    Modern Museum Communications as a Means of Visitors Attracting

    The purpose of the study is to analyze the websites of museums in Russia in the European context. The Fine Arts museums in five regional centers of Russia and European Union, namely, in France, Germany, Poland, Croatia, and Lithuania were chosen for the assessment of their websites by four criteria: design, content, usability, and dynamism. A rating of the target Russian museum websites was compiled based on a comparative analysis of their compliance with these criteria. The findings allow concluding that some of the web resources of Russian regional museums meet the European standards, which let them powerfully join the modern virtual space and win both Russian and foreign audiences. The scienсe-based approach to a single virtual cultural space, which is currently on the focus of the museum institutions, supports the assumption of the museum websites to be a potent tool for the art communication with society. The practical value of the study is determined by possible uses of the results in streamlining and upgrading the museum sites, as well as in courses and training programs on museology, management, and marketing of social and cultural activities

    Assessment of humoral immunity to SARS-CoV-2 by a sample examination of medical workers in a large specialized multidisciplinary hospital

    Introduction. The assessment of specific IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2 and their quantitation permit to calculate the intensity of immunity to COVID-19, i.e. to determine the level of immunity to infection, the risk of infection, the severity of the disease, as well as the ability to prevent death. Meanwhile, the protective level of antibodies is not determined. Therefore, determining the nature of immunity and quantitation of IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2 make it possible to assess the effectiveness of preventive measures and correct them in a timely manner. The aim is to determine the presence of IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2, their concentrations, and the nature of humoral immunity in different age and occupational groups of employees in a closed-type hospital after the completed vaccination with "Gam-Covid-Vac" vaccine. Materials and methods. The blood sera of 310 members of medical staff who received a full course of immunization with the "Gam-Covid-Vac" vaccine were tested using "SARS-CoV-2-ELISA-IgG" kit according to instructions provided in 21.20.23-004-28597318-2020, RU No. RZN 2021/15898. IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2 were quantitated against WHO standard NIBSC 20/136. Results. Specific IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2 were found in 92.9% of the examined individuals, including 67.4% having hybrid immunity (both vaccine- and infection- induced), and 25.5% having post-vaccination immunity after immunization with the "Gam-Covid-Vac" vaccine; 7.1% participants were nonimmune. A higher level of IgG antibodies to RBD Spike SARS-CoV-2 was detected in the group of individuals with hybrid immunity (p 0.01). Only 11.6% of employees had a protective antibody level of more than 300 BAU/ml. Discussion. Most employees with hybrid immunity were identified in the older age groups and in the junior medical staff. The results of this serological study, taking into account the age and professional aspects, can serve as the basis for adjusting preventive measures in medical institutions

    Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) Program : An Overview of the First 5 Years in Operation and Future Prospects

    The Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) program was initiated as a bottom-up approach by the researchers coming from Finland and Russia in October 2012. The PEEX China kick off meeting was held in November 2013. During its five years in operation, the program has established a governance structure and delivered a science plan for the Northern Eurasian region. PEEX has also introduced a concept design for a modelling platform and ground-based in situ observation systems for detecting land-atmosphere and ocean-atmosphere interactions. Today, PEEX has an extensive researcher’s network representing research communities coming from the Nordic countries, Russia and China. PEEX is currently carrying out its research activities on a project basis, but is looking for more coordinated funding bases, especially in Russia and in China. The near-future challenge in implementing the PEEX research agenda is to achieve a successful integration and identification of the methodological approaches of the socio-economic research to environmental sciences.     Application of textured wheat flour in bakery technology

    The paper presents the study results on the effect of textured wheat flour on organoleptic, physical and chemical, and microbiological quality indicators, and storage stability of bakery products. The study objects were samples of bakery products made by the sponge and dough method with and without prior dough fermentation and those made by the quick sponge method. The addition of the studied flour in the amount of 40% by flour weight did not significantly affect the organoleptic quality indicators, as well as the moisture and acidity of bakery products made by different methods. The protein content in the test samples was 7.0–7.5 g per 100 g of the product. The lowest degree of staleness 72 h after baking could be observed in bakery products made by the sponge and dough method with prior dough fermentation. Products made by the sponge and dough method with and without prior dough fermentation showed the first signs of mold on storage day 15. The first signs of rope spoilage were found after 144 h of storage under provoking conditions in bakery products made by the sponge and dough method with prior dough fermentation. The study results yielded bakery products made from wheat flour and supplemented with textured wheat flour in the amount of 40% by flour weight. In accordance with TR TS 022/2011 ‘Food products in terms of their labeling’, bakery products supplemented with 40% textured wheat flour made by the sponge and dough method with and without prior dough fermentation are regarded as a source of dietary fiber.     The developed technology provides obtaining finely-dispersed ferrite powders ZnxFe3-x04 (x=0-0.5), which meet the requirements to magnetic na noagents used in the biomedical field such as biochemical purity, n a n ometric particle size, rather high magnetization and superparamagnetic state in the therapeutic range of temperatures. T h e average particle sizes have been determined by the methods of X-ray d iffraction analysis and e l e ctron microscopy. T he dependence of the crystalline lattice constants on the zinc ions concentration has been determined. Magnetic measurements at 300 K have demonstrated the increase of magnetization as a result of replacement of iron ions with zinc ions and the size effect - the superparamagnetic state of the powder particles has been found.     Disposable facemask waste combustion emits neuroactive smoke particulate matter

    Abstract Tremendous deposits of disposable medical facemask waste after the COVID-19 pandemic require improvement of waste management practice according to WHO report 2022, moreover facemasks are still in use around the world to protect against numerous airborne infections. Here, water-suspended smoke preparations from the combustion of disposable medical facemasks (polypropylene fibers) were collected; size, zeta potential, surface groups of smoke particulate matter were determined by dynamic light scattering, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, and their optical properties were characterized. Neurochemical study using nerve terminals isolated from rat cortex revealed a significant decrease in the initial rate of the uptake/accumulation of excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters, L-[14C]glutamate and [3H]GABA, and exocytotic release, and also an increase in the extracellular level of these neurotransmitters. Fluorescent measurements revealed that ROS generation induced by hydrogen peroxide and glutamate receptor agonist kainate decreased in nerve terminals. A decrease in the membrane potential of nerve terminals and isolated neurons, the mitochondrial potential and synaptic vesicle acidification was also shown. Therefore, accidental or intentional utilization of disposable medical facemask waste by combustion results in the release of neuroactive ultrafine particulate matter to the environment, thereby contributing to plastic-associated pollution of air and water resources and neuropathology development and expansion
