of-mass energies range from ~ 10 to 30 GeV in hadronic collisions (pi+
p, pp and Kp) and from ~ 15 to 45 GeV in e+e- collisions. A clear consistency
is found between the temperature parameter extracted from the present analysis
and that obtained from fits to average hadron multiplicities in the same
collision systems. This finding indicates that in the hadronisation, the
production of different particle species and their momentum spectra are two

Relationship Between Spirituality, Meaning in Life, Psychological Distress, Wish for Hastened Death, and Their Influence on Quality of Life in Palliative Care Patients.
Spiritual, existential, and psychological issues represent central components of quality of life (QOL) in palliative care. A better understanding of the dynamic nature underlying these components is essential for the development of interventions tailored to the palliative context.
The aims were to explore 1) the relationship between spirituality, meaning in life, wishes for hastened death and psychological distress in palliative patients and 2) the extent to which these nonphysical determinants influence QOL.
A cross-sectional study involving face-to-face interviews with Swiss palliative patients was performed, including the Schedule for Meaning in Life Evaluation (SMILE), the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Spiritual Well-Being Scale (FACIT-Sp), the Idler Index of Religiosity (IIR), the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and the Schedule of Attitudes toward Hastened Death (SAHD). QOL was measured with a single-item visual analogue scale (0-10).
Two hundred and six patients completed the protocol (51.5% female; mean age = 67.5 years). The results indicated a significant negative relationship between FACIT-Sp/SMILE and HADS total scores (P = 0.000). The best model for QOL explained 32.8% of the variance (P = 0.000) and included the FACIT-Sp, SMILE, and SAHD total scores, the IIR "private religiosity" score, as well as the HADS "depression" score.
Both spiritual well-being and meaning in life appear to be potential protective factors against psychological distress at the end of life. Since nonphysical determinants play a major role in shaping QOL at the end of life, there is a need for the development of meaning-oriented and spiritual care interventions tailored to the fragility of palliative patients
Multiplicity distributions in a thermodynamical model of hadron production in collisions
Predictions of a thermodynamical model of hadron production for multiplicity
distributions in annihilations at LEP and PEP-PETRA centre of mass
energies are shown. The production process is described as a two-step process
in which primary hadrons emitted from the thermal source decay into final
observable particles. The final charged tracks multiplicity distributions turn
out to be of Negative Binomial type and are in quite good agreement with
experimental observations. The average number of clans calculated from fitted
Negative Binomial coincides with the average number of primary hadrons
predicted by the thermodynamical model, suggesting that clans should be

Length of hospital stay for elective electrophysiological procedures: a survey from the European Heart Rhythm Association
AIMS: Electrophysiological (EP) operations that have traditionally involved long hospital lengths of stay (LOS) are now being undertaken as day case procedures. The coronavirus disease-19 pandemic served as an impetus for many centres to shorten LOS for EP procedures. This survey explores LOS for elective EP procedures in the modern era. METHODS AND RESULTS: An online survey consisting of 27 multiple-choice questions was completed by 245 respondents from 35 countries. With respect to de novo cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) implantations, day case procedures were reported for 79.5% of implantable loop recorders, 13.3% of pacemakers (PMs), 10.4% of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and 10.2% of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices. With respect to CIED generator replacements, day case procedures were reported for 61.7% of PMs, 49.2% of ICDs, and 48.2% of CRT devices. With regard to ablations, day case procedures were reported for 5.7% of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablations, 10.7% of left-sided ablations, and 17.5% of right-sided ablations. A LOS ≥ 2 days for CIED implantation was reported for 47.7% of PM, 54.5% of ICDs, and 56.9% of CRT devices and for 54.5% of AF ablations, 42.2% of right-sided ablations, and 46.1% of left-sided ablations. Reimbursement (43-56%) and bed availability (20-47%) were reported to have no consistent impact on the organization of elective procedures. CONCLUSION: There is a wide variation in the LOS for elective EP procedures. The LOS for some procedures appears disproportionate to their complexity. Pion and Kaon Production in and Collisions at Next-to-Leading Order
We present new sets of fragmentation functions for charged pions and kaons,
both at leading and next-to-leading order. They are fitted to data on inclusive
charged-hadron production in annihilation taken by TPC at PEP (~GeV) and to similar data by ALEPH at LEP, who discriminated between
events with charm, bottom, and light- flavour fragmentation in their
charged-hadron sample. We treat all partons independently and to properly
incorporate the charm and bottom thresholds. Due to the sizeable energy gap
between PEP and LEP, we are sensitive to the scaling violation in the
fragmentation process, which allows us to extract a value for the asymptotic
scale parameter of QCD, . Recent data on inclusive charged-hadron
production in tagged three-jet events by OPAL and similar data for longitudinal
electron polarization by ALEPH allow us to pin down the gluon fragmentation
functions. Our new fragmentation functions lead to an excellent description of
a multitude of other data on inclusive charged-hadron production,
ranging from ~GeV to LEP energy. In addition, they agree nicely
with the transverse-momentum spectra of single charged hadrons measured by H1
and ZEUS in photoproduction at the collider HERA, which represents a

