    Freeze-out Configuration in Multifragmentation

The excitation energy and the nuclear density at the time of breakup are extracted for the α+197Au\alpha + ^{197}Au reaction at beam energies of 1 and 3.6 GeV/nucleon. These quantities are calculated from the average relative velocity of intermediate mass fragments (IMF) at large correlation angles as a function of the multiplicity of IMFs using a statistical model coupled with many-body Coulomb trajectory calculations. The Coulomb component vc\vec{v}_{c} and thermal component v0\vec{v}_{0} are found to depend oppositely on the excitation energy, IMFs multiplicity, and freeze-out density. These dependencies allow the determination of both the volume and the mean excitation energy at the time of breakup. It is found that the volume remained constant as the beam energy was increased, with a breakup density of about ρ0/7\rho_{0}/7, but that the excitation energy increased 25%25\% to about 5.5 MeV/nucleon.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figures available upon resues

Participation Traders Separating Waste In Pasar Baru Tampan Sub District Pekanbaru City

Garbage is defined as something that is not used anymore, unused, or something that is thrown away, which is derived from human activities and does not happen by itself. The market is one of the human activities that produce large amounts of garbage every day, when the waste sorting system is not good, it will make it difficult to carry out waste management and will have an impact on health directly or indirectly. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the participation of traders in waste sorting in Tampan Sub district  Pasar Baru  Pekanbaru. This study is quantitative research with cross sectional design. This research was conducted April 2015, sample in this study is 79 merchants. Data were collected by using questionnaires and observation. Data analysis for bivariate with chi-square test with 95% confidence level with α = 0.05. The results showed that there is a relationship between education (OR = 2,60  ; CI: 1,08-3,67),  socialization  (OR = 3,10; CI: 2,58-5,99) availability of trash waste (OR = 8,25 ; CI: 2,98-7,55 with waste sorting participation

A novel TPR-BEN domain interaction mediates PICH-BEND3 association

PICH is a DNA translocase required for the maintenance of chromosome stability in human cells. Recent data indicate that PICH co-operates with topoisomerase IIα to suppress pathological chromosome missegregation through promoting the resolution of ultra-fine anaphase bridges (UFBs). Here, we identify the BEN domain-containing protein 3 (BEND3) as an interaction partner of PICH in human cells in mitosis. We have purified full length PICH and BEND3 and shown that they exhibit a functional biochemical interaction in vitro. We demonstrate that the PICH-BEND3 interaction occurs via a novel interface between a TPR domain in PICH and a BEN domain in BEND3, and have determined the crystal structure of this TPR-BEN complex at 2.2 Å resolution. Based on the structure, we identified amino acids important for the TPR-BEN domain interaction, and for the functional interaction of the full-length proteins. Our data reveal a proposed new function for BEND3 in association with PICH, and the first example of a specific protein-protein interaction mediated by a BEN domain

Extraction of the πNN\pi NN coupling constant from NN scattering data

We reexamine Chew's method for extracting the πNN\pi NN coupling constant from np differential cross section measurements. Values for this coupling are extracted below 350 MeV, in the potential model region, and up to 1 GeV. The analyses to 1~GeV have utilized 55 data sets. We compare these results to those obtained via χ2\chi^2 mapping techniques. We find that these two methods give consistent results which are in agreement with previous Nijmegen determinations.Comment: 12 pages of text plus 2 figures. Determination of the pion-nucleon coupling constant and scattering lengths

    Get PDF
We critically evaluate the isovector GMO sum rule for forward pion-nucleon scattering using the recent precision measurements of negatively charged pion-proton and pion-deuteron scattering lengths from pionic atoms. We deduce the charged-pion-nucleon coupling constant, with careful attention to systematic and statistical uncertainties. This determination gives, directly from data a pseudoscalar coupling constant of 14.11+-0.05(statistical)+-0.19(systematic) or a pseudovector one of 0.0783(11). This value is intermediate between that of indirect methods and the direct determination from backward neutron-proton differential scattering cross sections. We also use the pionic atom data to deduce the coherent symmetric and antisymmetric sums of the negatively charged pion-proton and pion-neutron scattering lengths with high precision. The symmetric sum gives 0.0012+-0.0002(statistical)+-0.0008 (systematic) and the antisymmetric one 0.0895+-0.0003(statistical)+-0.0013(systematic), both in units of inverse charged pion-mass. For the need of the present analysis, we improve the theoretical description of the pion-deuteron scattering length.Comment: 27 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev. Multifragmentation threshold in ^{93}Nb+{nat}Mg collisions at 30 MeV/nucleon

    Get PDF
We analyzed the 93Nb^{93}Nb on natMg^{nat}Mg reaction at 30 MeV/nucleon in the aim of disentangling binary sequential decay and multifragmentation decay close to the energy threshold, i.e. 3\simeq 3 MeV/nucleon. Using the backtracing technique applied to the statistical models GEMINI and SMM we reconstruct simulated charge, mass and excitation energy distributions and compare them to the experimental ones. We show that data are better described by SMM than by GEMINI in agreement with the fact that multifragmentation is responsible for fragment production at excitation energies around 3 MeV/nucleon.Comment: 16 pages, 12 figures, 5 tables Soumis \`a Nuclear Physics

Indication of asymptotic scaling in the reactions ddp3dd\to p^3H, ddn3dd\to n^3He and dpdpdp\to dp

It is shown that the differential cross sections of the reactions dd3Hendd\to ^3He n and dd3Hpdd\to ^3H p measured at c.m.s.scattering angleθcm=60\theta_{cm}=60^\circ in the interval of the deuteron beam energy 0.5 - 1.2 GeV demonstrate the scaling behaviour,dσ/dts22d\sigma/d t\sim s^{-22}, which follows from constituent quark counting rules. It is found also that the differential cross section of the elastic dpdpdp\to dp scattering at θcm=125135\theta_{cm}=125^\circ-135^\circ follows the scaling regime s16\sim s^{-16} at beam energies 0.5 - 5 GeV. These data are parameterized here using the Reggeon exchange.Comment: 6 pages, Latex, 2 eps figures; final version accepted by Pis'ma v ZHETF, corrected and completed reference

    dd3Hendd\to {^3}He n reaction at intermediate energies

The dd3Hendd\to ^3He n reaction is considered at the energies between 200 MeV and 520 MeV. The Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas equations are iterated up to the lowest order terms over the nucleon-nucleon t-matrix. The parameterized 3He{^3He} wave function including five components is used. The angular dependence of the differential cross section and energy dependence of tensor analyzing power T20T_{20} at the zero scattering angle are presented in comparison with the experimental data

Quasi-Elastic Scattering in the Inclusive (3^3He, t) Reaction

The triton energy spectra of the charge-exchange 12^{12}C(3^3He,t) reaction at 2 GeV beam energy are analyzed in the quasi-elastic nucleon knock-out region. Considering that this region is mainly populated by the charge-exchange of a proton in 3^3He with a neutron in the target nucleus and the final proton going in the continuum, the cross-sections are written in the distorted-wave impulse approximation. The t-matrix for the elementary exchange process is constructed in the DWBA, using one pion- plus rho-exchange potential for the spin-isospin nucleon- nucleon potential. This t-matrix reproduces the experimental data on the elementary pn \rightarrow np process. The calculated cross-sections for the 12^{12}C(3^3He,t) reaction at 2o2^o to 7o7^o triton emission angle are compared with the corresponding experimental data, and are found in reasonable overall accord.Comment: 19 pages, latex, 11 postscript figures available at [email protected], submitted to Phy.Rev.
