Los primeros pasos de la protección social a los ciegos en España: función y alcance de las instituciones socioeducativas públicas antes de la creación de la O.N.C.E.

The article shows the beginning of the social public assistance to the blind people in Spain and the later repercussion that this assistance had within the collective in the social aspect as much as in the educative. The steps taken by different institutions to receive blind people and the way in which their instruction was guided is also presented. It is mainly an statistical study that describes the reach of the social educational attention to blind people collective since the appearance of the first schools up to the creation of the National Organization for the blind people in Spain in December 1938 (ONCE).Investigación empírica y teoría sociológica son inseparables para Bourdieu. En este artículo pretendo presentar una aproximación analítica y una evaluación crítica de la noción de violencia simbólica, no en términos de una formulación teórica sistemática sino como un instrumento flexible en función de los temas de investigación concretos que han ido jalonando y enriqueciendo su obra. La hipótesis principal que sostengo es que la noción de violencia simbólica es inseparable de sus investigaciones sobre la dominación simbólica y sólo puede interpretarse adecuadamente en el contexto de su teoría de la práctica. El artículo expone cómo fueron los inicios de la asistencia social pública a las personas ciegas en España para posteriormente analizar la repercusión que dicha asistencia tuvo dentro de este colectivo, tanto en el ámbito social como educativo. Se presentan las medidas adoptadas por diferentes instituciones para acoger a las personas ciegas y la forma en que se fueron encaminando sus enseñanzas. Se trata, fundamentalmente, de un estudio estadístico que permite determinar el alcance de la atención socioeducativa al colectivo de personas ciegas desde la aparición de las primeras escuelas hasta la creación de la Organización Nacional de Ciegos de España en diciembre de 1938

Creating a GWT web application for the SOS standard enhanced profile

With the proliferation of the use of these networks for very different purposes, it has appeared also the necessity of developing one standard to unify all these types of networks and make them interoperable. This standard is Sensor Observation Service (SOS) and was developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in 2007 as part of the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) activities. The access to the information provided by sensor networks can be done using PC, laptops on mobile devices such as mobile phones, and that’s why in this project, it has been developed a thin client in Google Web Toolkit (GWT), which follows the SOS standard to access to all information contained in the server without overloading the device

Políticas de información y discapacidad: Nuevos retos para la integración

Balance y análisis de las Jornadas Académicas que bajo el título: «Políticas de Información y Discapacidad: nuevos retos para la integración», se celebraron en la sede de la Escuela Universitaria de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la UCM durante los días 9 y 10 de marzo de 2006. En este artículo se analizan las distintas intervenciones de los profesionales asistentes a las Jornadas y se da noticia de los datos más relevantes extraídos de las mesas redondas y coloquios. Por último se hace un balance de los dos días de trabajo y se invita a los lectores a reflexionar sobre este particular en la universidad española y en la vida cotidiana.Balance and analysis of the Academic Sessions that under the title: «Information Policies and Disability: new challenges for integration» were celebrated in the premises of the School of Librarianship and Documentation of the UCM from 9 upto the 10th march 2006. In this paper we analyze the different lectures given by the professionals present in the Sessions as well as the most relevant information regarding these matters given in the different discussion groups. Finally a reflection of the couple of days of work is made known and an invitation to the readers to think about this particular matter in the spanish university and our daily lives

El registro sedimentario del Cuaternario Reciente en el Lago Redó D'Aigües Tortes (Pirineos Centrales)

[Resumen] El estudio del registro sedimentario del lago Redó d'Aigües Tortes (Pirineos Centrales) permite analizar la evolución paleoambiental en los alrededores del lago desde el final del Último Ciclo Glaciar hasta la actualidad (Pleistoceno Superior-Holoceno). El relleno sedimentario se inicia alrededor de los 13500 años BP con la sedimentación de ritmitas glaciolacustres que indican la presencia de glaciares en la zona de influencia del lago hasta el inicio del Holoceno (9980 años BP). Durante el Holoceno, la sedimentación es predominantemente de tipo orgánico aunque algunas intercalaciones detríticas puedan corresponder tanto a fluctuaciones climáticas como a fenómenos de inestabilidad en las laderas que bordean el lago (deslizamientos y/o aludes).[Abstract] The study of the sedimentary record from Lake Redó d'Aigües Tortes (Central Pyrenees) allows us to recognize the paleoenvironmental evolution in the surrounding area since the end of the Last Glacial Cycle (Upper PleistoceneHolocene). The sedimentary filling begins at about 13500 years BP with the sedimentation of glaciolacustrine rhythmites showing the existence of glaciers in the cirque area up to the beginning of the Holocene (9980 years BP). During the Holocene, the prevailing organic sedimentation is interrupted by detritic levels that would correspond either to climatic fluctuations or to landslides / snow avalanches in the slopes bordering the lake
