Rassemblant des cadres opĂ©rationnels, Orhion s’est concentrĂ© sur les projets numĂ©riques et leur mise en place, avant de s’intĂ©resser aux mĂ©tiers et leurs Ă©volutions dans un contexte numĂ©rique (signalement et magasinage numĂ©rique).     Walnut cultivar performance of cold resistance in south central France

    In south-central France, walnut exhibited freezing tolerance by acclimation in the fall and deacclimation in the spring. The cold hardiness level varied with the different cultivars and dates. Cold tolerance performances of 7 walnut fruit cultivars (Chandler, Franquette, Fernor, Fernette, Lara, Pedro, Serr) and of the hybrid Juglans regia × Juglans nigra NG38 were compared in the same location, at the INRA Center of Clermont-Ferrand. For these comparisons, an electrolyte leakage conductivity method (LT50) was used and adapted for walnut.In all cases NG38 (Juglans regia × Juglans nigra) appeared particularly cold resistant

    Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma in Children and Adolescents: Experience of the French Society of Pediatric Oncology (SFCE)

    International audienceThe purpose of this work is to assess the clinical outcome of pediatric patients diagnosed with pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) detected in France since 2000. Methods A retrospective multicenter study was conducted that included all patients younger than 18 years with PPGL diagnosed in France between 2000 and 2016. Patients were identified from 4 different sources: the National Registry of Childhood Solid Tumors, the French Pediatric Rare Tumors Database, the French registry of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH)-related hereditary paraganglioma, and the nationwide TenGen network. Results Among 113 eligible patients, 81 children with available data were enrolled (41 with adrenal and 40 with extra-adrenal PPGL). At diagnosis, 11 had synchronous metastases. After a median follow-up of 53 months, 27 patients experienced a new event (n = 7 second PPGL, n = 1 second paraganglioma [PGL], n = 8 local recurrences, n = 10 metastatic relapses, n = 1 new tumor) and 2 patients died of their disease. The 3- and 10-year event-free survival rates were 80% (71%-90%) and 39% (20%-57%),respectively, whereas the overall survival rate was 97% (93%-100%)at 3 and 10 years. A germline mutation in one PPGL-susceptibility gene was identified in 53 of the 68 (77%) patients who underwent genetic testing (SDHB [n = 25], VHL [n = 21], RET [n = 2], HIF2A [n = 2], SDHC [n = 1], SDHD [n = 1], NF1 [n = 1]). Incomplete resection and synchronous metastases were associated with higher risk of events (P = .011, P = .004), but presence of a germline mutation was not (P = .11). Conclusions Most pediatric PPGLs are associated with germline mutations and require specific follow-up because of the high risk of tumor recurrence

    IF 24.008International audiencePurpose Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) are important imaging techniques in multiple myeloma (MM). We conducted a prospective trial in patients with MM aimed at comparing MRI and PET-CT with respect to the detection of bone lesions at diagnosis and the prognostic value of the techniques. Patients and Methods One hundred thirty-four patients received a combination of lenalidomide, bortezomib, and dexamethasone (RVD) with or without autologous stem-cell transplantation, followed by lenalidomide maintenance. PET-CT and MRI were performed at diagnosis, after three cycles of RVD, and before maintenance therapy. The primary end point was the detection of bone lesions at diagnosis by MRI versus PET-CT. Secondary end points included the prognostic impact of MRI and PET-CT regarding progression-free (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Results At diagnosis, MRI results were positive in 127 of 134 patients (95%), and PET-CT results were positive in 122 of 134 patients (91%; P = .33). Normalization of MRI after three cycles of RVD and before maintenance was not predictive of PFS or OS. PET-CT became normal after three cycles of RVD in 32% of the patients with a positive evaluation at baseline, and PFS was improved in this group (30-month PFS, 78.7% v 56.8%, respectively). PET-CT normalization before maintenance was described in 62% of the patients who were positive at baseline. This was associated with better PFS and OS. Extramedullary disease at diagnosis was an independent prognostic factor for PFS and OS, whereas PET-CT normalization before maintenance was an independent prognostic factor for PFS. Conclusion There is no difference in the detection of bone lesions at diagnosis when comparing PET-CT and MRI. PET-CT is a powerful tool to evaluate the prognosis of de novo myeloma