Systematic event generator tuning for the LHC
In this article we describe Professor, a new program for tuning model
parameters of Monte Carlo event generators to experimental data by
parameterising the per-bin generator response to parameter variations and
numerically optimising the parameterised behaviour. Simulated experimental
analysis data is obtained using the Rivet analysis toolkit. This paper presents
the Professor procedure and implementation, illustrated with the application of
the method to tunes of the Pythia 6 event generator to data from the LEP/SLD
and Tevatron experiments. These tunes are substantial improvements on existing
standard choices, and are recommended as base tunes for LHC experiments, to be

Economic growth in the post-socialist Russian Federation after 1991 : the role of institutions
The paper emphasizes the transition in Russia and the role institutions played before and during the process. In Russia, a ?big bang? approach was applied. That is to say, transition was conducted all of a sudden, omitting important underlying reforms. This practice should function as a shock therapy. Hence, the approach should leave no other chance than an abrupt adaption to the new free-market rules. These rules would then lead to fast economic growth and development, as they did in other places. However, since Russian GDP per capita and thereby living standards deteriorated dramatically in the years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the plan did not work. At any rate, since then Russian economic indicators recovered and partly achieved their pre-1991 levels at the end of the last decade. The paper depicts Russia?s reform efforts and the subsequent developments. The close ties among the political elite, the banking sector and the old nomenklatura are demonstrated. The patrimonial system that persisted for centuries is still observable at the state level. At any rate, Russia can neither evade its historical and institutional development path nor its societal structures that are based on networks and nepotism. Russia?s systemic lack of the rule of law and therewith of secure property, the character of the Russian political system with the patriarch as the head of state and the resulting necessity of corruption and bribes inhibit the realization of its full growth potential
Monomeric 16-Electron π-Diborene Complexes of Zn(II) and Cd(II)
Despite the prevalence of stable π-complexes of most d10 metals, such as Cu(I) and Ni(0), with ethylene and other olefins, complexation of d10 Zn(II) to simple olefins is too weak to form isolable complexes due to the metal ion's limited capacity for π-backdonation. By employing more strongly donating π-ligands, namely neutral diborenes with a high-lying π(B=B) orbital, monomeric 16-electron M(II)-diborene (M = Zn, Cd) π-complexes were synthesized in good yields. Metal–B2 π-interactions in both the solid and solution state were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analyses and their solution NMR and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, respectively. The M(II) centers adopt a trigonal planar geometry and interact almost symmetrically with both boron atoms. The MB2 planes significantly twist out of the MX2 planes about the M-centroid(B–B) vector, with angles ranging from 47.0° to 85.5°, depending on the steric interactions between the diborene ligand and the MX2 fragment
Clan structure analysis and new physics signals in pp collisions at LHC
The study of possible new physics signals in global event properties in pp
collisions in full phase space and in rapidity intervals accessible at LHC is
presented. The main characteristic is the presence of an elbow structure in
final charged particle MD's in addition to the shoulder observed at lower c.m.
