Structural and Functional Organization of Photosynthetic Apparatus in Wild Halophites
The structural and molecular parameters of photosynthetic apparatus in plants with different strategies for the accumulation of salts were investigated. The objects of the study were euhalophytes (Salicornia perennans, Suaeda salsa, Halocnemum strobilaceum), a crynohalophyte (Limonium gmelinii) and a glycohalophyte (Artemisia santonica). The euhalophytes S. perennans and S. salsa belong to plants of the halosucculent type, while the other three species represent the xerophilic type. Larger cells with a great number of chloroplasts, a high content of membrane glycerolipids and unsaturated C18:3 fatty acid and smaller pigment and light-harvesting complexes characterize the features of euhalophytes with a succulent leaf type. Therefore, thefeatures of the halophyte photosynthetic apparatus structure are closely related to its functional indicators and are defined by a strategy in both the accumulation of salts and the method of water regime regulation.

Interplay of quark and meson degrees of freedom in a near-threshold resonance
We investigate the interplay of quark and meson degrees of freedom in a
physical state representing a near-threshold resonance for the case of a single
continuum channel. We demonstrate that such a near-threshold resonance may
possess quite peculiar properties if both quark and meson dynamics generate
weakly coupled near-threshold poles in the S-matrix. In particular, the
scattering t-matrix may possess zeros in this case. We also discuss possible

Search for the Radiative Capture d+d->^4He+\gamma Reaction from the dd\mu Muonic Molecule State
A search for the muon catalyzed fusion reaction dd --> ^4He +\gamma in the
dd\mu muonic molecule was performed using the experimental \mu CF installation
TRITON and NaI(Tl) detectors for \gamma-quanta. The high pressure target filled
with deuterium at temperatures from 85 K to 800 K was exposed to the negative
muon beam of the JINR phasotron to detect \gamma-quanta with energy 23.8 MeV.
The first experimental estimation for the yield of the radiative deuteron
capture from the dd\mu state J=1 was obtained at the level n_{\gamma}\leq

Identification of the gene coding for seed cotyledon albumin SCA in the pea (Pisum L.) genome
Albumins SCA and SAA are short, highly hydrophilic proteins accumulated in large quantities in the cotyledons and seed axes, respectively, of a dry pea (Pisum sativum L.) seed. SCA was earlier shown to have two allelic variants differing in mobility in polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in acid medium. Using them, the corresponding gene SCA was mapped on Linkage Group V. This protein was used as a useful genetic and phylogeographical marker, which still required electrophoretic analysis of the protein while the DNA sequence of the corresponding SCA gene remained unknown. Based on the length, the positive charge under acidic conditions and the number of lysine residues of SCA and SAA albumins, estimated earlier electrophoretically, the data available in public databases were searched for candidates for the SCA gene among coding sequences residing in the region of the pea genome which, taking into account the synteny of the pea and Medicago truncatula genomes, corresponds to the map position of SCA. Then we sequenced them in a number of pea accessions. Concordance of the earlier electrophoretic data and sequence variation indicated the sequence Psat0s797g0160 of the reference pea genome to be the SCA gene. The sequence Psat0s797g0240 could encode a minor related albumin SA-a2, while a candidate gene for albumin SAA is still missing (as well as electrophoretic variation of both latter albumins). DNA amplification using original primers SCA1_3f and SCA1_3r from genomic DNA and restriction by endonuclease HindII made it possible to distinguish the SCA alleles coding for protein products with different charges without sequencing the gene. Thus, the gene encoding the highly hydrophilic albumin SCA accumulated in pea seeds, the alleles of which are useful for classification of pea wild relatives, has now been identified in the pea genome and a convenient CAPS marker has been developed on its basis
Charm production nearby threshold in pA-interactions at 70 GeV
The results of the SERP-E-184 experiment at the U-70 accelerator (IHEP,
Protvino) are presented. Interactions of the 70 GeV proton beam with C, Si and
Pb targets were studied to detect decays of charmed , ,
, mesons and baryon near their production threshold.
Measurements of lifetimes and masses are shown a good agreement with PDG data.
The inclusive cross sections of charm production and their A-dependencies were
obtained. The yields of these particles are compared with the theoretical
predictions and the data of other experiments. The measured cross section of
the total open charm production ( = 7.1
2.3(stat) 1.4(syst) b/nucleon) at the collision c.m. energy
= 11.8 GeV is well above the QCD model predictions. The
contributions of different species of charmed particles to the total cross
section of the open charm production in proton-nucleus interactions vary with
